MATTY'S PATTY'S RECIPE
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 lbs medium ground beef
1 cup yellow mustard
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tbsp diced pickle
1/2 cup diced white onion
8 slices American cheese
4 Martin’s Potato rolls, toasted
DIRECTIONS:
1. Divide meat into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball. Place in refrigerator for a minimum of 30 minutes.
2. Meanwhile make Matty’s Patty’s sauce by mixing mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, pickles, and onion in a bowl
3. Heat a cast-iron pan over medium-high. Place two meatballs in the pan. Immediately flatten using a hamburger press or metal spatula to form two thin patties. Season patties with salt and pepper. Cook patties until brown, about 30 seconds per side. Place one piece of cheese on each patty.
4. Place one patty on the bottom bun, spoon sauce over patty then layer on the second patty and top bun. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.

I spent an entire year cooking burgers 3 times a week, tweaking and perfecting. I came to almost the exact conclusion as Matty. Smash burger, simple sauce, processed cheese, cheap bun. I can assure you that this is the most comforting burger possible. It wraps you in love.

I came up with almost the same thought except mine was closer to an Oklahoma onion burger. I could use one of those right now.

I actually use this "Matty's Patties" sauce most times I make a burger now and it's really good. The fact that mustard is so dominant in the ratio seemed strange to me when watching the video, but having deviated from it a couple times to experiment I can say: he has it right.
