This well-loved song is on p.34 of Alfred's Adult Greatest Hits Level 1. It was composed by Rogers & Hammerstein in 1959 for the Broadway musical "The Sound of Music". Then in 1965 it was made into the fabulous film version which featured Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. The film received 5 Academy Awards and 2 Golden Globe awards and has been enjoyed around the world ever since.
Julie Andrews sings this song as she is dancing around the mountains in Austria with all of the panoramic beauty surrounding her and then later in the film there is a reprise with the entire Von Trapp family singing with her. --Norma
