In the absence of Mariya Lasitskene, Yaroslava Mahuchikh of Ukraine was the overwhelming favourite, going into the Championships with her season's best of 2.03m. Iryna Herashchenko of Ukraine and bronze medallist of the 2022 World Athletics Championships, Italy's Elena Vallortigara were the only other competitors in the field who cleared 2.00m earlier in the season. In the final only two athletes cleared 1.95m, with Mahuchikh securing the win on countback and Montenegro's Marija Vuković finally winning her first major international medal with silver. 17-year-old Angelina Topić took bronze. The winning height of 1.95m was the lowest in Championships' history since 1974.

Who is better - not even close. Mahuchikh is # 1 in the world for a good reason. Vukovic is a very good jumper but will never clear 2.06 like Yaroslava has done. But Vukovic a clear winner on the circuit when it comes to playing to the camera.
You are right my friend. The really competition for Yeroslava are Eleanor Patterson and Mariya Lasitskene. But really like the energy and smile of Marija Vukovic.
@@jeksports1 Here's another way of looking at it. Yaroslava cleared 2.00 six times in 2022. Patterson cleared 2.00 two times. Lasitskene cleared 2.00 two times.

@@jeksports1 I would love to see Chicherova back in competition. She jumped 1.94 back in February when she was a few months shy of her 40th birthday. I thought she would continue and break the over 40 record which has stood for many years. But we've heard nothing else from her.

Non capisco perché Yaroslava non usa il braccio destro per darsi slancio,invece che alzarlo solo verso l'asta!
Il problema più importante per Yaroslava non è nell'uso del braccio destro. Di elevazione ne ha a sufficienza per fare anche il RM. Deve invece migliorare nel richiamo delle gambe. Tante volte è in ritardo e questo compromette il salto. Può migliorare ancora un po' anche sull'inarco dorsale che tra l'altro aiuterebbe il richiamo degli arti.
