I heard someone else say that Obama would run as the VP under Harris and that she would step down handing B Obama the presidency. No ! He has done enough damage.

A president who has already served two terms is constitutionally ineligible for the presidency, and thus ineligible for the vice presidency.
Obama has already served two terms, so it isn't possible. He's ineligible for the presidency and thus ineligible for the vp as well. He can't be taken as a VP for someone.

Barrack is NOT constitutionally ineligible to hold the office though. He is only ineligible if he were to get there via an election process. The words used matter, unfortunately in this case.

That will likely take a SCOTUS interpretation. Technically, Obama is not INeligible to the office of President. He is only ineligible to be ELECTED to the office of president. He could be appointed to the office if Harris died in office. The better catch is in the 22nd Amendment.. which also says if a VP serves more than half the term as a replacement, he can only run for office once. Since Obama has already run twice, he wouldn't eligible unless Harris appointed him AFTER having served at least half her term.
Rickards said in JANUARY that Biden would be out by June. He was closer than anyone else! Off by two weeks!

I don't believe it could happen. A VP who ascends to the throne can only be elected to the presidency ONCE if he serves more than half the term as the replacement. Since Obama has been elected twice, he could only replace Harris as president if he was appointed to the Vice-presidency AFTER she had already served half her term..... so he could only be appointed to the VP after she had served half her term.

Technically, she could appoint Obama to the VP after having served at least half her term. The 22nd says he can't be elected to the presidency more than twice. And it says if he was elevated to the presidency as a vice president, he can only be elected to the presidency ONCE if he serves more than half the replacement term as president. Since Obama has been elected twice, he could only serve as president again if the VP either died or resigned, and Harris appointed him VP AFTER SHE HAD SERVED OVER HALF HER TERM. So he cannot be elected as VP NOW. He could technically be appointed after she has served half her term.
So bottom line, we need to root for the Gang of Eight. Kamala/Barack would be scary.

The constitutionality of a two-term President serving as Vice President is ambiguous and would likely require judicial interpretation or congressional action to resolve definitively. While there are compelling arguments on both sides, the matter remains unresolved in constitutional law.

As someone who always strongly supported Trump, I believe JD was a good choice; but I would have chosen others - like Tim Scott, Bryon Donald, Dr. Ben Carson, or Larry Elder. As much as I like Trump, he does not have sufficient support from people who identify as members of certain groups.
He has more support among "certain groups" than most people think.
The more you know about JD the more you like him. Republican Party just hit a grand slam by choosing JD Vance.
JD was picked to nail down WI, MI, PA. None of the other candidates such as Marco Rubio, Dr. Carson, Byron Donalds, Tim Scott, Doug Burgum, DiSantis, Haley, Larry Elder, etc., has a ghost of a chance of delivering even just one of those swing states.
The GOP under Trump has pivoted to the working class in urban areas and the rural voters. The working class both white and non-white is where the GOP can expand its base. JD is best placed to appeal to the working class because he’s one of them and has identified with them and fought for them for years.
Another important virtue JD brings to Trump is his ability to raise funds. None of the others with the possible exception of Burgum can match JD’s fund raising prowess. Burgum is a billionaire and possibly wealthier than Trump. But he’s also the man whom Rupert Murdoch did his utmost best to foist on Trump.

There is the 10 year max rule.
North Carolina is not a swing state and I'm tired of people pretending it is. Trump's been ahead in Nevada, comfortably, for a long time. If he got that and NE-2, which he's ranging from tied to up 4 depending on the poll, that'd be 269. 268 is his floor with Nevada. If he got ME-AL on top of this, which is also close, that'd be 2 more, so 270-271. That's his 'easiest' path. Then you add in that Trump is somewhat comfortably ahead in PA, WI and MI. Whitmer will likely not be as helpful to Biden this time around as she's been floated for the top spot, so her motivation is to ensure Biden loses. She goes nowhere if he wins. Of the 3 rust belt states to flip, MI is the most likely for Trump to win. From there, you have NH, VA, and NM as the next likely to go his way, followed by NJ, OR and MN based on historical data; but given that polls have not yet caught up to right now, this is likely where the race stands today. Next would be NY, WA, CT, RI, HI and IL.
