You could have possibly used the existing hole, you'd already drilled 800mm so could have put the new drill bit in the existing hole so it stuck out 200mm then attached the drill to it 🎉🎉, looks like your having fun anyway, and the bees can use the existing hole in spring 😊

I wonder how/if weather affetcs the starlink. Seems to work fine in snow, but wondering about heat too. Atmospheric conditions might interefere with the signal. Will be interesting to see how you get on with it over the coming year. Dont they have a little portable one too? Would be great for when you need internet out in your field or woods
Fantastic video Jen 👌 Wife and I are looking to move too France and STARLINK will definitely be required 💫 Excited for yourself and Mark's future at the new home 💚
I dislike Elon as much as the next guy but hope you aren't posting this from an android, apple or microsoft device because they're all as shady as each other, they're just smart enough to keep their mouths shut
Love the video. I was always curious about the Starlink system in England due to line of sight issues. For all the haters on Elon. He has done more positive things for the world than you will ever do or know. Keep the hate on X or Bluesky and not here.
For anyone else curious, it's apparently £75 a month and £299 for the hardware.
Depends on the location. Works great for me.
Have a look at flood levels reached from that stream. You might find it was that high due to flood risk.
I have Starlink. It's great most of the time. I do occasionally have issues during snowstorms.
Yet to have proper snow, so fingers crossed it still works. 🤞
Jen somehow reminds me of Queen Elizabeth in Blackadder :) That's about the download speed I get here in NY.
You two make me smile. Your videos are bright spots in the week.
Not to be a moaning Brit, but I am. Please wear safety glasses. ❤
Thank you! ☺️
And I know, we need to up our safety game!
As an American seeing your video with your new home in it has me very jealous you have a beautiful home 😊😊😊😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Drills into wall made of rock.
“This is rock hard!“
Well … yes 😊
😂🙈😂
You beat me to the same comment.
Great video, enjoyed the setting up of the dish 👍
Great video and congratulations on the successful setup! Best moment? At 5:33 when Jen says "this is rock hard" while drilling through a rock wall.
😂🙄😂
Fill up that first hole! 😬
Otherwise humidity will poor in and freeze might create cracks!?
Looking up to see the satellites…. Who’d a thunk it!

Those Makita toys look suspiciously new, has Mark being buying 'things we'll defo need', and then being very pleased you defo needed it....:)
He does have a "slight" problem with buying shiny new things... 🙄😂

Damn that is pretty cool!
Expensive per month compared to regular Internet but those satellites are not cheap to build or launch. Amazing tech
Well the point is that Starlink is intended for us without access to “regular Internet.” It’s a game changer out here in the sticks.
Time to upgrade from the slow eero mesh stuff next to takes full advantage of the speed
What would you suggest?

Love your pluck in taking on this task yourself, but are there no contractors who could have helped with this? Or was it too expensive? Best of luck!
Plenty of people out there who could of helped, but we wanted to do it ourselves. 😊💪
Bravo! And you certainly found the largest drill bit I’ve ever seen. 😂

I have Starlink in Italy - works fine at 45c. I also have mobile Starlink ... works literally everywhere but the batter usage is quite brutal
Can we see more of Mark’s watch collection in that case
Great job guys, can I say please please always drill from the inside>out
Will you need to fill in the “test” hole?
Yes, easy fix 😊
Great video Jen! At least with the meter thick walls, you are safe from tornado's! Oh, wait... :)
We sure would be! 😁
That wall is as thick as Mark! 😂 only joking Mark 😆👊
The internet in our cottage (north east Scotland) is 2mbps 😂
😂🙈😂
Like your new place ....did you win the lottery 🤔
Mark sold his finance business. Plus selling their existing home.
SDS - Super Duper Speedy😅
Those dogs at just 8 seconds in!
They have hard working days. 😄
SDS = Super Dooper Speedy. hahaha

France - How exciting! 😃
When did Reading become a City 😉
🤫😄
Great video, Starlink is much better than i thought .
Thank you. 😊
Dead interesting to watch starlink getting set up . Just wondering how much it costs ?
Really enjoyed the video!
Looks swell
Respectfully! Only a lady would read the instructions and then do it!😂
We had starlink, it’s amazing! Love Elon!❤
American here…Elon will NEVER get a penny from me!! Madman/sicophant, to the core.
Very true - this is good tech though!
You must be a Democrat consuming CNN/MSNBC.
Great result! Please wear safety glasses when using power tools though 🙂
My thoughts exactly! Need to protect the eyes. Ear plugs would also be a good idea as well.
Fun video. Comment for the algorithm.
Elon 🤮
Sees the word Elon. Thumbs down 👎🏻
