    Regarding what Mr Gammon stated about Trump's tariff's....I work as a Account Payable rep for a company that designs and imports good from outside factories. Once the tariffs was engaged against China, the container cost jumped from approx. $400 - 800 per to $10,000 and up. So, the cost of goods increases and that is what hurting Americans.

    Maybe he could go back and look at what actually happened when we did increase tarrifs. He sort of tried but his argument was that quality of domestic products was worse. I dont recall that. I remember overseas shipping increase and a large domestic manufacturing increase. Products at Walmart didn't increase until late 2019 like everything else. If we have to take care of all these migrants, we better bring some manufacturing back here for the 8 million+ jobs that they need. I think he has a lot of good points otherwise.

    When Trump said he wants to eliminate federal income taxes and use tariffs for income then I am in favor for taxing foreign products and not taxing USA people. This will cause manufacturing to return to USA and this will cause competition in the USA products so the prices will fall. Just remember that not long ago all products were made in USA. USA had the industrial revolution that made most of the products. The corporations will collapse if they cannot compete in USA. So saying that prices will rise may not be justified especially when computerized machines are used to lower prices. Also, made in USA has no ocean shipping costs.

    • @tedcavanaugh8660

      The dollar is probably going to crash first (under Biden/Kamala), making US citizens poor, but US labor cheap... and in that environmentany companies will bring their manufacturing to the US to hire poor Americans to make things.
      We're just trading places with China... but Trump is going to sell that inflation as growth, and sell our slave labor as "prosperity".

    • @waynewilcox4776

      Keep dreaming and keep smoking the hopium. We don't have a manufacturing workforce in this country, and we are not going to see one miraculously show up because of tariffs. All we're going to have are shitty companies making overpriced, shitty products for a captive market.

    • @user-si9wp1cj8m
      @user-si9wp1cj8m Місяць тому

      It seems that at present, there's no incentive for USA manufacturing because we can't complete with cheap foreign goods and labor. So, wouldn't tariffs level the field and encourage US production again? What am I missing? Building the manufacturing plants would create tons of jobs, too, like a new industrial revolution, right?

    I don’t think M2 money supply going down means as much as 1929. M2 can continue to drop without causing inflation to drop. People today unlike in 1929 have credit cards and 401k’s to milk which is a huge supply of funds to keep prices rising. Also today the government is spending trillions on social programs that didn’t exist in 1929. And sending billions if not trillions into the banking system through the back door to prop up the banks. Who knows what other shadow money’s are being pumped in the stock and bond markets.

    Probably all the states and their counties too, charge sales taxes. The tariffed goods jack up the prices and the municipal state then is able to collect more taxes per item. Even if the merchandise become more American made in quantity, the collected taxes increase. IF people do not forego buying such merchandise.

      Don't trust the banks! I had a check for several thousand dollars. I wanted to cash it and keep all the money and not in my account. The bank would only let me take half. Had to wait for over a week to get the rest. They also asked me what I was going to do with it. I was furious and asked them why they wanted to know. They claimed that there are a lot of scammers out there and they were doing it for "security reasons." I told them that I knew what goes on. A couple of days later, I got a call from someone in corporate. Again she wanted to know what I was going to do with it and again I refused to a. Once again she claimed that it was only for my "safety." - if someone is scammed the money is gone and can't be recouped. I told her I knew all about it. She sounded nervous and a little upset. I'm expecting one more check and I assume I'll go through this scenario again. I don't believe for one minute it's about "scammers." I only keep enough money in my account to pay bills and that's it! I have a bank credit card and one other. I use it on occasion and only when I know I'll have the money in my account before I receive the bill so I never pay interest (bet they love me!)

    I can't buy his argument that tariffs cause manufacturers to produce less. He bases this claim on his experiences in foreign countries, not the US. Different cultures there.

    So your guest is telling us that he thinks the corporate tax (the really rich) should pay 15% while I, as a teacher, pay 27%. Sounds like a rich guy wanting to pay less tax while the middle class carries the tax burden. Great!

    So those American businesses that are overseas to get cheap labor get tariffs as well . If that was the case then they should move back to the United States jobs would be on short and everything would be better because then we would be producing Goods and there would be more jobs disregard my last text that was a voice text that had Tourette's trying to do that when I was driving and I didn't feel like proofreading

    • @Woof728
      @Woof728 Місяць тому

      Trump started giving overseas, American businesses incentives to return home and a couple did . He didn't want us to be so dependent upon China for our manufactured goods which is like 90%. The Democrats sent our manufacturing to China and other countries by giving China them Free Trade status and passing N.A.F.T.A. sending our jobs to Mexico and Canada. Bye, bye America.

    I suggest not underestimating how the wages brought back to employees of the US in conjunction with a tariff, move money in our economy, rather than an overseas economy. It will build jobs and peasant wealth, not only inflate COG. ( I know. I hate unions also. But this keeps cash in the country. Maybe some neighbors move up to having carrots for the kids to eat, rather than Bojangles.)
    I would throw out a suggestion of a 30% tariff where needed to keep a route from occurring. Seems like 100% is downright not likely to leave any competition to benefit the consumer at all. I know each case is unique.
    Lynette and George, what a great combination!

      Trump supports bitcoin too, now. That's because our wonderful government wants to go to digital currency so that every transaction you make, every cent you spend or every penny you receive will be recorded. They'll be able to call the shots soon by controlling everything including your life. It's part of the W.E.F. 16 year plan. It's on their website. "You will own nothing and be happy." Crypto can't be traced that's why they'll try to get rid of it! Gold and silver too are safe as long as you keep it at home and not in storage! If you buy gold, don't get the bars because the government can easily confiscate it but they won't do it with coins. Best to buy pre-1933 collectible coins or if you can't afford gold, invest in silver. Prices for both will skyrocket in a crash. Don't keep your money in the bank. Leave just enough to pay bills!

    He’s still an over fertile mind….
    Rates began rising in October of 2021…..the Sped didn’t even begin to raise rates until March of 2022…..
    The mind of the market controls rates on treasuries, not the Sped.
    The Sped controls bank behavior….and buys up the assets of the failures.
    By the way, Janet has to roll nearly 4 trillion over the next 16 months or so….she’s currently issuing more short term debt than long term…debt needs to roll off or over….
    How’s your faith and confidence going…???
