I love this book! And show!
I love this version and miss it compared to their new version. I'm glad I can come here and see the original version.
Agree 100 percent!
100% agree
Agreed!
Fantastic show, one of the best I've ever seen! I wish they would put it on DVD, or at least CD - the music is incredible, needs to be seen in person....
I love this versions Ghost of Christmas Present. She had me on the floor laughing lol XD
I completely agree! I like the new woman’s performance, but this versions Ghost of Christmas Present did such an excellent job every year!
Thanks for recording this performance. The old music track was so much better than the new one.
Dave Wallace as Scrooge is sheer perfection, he moved me to tears every single year with Little Altar Boy. It is not the same and never will be without him.
My entire childhood was spent at silver dollar city!!❤️ And since I can’t go this year because of corona this is absolutely perfect! Thank you so much!!
I miss this so much so many memories
Scrooge's voice is even more perfect in person
I first saw this show when I was 8 years old, and I've been a theatre kid ever since! At one point, I knew all the songs by heart, down to the choreography! Thank you so much for posting!
No problem. It is a great show.
The Grinch parody was a pleasant surprise! Great adaptation of a great story.
Thanks. I needed this. We always see it in person. Every year.
We went to Silver Dollar City last Thursday and it was my first time watching a Christmas play! I have known this story for so long and seeing it being acted out live was so magical! I enjoyed it a lot and I loved the songs!
I loved this show. I went this year and they changed every song. It was all different, I was so disappointed.
Watched this show last night and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen
I love that Christmas Carol, they do a very beautiful job
Grew up going to SDC and this and the train were 2 staples every year. Sad ill miss it again this year but planning for another trip maybe next year.
I did too! This was my mom and my favorite show. Every year we go, we have to watch it at least twice. I hate that they changed the show some and the songs. It was perfect the way it was written, especially with songs they pulled from other songwriters and movies. It’s definitely not the same, but the newest version is way better than the first revision they produced after Covid. The version they used right after Covid made me so mad and it was very degrading to the original, in my opinion.
Thank you for posting!! They do an AMAZING job! Already seen it this year :)
I have been to go this show almost every year since I was born. And sadly, this will be the third time I will miss going to Silver Dollar City.
So, Thank you so much! For making this recording.
Your welcome. Hopefully we all get to watch this in person next year.
@@johnychen I hope and wish for such a thing. So dearly I would like it. Thank you...
This is very professional! Thank you!
Got to see the show in SDC, and also be in it at the Tulsa PAC. What a wonderful show. I was looking for this show on UA-cam for awhile now because I wanted to rewatch it, and I finally found it!!
Shay Pool cool 😎
We have watched this show every year for 15 straight. It is a shame we won't get to see it this year due to Covid. At least I can watch the video here. I really wish they would make a CD of the songs for this show and It's a Wonderful Life. Great shows...every time.
I miss this so much. This years is good, but can’t top the old one. I’m hopeful that it’ll evolve just like this one
One of the best theme park shows, and I grew up going to Disney!
My grandparents and I see this show every year multiple times. Incredible production.
One of my favorite things at Christmas time. Stupid COVID making silver dollar not allowed to have the show.
The script was taken from the Kelsey Grammer version of 2004. But this was a lot better!
I like that the use the polar express song on scrooge past
Love this show
The tiny Tim part always makes me sad wether it’s the muppets Christmas carol or the Original or the whole entire Christmas Carol I love the Christmas carols thank you Charles dickens thank you
The Ghost of Christmas Present stole the show .. 😝
This version is pretty funny

I want to apply of this in school and the ghost of future. What is sick
This has been such a great show at SDC for a couple of decades. We went to see the show in 2022 in December and they removed all the traditional songs that were true to the Scrooge story and they ruined it. It brought me great sadness to hear a bunch of new songs I had no connection with. I am not sure why the producer decided to "update" this show, but they need to fire that producer and go back to the "almost perfect" way that it has always been.
It had nothing to do with the producers "updating" the show. Majority of the songs came from "Scrooge: The Musical" and they decided not to renew the rights to SDC. The music never belonged to SDC. SDC had to either change the songs or not do the show at all. It was out of their control.
@@cosmoose_ So ... didn't SDC just decide they didn't want to pay the song royalties anymore? That's what I had assumed. It would be unusual for copyright owners to just say "nah, we don't want your money anymore". There were a few songs from the Broadway play, a few from the Albert Finney version from the early 70's, one from Polar Express, and then I think my favorite number, song + choreography of all was "You're a Mean One, Mr. Scrooge" which was of course a parody of the original from How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Be weird if all of those copyright holders said "no" at the same time, much less ... at all. Unless they were raising their price (though I don't know if they can do that - don't know that they can't, either).
They "re-wrote" the songs ... just barely. They altered the melodies slightly and changed the lyrics to express the same things ... they ended up much less clever and/or poetic. The songs they'd been using were SO good, that's part of why it has been so popular for so long. I think if it is as I suspect, SDC is shooting itself in the foot here. I think it went from a top-notch fantastic show to a an ok, so-so pretty good show.

That one makes me laugh
Anyone know where you can get the licensing rights?
I'd suggest contacting D.A Callaway. He's one of the heads of live entertainment at the park, he maybe able to point you in the right direction.
