  • Sold: The seller of this award-winning 1915 Ford Model T Center-Door Sedan Street Rod says it is as fine a street rod as any he has ever sold. He reports an eight-year build process with a $340,000 investment that resulted in class wins at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California, and the Sacramento Autorama. He says the car has won 25-30 trophies all over California. The owner sums up this unique street rod thusly, "This one is a gem."
    POWERTRAIN
The 347-cu.in. "stroker" small-block Ford OHV V8 definitely isn't original to the car and it's hugely more powerful than any stock Model T engine. The seller says the engine was professionally built and is equipped with a Dart crankshaft and connecting rods; JE 10:1 pistons; a Comp Cams street hydraulic roller cam, lifters, and rockers; aluminum cylinder heads; MSD ignition; exhaust headers; and Inglese 8-stack fuel injection. The engine has a serpentine accessory belt system. The detailed engine was a tight fit under the Model T hood and had to be recessed into the firewall area. The seller reports "perfect" cold starts with no smoke, leaks, or weeps. The engine was tuned on a chassis dyno by Full Throttle Kustoms. A Brass Works radiator cools the engine. The Ford 4R70W electronic overdrive four-speed automatic transmission has a Compushift II controller and a Lokar shifter. The seller notes that the transmission shifts perfectly. A custom-made aluminum driveshaft leads to a Jaguar XKE independent rear end that was built by Jag suspension legend, Curt Hamilton.
    EXTERIOR
The rust-free original Wadsworth body was restored with all wood framing and a hardwood headliner designed by Ray Wells. The body was steel reinforced in critical areas, per the seller, who adds that the hood, front and rear fenders, and running boards are from Rootlieb. The body was shot with seven coats of black acrylic enamel and hand-rubbed to perfection before being ceramic coated, according to the seller, who adds that the top is padded like the original. The glass and seals are rated as "A-Plus" by the seller, who adds that all the lighting is functional.
    INTERIOR
The period-style gray cloth interior was stitched by "Jessie" and features fully adjustable slide-away seats for easy ingress and egress, according to the seller, who adds that the carpet, headliner, heater, and air conditioning (from Vintage Air) are all in "A+" condition. He reports that the stereo and AutoMeter gauges all work well. A Flaming River tilt steering column is topped by a wooden Model T steering wheel.
    CHASSIS
The most noticeable suspension component is the Jaguar XKE independent rear suspension, minus the cage and fitted with custom billet lower control arms and bearing hubs. The differential cover was dipped in black chrome. The brakes are from Wilwood, per the seller, who adds that Wilwood discs are also employed on the front TCI chromed and dropped front axle. Power rack-and-pinion steering exhibits no steering play and no power steering leaks, per the seller, who rates the brakes, bushings, and shocks as “A+.” The black chromed Daytona 64-spoke wire wheels are wrapped with Michelin rubber, size P235/75R15 (rear) and 195SR15 (front). The age of the tires was not cited, and DOT date codes are not visible in the images provided.
    DOCUMENTATION
The seller states that he will provide a clean and open California title for the proper transfer of ownership for this vehicle. This 1915 Ford Model T Center-Door Sedan Street Rod took eight years to build at a cost of $340,000, according to the seller.

There's only 35 in existence today? My dad's got one in his garage right now in pieces.
