It’s absolutely unfair to have both Rocker and Leiter leading a college rotation. I feel bad for all these teams that have to face these dudes on back to back days. I’m excited to see how far Vandy makes it in the CWS this year!
You know back when Glasnow was a pirate (aka "Glasnever") you could tell an abject lack.of faith in his defense messed with his head... and Glasnow was never gonna develop as a pirate. His buddy Taillon did fine in PIT but he eventually got sickly and then ouchy and next thing you know it's TJ surgery then hey Taillon is a Yankee!

Yeah this kid is dominant, and only throws fastballs! I mean he has secondaries but his heat is so devastating, you can't touch him when he's on the pirates might have a golden goose with him
Throwing hard alone has never been enough to propel a player to stardom. A pitcher relies on changing speeds and movement as much as he does velocity. Major league hitters will eventually get the timing down to hit a pitch of any speed. You need the art of deception to fool batters by preventing them from knowing what pitch you are throwing until it is too late. If you throw a pitch with the same exact arm movement and release point of your fastball but its ten miles per hour slower it messes up the hitters timing and causes him to whiff or hit it off the end of the bat for a pop up or weak ground ball.
Tyler Beede was also a first round pick from Vandy 14th overall to the Giants. Has shown promise at time but is now coming back from TJ but his career is still young.
He 100% was a cheat code in high school. Watching him enter the game in the 7th against SHP in the state semi-finals and strike out the side was something else. You could just see their entire team accept they had already lost as soon as he entered the game.

control and variety of pitch are needed. i didn't see that in those pitches displayed. he needs to learn more about pitching from the great pitchers of the past - or just pick up a few books and learn the craft better. the change-up grip at 7:34 isn't right at all. it will give miniscule lateral movement, but it will not drop as much as a two-seam rotation would. how come none of these pitchers picks up a physics textbook and studies? two Mexican pitchers, Estrada and Santana both threw change-ups with the incorrect grip; a four-seam rotation...which goes to show, how much ignorance MLB players even in top-form possess. i didn't see a fork-ball. i didn't see a ball that zig-zags. i saw an electric fastball. i saw a curve-ball - which works, but isn't going to strike many out - it just hangs up there. the minors are for developing all of the above. even in the majors they don't teach pitchers the finer nuances - the pitching coaches seldom impress. but that's where his father comes in. Al Leiter was a lefty that threw almost 3/4 maximum height - using the trajectory to his advantage. Al Leiter had a curveball-slider. but, that it's it. so - i'm guessing his son will do fine, but not awesome. Roy Halladay is the name that comes to mind, where a young man decided to improve his game, by improving his knowledge of how to pitch. Halladay learned how not to throw the ball straight, but add movement. none of Halladay's pitches were ever straight - they always had an up to down movement, or a left to right zig-zag. that's why Halladay was so good - he knew.
