  • I chose to explore more than just the usual tourist spots in Seoul. This time, I took a spontaneous walk through the city from Yeonsinnae (연신내) to Gyeongbokgung Temple (경복궁) in the Jongno-gu (종로구) district. The walk lasted over two hours, but I captured the highlights to make the video shorter.
During the walk, I stumbled upon a closed-off area featuring a park for kids, narrow streets, some monuments, and the remarkable Rock-carved Seated Bodhisattva of Okcheonam Hermitage (도각 옥천암 마애보살좌상) , also known as the White Buddha. It was an unexpected but pleasant surprise.
There was a 4.5km walk through the mountains, but since the walk was already long, I decided to stick to my original route and head towards my destination. You'll see in the video my moment of hesitation, but ultimately, I chose to continue my walk to the place I decided to go.
In the video, I had only two interactions with Korean locals. One was to buy an umbrella at the beginning of the video, which cost me 8000 won, approximately 6 USD. The other interaction was to purchase a beverage from one of the white carts scattered around the city. Despite not speaking Korean, buying things was easy and straightforward.

Y muchas de las diferencias van más allá de la política, es algo más humano, ojalá pudieramos traer algo de eso a latinoamérica.
