Hey girls! I learned to stitch in the late 80s and am an old school bobbinator with my floss to this day! Seems so less messy that way, both in the way it looks and when using it. ❤

Hi Molly and Kathy, I just discovered your flosstube and can't help but wonder what rock I was hidding under😂. I loved it so much that I have binge watched every episode. I feel like I have been stitching with some best friends everyday. My son and his wife are considering moving to Texas and I told them to go to El Paso just so I can come visit them and hunt you beautiful ladies down and do a little fan girl 😉. I am a scrapbooker/ paper crafter too and have really enjoyed seeing the cross over to cross stitch. Thank you so much for showing your talents. Molly you have the biggest heart and it really shows. Thanks again and I hope you don't mind if I call you friends. ❤

Kathy, the bags were stunning. Molly, your projects are so pretty. On the stitch that Kathy gave you try waxing it. I don’t usually wax my thread, but some threads really need the wax to keep them from fraying. Ya’ll have a wonderful week. Hope it gets easier. I can’t wait for the tag tutorial.❤❤❤

Molly your dmc labels would be perfect for what I’m trying to do with my floss organization. I’d definitely be interested in it now that I’ve got a system going with all 67 of my fully kitted projects! The organization of it also gives me the same satisfaction as the stitching Kathy. 😄👍🩵🪡

Perfect video for me today, this stitching hobby isn’t supposed to be aggravating! I’m a bobbinator from way back, to me having threads hanging from a little card is messy and distracting. I’ve been cross stitching since the late 1970s, can’t change this old dog’s habit! I’m still loving the tags, I’m going to have to see what supplies are in my crafty stash. Thanks for sharing everything!

I have quilts that my mother made from scraps from clothes I had as a child and a teen. I'm am 68 years old, and those quilts are still going strong. I only used homemade quilts until I got married. So many fabrics last a long time. I would also guess it depends on how the quilts are taken care of, out of sun and not washed a lot.

You girls are the best!! Another fun flosstube, you both brighten my day. Kathy, in one of the past post, I think you mentioned you don’t use the pin stitch for a single “stand alone” stitch. I hope im remembering that correctly 😊. Can you demonstrate in a future episode what technique you use for a single stitch. Molly, I’m starting the Sunflower Sampler that I’ve had it kitted up for awhile. Not an old one started but an old one I’ve been wanting to start. Thanks for the motivation!

I love watching you two (AND your cross stitching!). I can totally feel your pain on the craptasticness of this past week. Listen, I put the ground coffee where the water should've gone, tripped over three cats, and turned dyslexic on my laptop all within 10 minutes. And that was only a fraction of one DAY. Here's wishing us all a better week!

Ladies, you make me so happy! I’ve been talking to my stitchy friends about some of the topics you talked about today. Needles, threads and old wips. I love your attitudes about how stitching can be frustrating and you still love it. It is how I feel about it too. Some days it all goes well and other days nothing goes right! Knowing others have the same “troubles” makes me smile. Xstitch is still my first craft love. Keep your videos coming. You are both amazing.😊

Mollie and Cathy, for scissors I recommend someone that sharpens hairdresser scissors. Those scissors are very expensive some over $1,000. A person that's uses a flat wheel like a record, it costs a little more but they will be as sharp as a surgical implement. Absolutely love you ladies!! You always have beautiful projects and lots of great cross stitch ideas. Kathy your project rolls and bags are gorgeous!!! Molly you just crack me up with some of the funny things you say like when Kathy said her husband told her not to put all the things in her cart on Amazon because she has over a thousand dollars worth a stuff and she could push the wrong bottom and buy everything, your reply was “well then you will get everything you want”, that just tickled my fancy!!! Boy we got caught in one of those Ha BOObs in New. Mexico on our way to Arizona and BOY were we scared we could not see a thing not even the tail lights of the car in front of us and the tumble weeds keep hitting our car and some of them went under the car. Honestly, I was praying like crazy to God to help us and he answered our prayer and it stopped,. We were pulling tumble weeds out of the car grill and my husband asked one of the guys at the gas station if he could go under the car and get those nasty tumble weeds out from under the carriage of the car. I think where ever go there is all ways a weather related bad storm; we have tornados here in Illinois.
    Love you gals, Lynn

Nicole is currently making a Biscornu with the hands in design that you showed. It’s patriotic so she is using a red, white and blue.

I have skeins of DMC from the 1980's. Love the wood trays!!! Great Video, cool Ort Bead bling. We've had strong windy conditions for days (AZ), so you'll be getting more soon.

I'm watching while under a tornado watch so a dust storm on your end is fitting. Lots of good stuff again today. Thread and fabric do deteriorate over time depending on conditions. A quick way to determine if thread is still good is to cut off a length and snap it tight between your hands. If it breaks; don't use it. Fabric is harder to tell as new fabric can wear quicker than you expect. 35 years ago I started putting floss into floss bags and still find it the easiest way to manage floss so no plans to ever change to another system. Life is way to short for that sort of thing! I got the biggest giggle out of Molly having to Google new cuss words. My husband was career Navy and he was quite surprised that sewing has it's "WORDS" also. I broke a linen thread on a piece well over a year ago now and it was in the corner of the sewing room until I picked up a couple of weeks ago. Still mad at it. Love the chart but totally over finishing it and I'm 3/4 of the way done.

I'm with you. I watch Flosstube, sports, and some History Channel with real people doing real things. No contrived shows. I live real people, especially those who share beauty and craft. I miss HGTV having crafting and quilting.

Patternayan is strandable wool mostly used for Needlepoint. I believe it's British. It's color coded to patterns. It's very nice.

So fun to see you two. You always make me smile and giggle. 😆
A forest piece...is it Evergreen Forest by Shannon Christine? It's a cute piece. That's on my wishlist. I love Pine Crossing, too, by Robin Pickens. What is it about all those amazing trees? lol.
Kathy, your bags are scrumptious! Beautiful!
Molly, the 12 Days of Christmas is so vibrant and pretty. I've seen the pic before and thought it was nice, but seeing yours stitched...oh my! Makes me want to stitch it.
Thanks for another great video and fun time. 😃

1:13 Molly that would give me peace too & I’ve been looking for the right kind of cardstock for this. What did u use?

    • @linenandscraps4821

For the printed ones I used a heavy 110 lb cardstock. Not all printers can take that weight, so be cardeful For the scrapbook paper ones, I use Anna Griffin prints or other heavy weight ones. They will take a lot of thread pulling and not rip. Thanks so much for watching, Laura. Hugs, Molly D

May I ask - Kathy how do you store your linen? They tell me if it’s folded too long of a time the creases won’t come out

Can’t tell ya that.. but others have..
I roll the piece on itself, tie with ribbon or cotton string. Stand upright in a pretty antique box and baskets…

Molly ALL cereals should have zip bags!!! I’ve complained about this for years. I make my own floss drops with a large punch out of old Christmas cards, etc. Too old to purchase a machine at this late date 😂
