There is soooo much more to this feature than what is demonstrated here. You're gonna want to view other tutorials on UA-cam for a proper appreciation of this great addition to the M3s' capabilities.
Yeah I would say its worth upgrading especially with remote ID rules and Mavic 2 not being remote ID capable without a module. Plus all of the upgrades with the Mavic 3. It’s a great drone!
The other way is to use the map and plan from home. You can just drop your points on the map from home, set the parameters, save it and it and execute over and over.
Still very disappointing that you have to fly the route you want to do your way points on, why can’t they just have a DJI computer/google maps software that you can click on a map put your wave points in tell which direction camera is yes I know third-party software does this but this is something DJ I should be doing.
I agree with you, I think it should be more advanced but since it’s a new feature I’ll give them sometime to work out these things. I think it has potential to get better over time if DJI prioritizes it.
@@Dpixtion it’s a really good feature, this video is great, but just skims the surface of what it can do/be used for 👍🏻 I think 51Drones has a deeper video on it 😊
@@wolfiemedia thanks for all your help guys both of you I just figured out that because I have the Air 2S I don’t have waypoints and the new firmware I thought that was part of everyone’s drone….
I plan to watch all tutorials I can find on Waypoints, as it has a lot of possibilities, and I haven't found one that explores them all. The main way I want to use it is to preplan a flight from a map, set points of interest, then go to the location and fly it once at sunset and then again after dark. It is not real safe where I want to fly to video the city skyline and bridge, so by preparing the flight ahead of time, I will be able to concentrate more on what is around me physically.
Hi Kenneth! I have a tutorial coming out tomorrow that you might like, it's much more in-depth than this. I specifically show how to create Waypoints before going to the location.
DJI is one of the best drone manufacturers out there, but just like TikTok, they are Chinese, and you are "connected", which brings up that opportunity of transferring information. There is a good reason why our military does not allow the use of either company's products. - ex-DJI owner/operator
I agree with you 100 percent, I’ve always loved DJI and have flown DJI drones since the beginning but it being a Chinese company definitely is a major downside. I understand the military not using DJI drones. I’ve put thousands into DJI products so I’m heavily invested at this point. Maybe someday I’ll make the switch to a different drone platform.
In short, and speaking about projecting a flight from "home", unless they modify many, many things, the waypoint module is completely inaccurate. Beginning with the maps the they should get quite a lot nearer the ground. i.e. A tower of a castle looks so little on the map..... apart from that the inaccuracy of creating waypoints with the finger.... totally unprecise..... my e-pencils do NOT work with the DJI RC PRO, so have to add points with the tip of my finger. And why the heck do I have to use the RC control for that? The lack of possibility to create waypoints on the laptop would also simplify things. Nothing difficult... if Dronelink and litchi can do it, why not DJI. If they want to improve, there should be more firmwares to come!! Any ideas coming from anyone will be welcome
Hey Carlos I agree it needs much improvement from where it is now but it's a start. DJI stepping into the space with their own Waypoint feature is great and definitely means more improvement to come. . I would love to see the ability to add more precise Waypoints on my computer. That would be a game changer.

You definitely want to stay and watch my video all the way through so that you see the demonstration which I completely show without any cuts.
Very good my friend, this drone is incredible, thanks for sharing !!!
It really is an incredible drone, I’m happy that it’s only getting better with software updates
Thanks for the vid!
I use dronelink for waypoint mapping on my M2, with this feature built-in, it is worthwhile for me to upgrade to m3p.

Totally nonsensical function. Waypoints only make sense if I can plan them without flying the route beforehand.
Yeah it’s definitely too basic, they should add map functionality so you can plan routes ahead of time.
Tap the map. You can just drop points on the map from home, set the parameters, save it and it and execute…
