The immense joy of the hunt and shot followed by the sorrow of watching the bull go down...the duality of hunting. It's impossible to explain to a non-hunter. That's a fine bull Mr. Pickar. You and your hunting stories never disappoint. Well done.
My wife recently got her first deer she got teary eyed for q moment i told her taking a life is a big deal and being a little sad about it shows that you respect the life that you took theres nothing wrong with that
Completely agree. Have often been so thrilled but at the same time had tears of sorrow seeing a magnificent creature breath it's final breath!
If hunters don’t feel that sorrow … they shouldn’t be hunting . This is a true connection to our food
Thanks a bunch for watching and well said. I appreciate the feedback! -Dan
Hunting and fishing are two of my favorite things to do in the world I truly respect the ones that respect The Hunted
This product is beautiful. The Music, the respect of the guys hunting.. The nature. Thank you
Great camera work, conveying the joy of an archery elk hunting in the backcountry. Nicely done.
Very good video. Photography was awesome. Lots of wildlife where you were. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for bringing this hunt to us. Let me mention some things I noticed that made this an excellent video. The music was so much more fitting for being out in God's creation than a lot of the music I hear in hunting videos. Not a lot of time was spent on the trip out to the hunting site or filming what you ate. The captioning made your comments understandable. (I'm an old guy who is hard of hearing., so if there is too much whispering without captioning, I have to go on to another video.) There was an appropriate amount of dialog. Not too much, not too little. Your mention of God. And your critter was awesome. Thank you again. Well done!
Just great. Love the back country and God's blessin 2 b there. Congrats. Thanks 4 takin us along.

N_I_C_E ... !!!
awesome
Awesome
Congrats Dan on and Awesome bull. You have quite the knack for killing big bulls
Thanks a bunch!! -Dan
Only real elk hunters know about sour patch kids on the mountain. The season to be in the elk woods are almost here everyone. Lets enjoy it!
Even if I don't kill a bull, I never leave empty handed..................
Awesome hunt there Dan, you saw all kinds of elk, some wolves 🐺 and a skinny black bear 🐻 and got your opportunity and most of it. What more could you ask for outside of having your predator tags 🏷️ and your 280 AI
Haha good point! -Dan
Go and hunt all you can, it comes to an end before you know it!!!!
Awesome video!!! I love the Evolution Hyde. I killed my bull last year with one and my antelope this year with one watched both animals die they are devastating. You and Brian convinced me to use them and I will never go back. Thanks for the amazing content and information.
That's what I like to hear! Thanks for watching man and congrats on the clean kills as that is the true trophy! -Dan
Uhhh what's the story with the OE knife? Donated to the hills or is this where all the bulls die?
Killer film boys.
Oh just thought it was a cool shot, thanks for watching! -Dan
What’s the bear fence you have there?
Its just a hot wire horse fence. -Dan
Wonder how it is with antlers like these they're not used effectively as a serious deterent against wolves even Grizzly, one stab can be lethal or a hard head sweep with them bruise and even break bones...!
Seems they don't realize antlers aren't just for impressing the ladies and fighting other stags but super serious weapons...!
You forgot your knife.
Private property hunting guide and outfit.
Nice try but no... this is DIY back country with my high school buddy. -Dan
Should learn not to push an animal after the shot
Terrible arrow flight and yldidnt lead the walking bull that is why the hit was sum what back not because he was trying to stay back
Whatever you say...I would never lead a slow walking bull at 15 yds. You're just asking yo shoot em in the shoulder when you do that.
Seems like it did the job to me
@@danpickar5442 Ignore the haterz!
Tell me you’ve never hunted before without saying you’ve never hunted before. Bad take bud.
@jakesnyder4199 dude I've killed over 200 deer with a bow, yes I've not killed an elk but I've also been working in a bowshop my entire life and I see the small thing!
I also used to shoot buckmasters and we shot moving targets at various distances and even at 20yds you still have to lead the target! If he had lead slightly and the arrow been tuned better that bull would not have elwent 100yds!!!
He stated that the elk went 300yds, using an expandable broadhead and being in a very open area saved him from either having a very hard time finding that bull or possibly loosing the bull.
Watch the shot again, you'll see the arrow kick tail left hard coming out of the bow and never recovered before hitting the bull
