- Back in the late 90s, a game was almost ready for release... but wasn't officially published. We eventually got it on a cover disc, albeit still quite broken.
Fast forward to 2023, and in an AB3DIITKGWIP-mirroring way, talented and inquisitive developers are once again tweaking code to put right what once went wrong.
EAB thread: eab.abime.net/...

CUCD15: archive.org/de...
Thank you, will have to try this.
I started the thread on eab!
The namedrop makes me feel like an imposter 😂 All I did was load the nerd sniper rifle and aim it at paraj.
Looks longingly at Digital Integration's Tornado. :-)
That could definitely do with some tuning! I last played it a couple of years ago on the '060, and it's just not right.
Thanks for putting both this and the AB3DII update videos together. I remember this CU Amiga coverdisk back in the day, was completely unplayable on my A1200 030. Great to see the source code to these old titles getting reworked and improved. Do you plan to upload any more update videos covering these projects?
Thank you! I’m amazed at just how much better both games are as a result of hard work by the community.
I’m not sure that TFX has undergone further changes since the updates shown, but I do know that AB3DII is getting further updates (including output to RTG). So I may well do a further addendum for the latter.
Breathless has also gotten similar treatment as AB3DII, so expect a video on that in the near future!
👍
I had Pentium 75MHz back in the day and TFX run much smoother than this (evident when launching missiles and in external view). But it's still great to see this game running on Amiga.
I would love if they could fix also stunt car racer to make use of faster CPUs
The game was unfinished and unoptimized. JOTD basically finished the unfinished work. 👍 I wonder how much performance improves with A4000 with recent BFG9060 board running at 060/100MHz.
Interesting, I used to drool over the preview amiga screenshots with promises of being the great next thing. Recently I checked out the PlayStation version and found it runs pretty slowly. The engine must be a bit of a resource hog and I guess it’s a bit to “sim” for my tastes these days.
I've wanted to try the PlayStation version. Downloaded the ISO a while back, so once I get around to setting a Mister up, will give it a go on that.
It played a LOT faster on a 386...
It emulates a 040
Why 3 Times ?
