Hey Doodlers! Im so excited to share with you that I've created an advanced class for Doodly whiteboard animators! 🔥🔥🔥I show you all of my best workarounds to make your Doodles really come to life. Check it out at www.jennjager.com.
Did you use the 1-time payment version (without any addition hidden fees)? Thanks
@@peterquynhle uu
@@peterquynhle I did and then Upgraded to Enterprise edition promising even more, and then found a HEAP of hidden fees for things i needed, feels like Doodly is a huge cash grab to me, pretty dissapointed
Thanks for this great comparison Jenn. I love your style, easy to follow and understand!
hey Jenn, thanks for this nice video featuring whiteboard animator tools. I loved your presentation, it's very neat and clean 👏👏
Thanks Jenn,
Great job! I have a free trial right now of Videoscribe and I mostly like it so far.
You just explained camera position and gave me info on the timings of things...
to me a lot quicker than i was going to figure it out from reading the support documents. So thank you!
Karen Waggoner where to get free trial for iphone? I can’t find any free trial? Downloading will cost something
Great job. Very unbiased and just what I needed to see some of the options available. Had not heard of Doodly and I now have another platform to consider. Thanks.
My mom sent me this and I'm glad she did. Subscribed! You have the prefect personality for this.
I love your videos, they have been very helpful . i'm surprised you don't have more subscribers your content is quite awesome .
Great info on the comparison of the two doodle products. Enjoyed your other video on Toonly also. I have subscribed and will definitely start going through your other videos. Thank you!
Thank you, Jenn! What I do like very much in Video scribe is, that I can import my own illustrations as svg files. That makes my videos really individuell !
That's a great idea!
Thanks for your honest review, I like the way you explain things, very clear and honest. Im going to get videoscribe but sadly you dont have aff link to buy from ^^
Great video, thanks for your insights and recommendations
Great video, Jenn! Thank you for this useful information. 😊
Bill Costello
Your the best instructor ever. I like how you try different things and explain your thinking as you go. This helps retention of material. Also, tell your husband he is a lucky guy. Will definitely look for more of your videos.
Lol thanks!
This is a really great video Jenn. I am looking to start virtual training and wan to add video scribe or something similar to my toolbox.
You explain so well :) THANK YOU! I can't wait for your Apple Motion video.
Thank you Jenn, excellent comparison and very helpful
Hi Jenn, Thank you very much for the video. You did a great job! I really love the way you explained everything. I have become a fan of yours. Thanks for giving us such wonderful information unbiasedly
You are so welcome!
You are awesome, clear explanations, beautiful voice and very detailed. Thanks :)
Hello Jenn! Thanks for the video! I watched it a couple of months ago and decided starting using VideoScribe. And now...I LOVE it! I have even created my own channel with motivation videos thanks to you. Many many thanks!!!😊😘😀😘👍😀p.s. I am from Poland💕
Hi, Jen! You are brilliant! thank you very much for your support to all of us who need to know about the reviews.
My pleasure!
Hi Jenn
Thanks so much for your video. It was so clear. I really liked you taking us through the steps you took to improve the output bit by bit. Now subscribed :-)
Jenn, this was another helpful, great review. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting for me. Now I have a much better idea of what I need to buy.
What are you buying Lewis ? kindly share as i am also in the middle of the decision to buy between doodly and videoscribe? my preference is variety and professionality
Wow , where did you learn to be so diplomatic , I've never come across someone with such smooth diplomacy skills, bravo ... and thanks for the video.. Loved it.
Hi Jenn, I have decided to get Videoscribe as I think both Doodly and Videoscribe share most of the features with some difference. What I like about Videoscribe is that its pricing range seems to be better than Doodly. Anyway, your tutorial proved to be very helpful to me in finalizing what to settle on. Thank you once again.
Clear & Crisp. Thanks for the awesome video.
Love your reviews, you are extremely informative . One suggestion is to compare using the same videos, like the Doodly video.
Thanks so much for this. VERY WELL done! We use Doodly and are considering adding Videoscribe to the mix. Agree totally with your Doodly assessment so that gives us confidence.
Superb! Loved the explanation.
Having tried both of these, in my opinion nothing beats the customizability that comes with adobe after effects + illustrator for whiteboard videos. I have a few videos on my channel of my whiteboard videos. I use a drawing tablet to make my illustrations in illustrator using simple strokes and use the trim paths in after effects to animate them. You can pretty much do anything, any style.
It’s got a steep learning curve though
why did you stop making videos ?
really liked this video.. I've looked at both and think there isn't much between them - I thought your video was really informative - thanks a lot!
Thank you for an excellent introduction to the two programs.
As a fist-time comparison, it is very informative, thank you. However, perhaps the comparison should be made by crafting the same video using the two different platforms and see the end result. For starters, the way you animated your text makes it look rather 'unnatural' and 'skippy'. This is usually solved by dedicating more time to testing different animation times until the writing looks more 'natural. For example, a sentence animated in 1 second will look really bad... just a hand with a marker and all of a sudden a string of words just show. Conversely, one word animated in 8 seconds will be more like a slow-motion of a hand writing it. It takes a little trial and error to fine tune both the animation and the transition times to make the animation look smooth.
For images, as one gets more experienced, there are other ways to create your own and animate your own without necessarily relying on what's on videoscribe's library. One way is to learn how to make SVG files using Inkscape (free), for example, that process is not at all very complicated and it pays off to learn how to create SVGs with an animation path that will make them look incredibly natural when animated. That, combined with the ability to use your own hand (and writing tool) is a feature that is rather nice in Videoscribe. Regarding music, you don't have to use VideoScribe's music library, which I agree still needs some work. However, you can import your own MP3 files.
Depending on what level of work one is planning, just the scribe (regardless of the tool used to make it) may not be enough. I usually combine the video produced with VideoScribe with other elements, as part of a final video production. The initial videoscribe video can sometimes be further edited when incorporated into a larger project.
I guess the point is that with experience using it, every platform will deliver great results. It definitely beats having to do the writing on a white board, having a good camera to film it, and then countless hours of video editing. Having a tool that allows a relatively low-cost production of a white animation video is great. While videos made with Apple Motion, or any other video producing suites look great, the power of combining whiteboard animation with imagery seems to enhance the impact on the viewer, and it seems to help them remember more of the information when presented like that. Here is an example of a video I made with VideoScribe, when the platform didn't have many of the tools it now has. It shows two different 'custom' hands and painting tools. The music was and MP3 made using Garageband. The final video rendered using Camtasia only to add title frames ant the beginning and the end.

You have such a soothing and calming voice. Can listen to your instructions for hours. Tku for making this review.
Jenn I found your videos on software really good. Thank you very much.
Gr8 video. New to the ideas and I appreciate the input.
Thanks for sharing, I got to check out the basic ver of Doodly too~
Hi, I totally enjoyed this review, I am looking at this venue to promote my life coaching business courses and books, I am going to watch your Doodly video now. I want to make a character of myself, can I do that with a photo of myself. By the way, you are an excellent presenter. thanks
super useful and nice presentations!!!
Thk u Jenn for the comparison work. It help alot. Subd n liked :)
Thank you, it was very helpful!
Thank you. Big help for me.
U are amazing..
Thanks for the lesson. Waiting for ur next video
That was excellent, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Jenn, another great review. Great job.
Thank you!
Jenn...you are good. You are balanced which makes your reviews stand out above the crowd!
Thank you!
Hello Jenn, thanks for making videos, it’s really helpful for us like budding freelancers, I’m confused to buy toonly or doodly since both of these software’s are giving options. Could you please do a companrison video or a toonly video? Hope you will notice this message. Lots of love 💓
i really apreciate your help with dowloanding this software
I was considering buying Doodly and your reviews were really helpful! Thank you.
Glad I could help!
Thank you for the video. It helped me decide. I went with Doodly for now, but i am thinking long term to also try Videoscribe. As an amateur it took me about 40 hours of work for my first 5 min video, but I can only get better:)))
Hi. How are you finding the experience?
Found you on fambit, pretty cool video thanks!
Hi! Thanks for your authentic review once again! One request - can you kindly create a review on voicemod, please.
Great review !!!
I am new to your channel. What about reviewing Doodleoze?
Again, I checked your playlists and I think this is the channel I have been looking for that teaches about anything about videos. I have just subscribed and clicked on the notification button...Cheers
Great job with an informative non-bias comparison. Apple motion looked fantastic, no offense to the other two programs they have a place in the market for sure. After googling Motion and discovering that it is part of the pro apps bundle for $200.00 makes me very interested in getting a new IPAD pro with the M1. Speculation is that it will be able to use the full pro bundle. I'm not even a creator....Yet!
This is one of the best reviews i saw in UA-cam! Well done!
Just a mention, maybe it's a new feature, but if you click on Letter menu name text, there is a Plus symbol lower right corner that appears and will enable font uploads also allows you to give them custom names which I liked.
You now can import custom fonts in Doodly
Which animation platform can be used on a chtomebook?
Thank You!
Great review ... really interested in Apple Motions ... as I am a new Mac user.
This is great. I'm wanting to use Whiteboard animation on my channel.
Very helpful. Thanks!
A truly delightful video! (And what a nice person you must be..... declining to judge! giving everyone a prize!) FIVE STARS!!
Awesome vid! You’re a great presenter. Would you do a tutorial on how you created that apple motion video? I’d watch that for sure.
I just bought doodly but throwing up in my mouth at the upsell signup process. The ‘one time offers’ are just too much, and I think I’ll ask for a refund because most of the images are locked behind in-app purchases.
Simon Goode that means have to pay more all the time
Thanks for this. They can never explain this. Untill you fall in... I just to get better software
Thought I was the only one feeling like I got suckered into the'one-time' offer... If you want colour, it's an extra purchase...if you want emotions, its an extra purchase... Thank God I'm still within my 30 days window
Thank you for sharing this before I pay 67
wow. this is actually pretty good. thx
Hi Jenn. Very helpful... I watched both Doodly videos and this one. Still not sure which way to go... my biggest concern is the time commitment to learn how to use the products, when I am already spinning plates. I don't like the default option of slide show videos (this is course content, not marketing), but I just don't know if i will be able to put in the time to create quality animated videos. Any thoughts on learning curve/implementation time (I got the "no 60 second videos" point!) would be appreciated. Thanks.
I liked so much this video !!!!!
Thank's Jane!! I want to know with which one software I can do the voice of the description.
you are great! thnx a lot!
Hi Jenn... This is good but I am really looking for a video that will look like Prager U's.. is that a software or a combination of different stuffs??
Thank you for your help!
I created a whiteboard animation for a client and ended up buying both Videoscribe and Doodly (commercial use versions). In the end, I created it in videoscribe- after finding a work around for custom paths using an SVG technique. However- I had so many problems with things “moving out of place” as well as exporting glitches, that I would NOT recommend videoscribe for making a video with lots of custom artwork. I also had to do the audio completely separate. Next time, I’ll attempt to use Doodly- but may have to move to after effects or something more advanced.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing your story.
@@JennJager, Jeremy:
I'm using Videoscribe for ilustrating my talks instead of slides at IT conferences, and it's possible that soon I'll be making UA-cam videos with it. I admit it has its quirks which I would very much like to go away, the most annoying being the default values for drawing time and transitions, and that the camera zooms in by default. I would like to have the option to customize the defaults at the beginning of my work with the video, so that I don't have to set things manually for each objects, but also that the default actions are the ones I want. But apart from that I'm pretty happy with Videoscribe.
Two tricks that may help you:
1. For sound recording I use Audacity. It comes with a ton of options and it's free. This way I can edit the sound, turn it into MP3 and import in Videoscribe then.
2. The drawing hand follows lines specified in the SVG file of the object. So even though Videoscribe does not allow to change the way the object is drawn, we can edit the SVG file in another program (e.g. Inkspace) and with this tell Videoscribe how to draw it. It's tedious, though, and requires some graphic skills (which I don't have). Instead, if I really want to have an object drawn in a certain way, I cut it into a few parts and display them in Videoscribe one after another exactly in the places where they were in the original drawing. This way I make the hand to first draw the first part, then the second, and so on. Not as subtle as making the hand follow actual lines of the drawing, but good enough for me :)
You are a great teacher. Thank you!
Very helpful video. I draw my own graphics for almost all of my instruction videos. It sounds like doodly is the better option for me, correct? I want to import diagrams and have the system redraw them for me.
Good video thanks
I tried both and my preference is Doodly. Videoscribe is not as intuitive and is very difficult to synch voice to animation. It always ran out of synch. I did my first video 2.5 minutes long in 5 hours and it took the same time with VideoScribe with a 45 seconds video. The problem is just getting things to synched and aligned.
Amazing comparisons!! I really took my time to decide on which of them I should go for. I choose videoscribe because of the drawings and illustrations that makes the drawing come more to life but it's way too expensive. $950 For lifetime??? I prefer using it to purchase a laptop or a camera for my future UA-cam animations😜😜 so I went for Doodly and I'm okay using it without the illustrations. thank you
Hi , I bought Doodly clicking on your link ..... Your Welcome :) . I Bought an upsell aswell of 97$ PressPlay and i think i made a mistake there . Can you review that product for me please ? Keep up the Good work !
You can import fonts to Doodly as well, I do it all the time.
You have a very nice way of presenting videos, not too over the top / sensensational, found this quite relaxing as well as informative. Thank you.
I am really thankful for this video💙 how detailed is it😃
Glad it was helpful!
@@JennJager exactly 😊
This was a great video. The way you review software is so awesome. Can you please also review Doodle Maker?
Doodle maker is a non professional software which cannot be compared with doodly or videoscribe. It is a rough compilation of different features but end result is not satisfactory. Although it offers a huge collection of pixabay images but that is of no use in making doodle images. Drawing options are also very limited. I have deluxe package but highly unsatisfied with that.
Thank you so much for your comparison video. You have covered almost all the main points in your video. Now I have a clear picture about these 2 whiteboard softwares. Once again Thank you.
Can you pls do a review on the Doodke maker ? And can you pls suggest me a best whiteboard software based on your experience & knowledge ? ( I am planning to create some educational videos or informative videos on diseases & its treatments, but I am not a professional in video editing & all. So pls help me on which software to choose to have somany viewers )
wow, i am new to channel , very helpful' thank you so much
Hey! Videoscribe does let you export the watermarked version. You just have to wait when the Rendering pop-up window comes up and not click on the link that would take you to pricing. It takes time to export, about 2-5 mins., but it does provide the feature :) :)
From where do you get the voice over..it sounds awesome
do i need a super +900$ laptop for this software or i can do it with daily laptpo?
thanks
Hi, I'm a physics teacher and I would like to do my sessions using this way if you can help me with that?
Hi thank you so much ,I want to make a historical story for my children which program can be easy for me?
Perfect tutorial :D
Hello! Thank you Jenn for your videos, I am learning tons!, My objective is create videos for teaching Spanish and Math, what would you recommend as far as equipment and software?, I saw your video on Final Cut and it seems like a Mac would be a good editor (thinking of doing like you are doing, a combo of me talking and white board showing the formulas) If you have time to please drop me a line with suggestions, I would really appreciate it ! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL !
Thank you and all the best :)
thank you for the video, you are great!!! i had already bought doodly when i got to your film, i was able to upload any of my fonts to doodly even fonts in semantic languages ie Hebrew or Arabic and they had an option of having the text got right to left. which not all programs have especially the old version of after effects. and bought the upgrade version so that i would have commercial rights, if you know of a program that works more efficiently than Indesign, using multiple languages including hebrew or arabic ones, i would appreciate knowing. thank you again for great work.
Thanks for the comparisons. Do you have an update on Videocribe for 2021?
How long to do in Apple motion and scribe/doodle, realizing u r limited in scribe/doodle. Learning curve motion/Ae vs scribe/doodle? Great video.
Hi there, Nice video! just one question...what software did you use to create the video you showed us at the end? can you plz provide a link?
Hi, I made it in Apple Motion. Great Program.
Great video. Thanks.
Finnally now this channel is actually gonna be consistent
Luv ur videos..,really helpful
Glad you like them!
You've done so nice, please tell us about the export timings. Videoscribe is taking 10 times and even more than video length.
If I'm exporting half-hour video with voiceover it took me 7 hours approx.
Is their any Software for whiteboard animation for explaining Geometry (Maths) Solution???????? which images of Geometrical Tools (compass, scale, protractor, set square etc.)
Hi, Jen!
I'm learning to use Videoscribe and it's not as easy as they say in the tutorials. On your video you say there is a check button on the right handside corner which you can click if you want to get rid of the camera zooming in at the end of each step. Well, there isn't such a button in my trial version. I can't find it anywhere. Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Im a physics teacher. Im looking for the best way to represent non standard scientific symbols (setting up equations, including calculus symbols, callouts, etc). What software would work best for this?
You can use videoscribe instead. Im video scribe you can create your own image using illustrator or inkscsape(free)..
