I'm majorly disappointed with dayside when the camera is scanning over the contestants everyone is clapping for each others creations, but dayside just sit there sour faced not even clapping, I find it very self centered and rude.
I'm currently rewatching the whole show and I must say that there are a lot of things that people must consider here: 1. It was a clear manifestation of misunderstanding and miscommunication between Justin and the Production about his gig that he actually didn't expect would require him to go back and shoot again. 2. Justin on the other hand also made a promise that if he will not be arriving on time for the judgement, he will be disqualified. 3. If you'll see the date of this competition and the Bromance Video of Ryan, where Justin was also included, they actually knew each other before the competition, they have already collaborated which means that Ryan has put his trust on him that he will be true to his words. Ryan was just really disappointed because he know the capabilities of Justin, but being in the UA-cam community for how many years, he knows that staying true to your words are just as equally important as your potentials. 4. I still believe that Kyle should've gone home 2 episodes ago. Its plain and simple. Its a competition, even if you're hella good but you do not know how to follow instructions, you need to go home. 5. I also don't like how Andy Fickman handles situations but hey he needs to be tough, for petes sake he is one the Executive Producer, he puts his money and effort on this show so he definitely would want everything to run smooth, then again, this is a reality show so he must understand that what they're doing is hella hard. 6. The dislike bar though... I wasn't going to comment something about it until I realized that the Fu Music was snatched out of the limelight for their best week just because of the incident that happened with Justin, I mean, guys, they deserve the thumbs up, right? (And btw, to those who doesn't have enough time to watch the whole videos of the contestants' work, they did use the twinkie) 7. The judges are there because they deserve to, I mean who would've judged this show better? And the fact that they have guest judge every week who are other famous and talented UA-camrs actually is a testament that UA-cam is a big community and they are actually there not to belittle the contestants but to give professional advice because they want these people to actually continue what they're doing and be able to sustain their channels which actually is an effective thing since most of these people are now huge in the UA-cam scene, thanks to Internet Icon, for giving them more exposure. 8. If you actually are still on track with what these people are doing, they actually have collaborated one way or another. Again, just to reiterate the fact that UA-cam is not like TV where everybody fishes for compliment and pulls other people down. UA-cam is different and what makes it different is that it is a huge community where the people actually seek to help each other rise. Just some thoughts guys... But I mean its been 3 years since this show ended so yeah. Let's move on and just keep on supporting these UA-camrs. #TeamInternet
+Alexandra Mae Panaguiton one thing though is I think Internet Icon was filmed in December but only was released in July and they wrapped it, then Ryan said to both Justin and Lana that they should come do the Bromance video
maybe they uploaded this a few months after they actually wrapped it up, because Lana was in bromance too... honestly tho, your comment is like the best one here XD
I hate the producer, he is lying about what happened to Justin, how was Justin supposed to give up a tv show? I know it's responsibility but it was last minute, and at least he turned his drive in. Hate the producer
I don't like how they (Christine, Ryan and Mystery Guitar Man) say that it's not ok to bend the rules for one person and not anyone else... Then Kyle should've gone home in the very first contest!!! GGRRRRR
From the moment dayside got chosen, i already didnt like them. They were so... Rude. When they were jumping and screaming, it was slightly mocking for those that didnt make it in. And I really think they use the "apologetic card" a lot, but never mean it
yes guys. they used the twinkie. they don't show the full videos. check their music video out and you'll see the twinkie is a rocket that opens the elevator for the rubber duck
I don't think it's particularly fair how they cast Justin out. Yes it's a competition, but since the one guy didn't meet the criteria twice and is still there, well, they made an exception for him by show standards. Justin was also one of the first to show an ability to work the "the community". The show also is just generally disappointing - it goes on about "internet idols" but has a lot of focus on what make TV work, and not the internet.
Let me just get this out there... "We have rules to follow and we cannot bend those rules for only 1 person.." So by that logic Klye should've been kicked a long time ago.... fck that....
+michjackson4e Yea, Kyle or Lana should've been eliminated. You don't know when you will randomly have to be called up for a TV show. Even though he didn't have the best video (the Fus had that), his video most certainly was better than some other videos and I think that he had the SECOND best video. I disliked because of that.
The rule was to have the video turned in time. Not that you need to be there. Justin's tv show was last minute. You can't really take a lot of responsibility for that. But dayside productions though. So rude.
I still think that it's not fair that Justin didn't know that he would have to go to this audition.. He is talented and Kyle messed up two challenges and Justin completed both
UNFAIR!! Justin is sooo cool and so good, just because he didn't show up because of another TV show, doesn't mean that they have to kick him. For example: Dayside Production should have been kicked out AGES ago. And same with Kyle Hatch. He is cool too! But he didn't complete 2 CHALLENGES! UNFAIR!! Like Justin is PERFECT, and just because he didn't show up....DANG!
Fungle Rumble That last comment was both randomly off putting, and humoring, lol. And about Justin, it's really very upsetting. But it's like they said, Justin chose TV over Internet Icon, which is cool. You do what you want to do. But if he wanted to be here more, than he would've been.
I think Justin was the real winner of this episode, his kindness, and losing strong at the end shows that he is better, and more worthy of this than almost all of the other contestants.
I know this video is 5 years old, but at 23:10 when the producers are talking about Justin, they said it was not booked today....Justin got called up in the middle of his filming to be asked to do a re-shoot of the scene, but the producers say he had booked it in advance. They frickin manipulated the Judges into siding with them, so they obviously didn't like Justin, otherwise they would've told the truth about it....just had to say this.
I think it's kinda disrespectful that the blonde lady (I still don't know her name) keeps referring to Justin as a "kid". They're both still young! There's no need to call him a kid. Still sucks that he didn't make it
Randomly remembered a rubber ducky short film, and all I remembered was that it was emotional and that Nigahiga was judging it. So happy to have rediscovered such a gem of early UA-cam :)
No, the reason they were upset and he had to be eliminated was because in the round where they were choosing the top ten, they left out one guy, cause he said that he would be away for one or two challenges cause of a commitment he made, even though the judges really liked him. Justin not only told them at the last minute, but promised that he would show up but didn't, and he was therefore violating the rules, which is why they had to eliminate him.
this show tries to be more of a real show by making tiny problems serious because they dont really have any big problems but that just kind of makes it funny just my opinion im not saying this is horrible or anything
Oh my god you didnt need to make justin go out kyle has been in the bottom two three episodes in a row you dont got to take it so serious my god its not even fun to watch anymore
personally, Ryan was the only reason i ever started watching this, and i totally agree with him about justin. justin' chosen the other stuff over this show, that's his own choice, he deserved it!
To be taken lightly. This video did not deserve all the amount of hate it got just because all the fanboys and girls got mad that their favorite contestant was eliminated.
This is such bs he doesn't turn witch wasn't his fault and gets kicked off the guy who doesn't complete the 1st challenge correctly which was meant to be a disqualification gets to stay in and his aren't even good
Justin wasn't even there to be judged, what do you people think? He just gets a free fucking pass? Fuck that who cares he broke the rules, so he lost, his fault completely.
I AGREE WITH RYAN. Justin deserved it. People who were competing in this competition have given up jobs and cancelled events to be there. Justin should have been there on time and got what was coming to him
Uhm...guys?Don't you realize he could've been busy for days and would've not been able to do like 3 challenges not just one.Do you understand how hard it was on them to take him out?I think they did the right thing...
They made the twinkie into a rocket ship, this was shown on Part 1 of this episode. The reason we don't see it is because only part of the videos are shown. To watch the entire videos, click the link in the description.
Hmmm... I see their point on Justin leaving. UA-cam isn't just about films, it's about community trust, as well... Justin has broke his promise, or... not doing what he says, himself. He cares more about his show, than a youtube career. The UA-cam community can't have Justin's trust... BUT.... Dayside Productions is COCKY, ARROGENT, and we can't have their trust EITHER, for breaking the table. They aren't really good at technical editing either... SO, in my opinion, I wanted Dayside Productions to leave... SORRY if you don't understand.
this is what exactly i'm thinking! ryan even explain that. yes, it is not justin's fault but he PROMISED that he'll come back but didn't. I don't like dayside either. also, I really hope that Marlin stayed instead of Kyle. anw, I don't think you'll see this reply lol
Joyce Ann Bughaw well no, they said that he promised he'd be back, whereas in reality he said he thought he would be back in time. There's a big difference
You guys are absolutely ridiculous Justin deserved to go home. That's what I thought when I watched this in 2012 and that's what I still think now as I rewatch the series. You are supposed to inform the producers/show when you submit an audition about all prior comittments (including any contracts you've signed that could make you unavailable). Justin booked that job (and hence must have signed that contract) prior to auditioning for the show. He knowingly broke the rules and knew he could be disqualified if this scenario occured. Kyle "broke" the rules in a different sense- he wasn't able to fully accomplish the task requirements- however, this is failing to do well at a challenge- this is not the same as breaking the rules in a way that is grounds for disqualification (I'm sure they had some contract/agreement that they must be present during judgement filming).
In all fairness Justin was rightfully disqualified. While it's understandable that what came up was last minute and he was on contract, it was in the end was his choice to leave or stay. It seems like what everyone's issue is because of how much potential Justin had and how he treated all his competitors so kindly. Meanwhile Dayside still remained when they've demonstrated unsportmenship-like attitudes.
Fair is fair ? Then Kyle should have been eliminated at the first challenge, when he DIDN4T actually complete the challenge... And his videos aren't great anyways. But really, Fu lusic's video was my favorite so far. Such an amazing work :O
omg I think I shed a little tear when Justin didn't make it...he was the sweetest one and really understood what being an icon was about. And I think him not canceling on the tv show just shows how he trys to please everyone. I know this wont be the last time we see Justin james hughes
I noticed that whenever people say something like "i feel good about this video" they do bad or lose and when they say "my video is horrible" it is always in the top 3
I think it's really sad that Justin got eliminated because he obviously is very talented and makes great videos, but I see where the judges are coming from. Competitions have rules, and him leaving on that project was a personal choice. However, Justin's video was like one of the best ones, and it was made in so much less time. What a shame.
As far as i know, internet icon is filmed throughout one week, with a new challenge everyday. So if you cant make a commitment to one show for just a week, i can see why Justin got disqualified. More importantly i feel really bad for Fu, because this challenge was their best and they aren't getting the credit they deserve because everyone is so caught up with Justin.and hating on the judges isnt going to fix anything. If you really wanted to make a difference then go support him on his channel.
I was just waiting that whole time for Justin to walk through that door, even when they were talking about next weeks challenge.. I must say my heart broke a little when he didn't.
I think as far as a competition, it is a very well thought out test of an upstart UA-camr's abilities, and it does a great job giving these talents hoops to jump through. Professionalism is one of them, and personally I don't think I can sympathize with someone who is divided on how much he wants to be there.
I guessing it's "Bones" because it's the only show that he was on in 2012. (When the show was) Also it was just one scene he was in, so that goes along with what he said.
I think considering this is a challenge, that it was fair that Justin got eliminated, but based off of his video, he definitely should have stayed. For sure. He was definitely one of the top contestants left.
I wanted to watch this first season because I saw Ryan's video about season 2 and now I just don't want to watch it because Justin is now gone. He was my favorite guy because he spoke his mind and had a great way of speaking it. R.I.P Justin
like everyone else, the whole justin thing still makes me so mad tbh. issa goddamn contract, he didn't have a choice. it was last minute and he completed his challenge, which is more than other contestants. honestly where does it even say they gotta show up for the judging? but going back to the challenge thing, kyle never shoulda even made it to the top ten, let alone be given so many free passes. they literally bended the rules for him no question about it. fu music really did a great job this challenge, much to the dislike of dayside. the dayside guys have been douches from day one and they piss me off only a hair less than the producer.
There are multiple times when celebrities win an award and cannot make it due to prior engagements, though. They don't cancel because it's their responsibility to do what they promised to. I still feel like he should be commended for making such a great vid in a VERY short amount of time, and completing his other jobs.
I'm majorly disappointed with dayside when the camera is scanning over the contestants everyone is clapping for each others creations, but dayside just sit there sour faced not even clapping, I find it very self centered and rude.
Kymberley girl Yeah they do it in every show, I think it says a lot about them.
Everyone's talking about Justin Hughes in the comments and I'm just sitting here for the Fu Brothers prop video.
Fu is the best
Lol
Ikr fu music is the best

One thing I will say is that Christine Lakin doesn’t deserve to be a judge in the show just because Andy Fickman and her were a couple
I hate the producer, he is lying about what happened to Justin, how was Justin supposed to give up a tv show? I know it's responsibility but it was last minute, and at least he turned his drive in. Hate the producer
The Fiery Kitten Yeah I mean, people canceled things, yet this was last minute and if you are under contract there is nothing you can do!
So true
+The Fiery Kitten Dude I really liked his work..
Exactly!
Kennedy Jones ugh they screwed him over
I don't like how they (Christine, Ryan and Mystery Guitar Man) say that it's not ok to bend the rules for one person and not anyone else... Then Kyle should've gone home in the very first contest!!! GGRRRRR

I hate how kyle didn't even complete the last two challenges and he was still safe and when it comes to Justin, "RULES ARE RULES"
yes guys. they used the twinkie. they don't show the full videos. check their music video out and you'll see the twinkie is a rocket that opens the elevator for the rubber duck
ay man you in season 2

LOL everyone disliked just because Justin got kicked off
ryan should judge as regina
What do u f**cking mean? If u ever mean this in a way that offends ryan because of what he said about justin, i got 2 words for u : F*ck U
Why is dayside productions so cocky?
IKR?! They are so arrogant
Chloe Hernandez Ikr For the Duck Video when Ryan Said it was his fav video so far ONe of the dayside members was like -_-
Can we please for a second stop talking about how sad we were about Justin and appreciate Fu's AWESOME video???
Let me just get this out there...
"We have rules to follow and we cannot bend those rules for only 1 person.."
So by that logic Klye should've been kicked a long time ago.... fck that....
Angra Mainyu or that other dude who got a second chance to show the video to the judges
that one was technical problem, it wasn't really his fault
lol i just noticed the dislike bar xD
It's because people want to drop a bucket of hammers on Andy fickman.
Then high five themselves
Little Bow Lol
michjackson4e Yea, everyone was really disappointed in Justin and the choosing of him. I love Justin. And I'm really sad he left.
+michjackson4e Yea, Kyle or Lana should've been eliminated. You don't know when you will randomly have to be called up for a TV show. ichigo miruku xo same x2
Dayside doesn't really care for the other contestants other than themselves..
They don't really.care for themselfs it like every man for them selfs team
The Dayside productions '' boss '' is so cocky and annoying, he didnt even respect other peoples video! Other guys in Dayside are ok...
But there vids are k
Those dayside guys are so arrogant and disrespectful to the other contestant..especially the 'director' and the kid with the emo hair
I still think that it's not fair that Justin didn't know that he would have to go to this audition.. He is talented and Kyle messed up two challenges and Justin completed both

Fungle Rumble That last comment was both randomly off putting, and humoring, lol. And about Justin, it's really very upsetting. But it's like they said, Justin chose TV over Internet Icon, which is cool. You do what you want to do. But if he wanted to be here more, than he would've been.
justin hughes is really good. that would explain why their is 16000 dislikes and 9000 likes
12:40.... the editor fully cut him off with some whack-ass iMovie transition but.... yeah ok
How many people were only here for justin and ryan? ..
Did Fu Misic and some other groups not use the twinkie? Not judging I LOVE Fu Music but I just didn't see it?
Yeah they did, this just doesn't show the whole video that they made. You can search it up if you want to find the full video that they made.
It's in the full version. In the episode they shorten the videos so the show doesn't run for too long.
Thanks guys
Theres a link underneath for it
The dislikes speak for themselves.
yup
Johnny Emezie True that
I think Justin was the real winner of this episode, his kindness, and losing strong at the end shows that he is better, and more worthy of this than almost all of the other contestants.
kyle was the worst all three challenges (first two vids were good but didnt meet requirements auto dq)
justin was honestly one of the best, it's incredibly disappointing that they kicked him off the show
Justin had always been in the top 2 every week and he is hilarious. So much respect has gone our the window for Ryan...
what is it with Ryan and Cherries?
I know this video is 5 years old, but at 23:10 when the producers are talking about Justin, they said it was not booked today....Justin got called up in the middle of his filming to be asked to do a re-shoot of the scene, but the producers say he had booked it in advance. Fluffy Gamer yup they screwed him over
Ryan should have said. Looks like Justin did a copy right infringement, you will get that reference if you watch Ryan's videos!
..... This video was released a full year before he made that joke -_-
Zeduck36 ik k im just saying if it would have came out that time
Sure......
Lol i get it
I think it's kinda disrespectful that the blonde lady (I still don't know her name) keeps referring to Justin as a "kid". They're both still young! There's no need to call him a kid. Still sucks that he didn't make it

The amount of dislikes is simply a huge spoiler...
No, the reason they were upset and he had to be eliminated was because in the round where they were choosing the top ten, they left out one guy, cause he said that he would be away for one or two challenges cause of a commitment he made, even though the judges really liked him. They pocked the right video for Mystery Guitar Man to judge. That stop-motion video was quite emotional. It was so simple, yet amazing. Good job guys!

Dayside is so damn cocky!!
i hate d four dudes in d grp thing theyre so cocky n they dont even clap n think everyone is wasting their time ugh so annoyed with em
I agree, but I disliked your comment because you type like you're in 2nd grade.
1. Fan Favorite : JustinJamesHughes, 2. Best video ever made on Internet Icon : Coming Home by theft
I AGREE WITH RYAN. Justin deserved it. People who were competing in this competition have given up jobs and cancelled events to be there. Justin should have been there on time and got what was coming to him
Michael Jadwisiak kyle messed two fucking times they made an exception for him!!! Thats no fucking fair okay!!!
this Justin thing really upsets me. he's my fave but Ryan is kinda right too.
anyways, dayside y so cocky?!
why are there so many dislikes it doesnt seem to me like justin cared
justin was under a contract on the tv show, so he coudln't really do anything about it.
I love it when something in the video that annoys you has already been brought up in the comments so that you don't have to post it :D
Uhm...guys?Don't you realize he could've been busy for days and would've not been able to do like 3 challenges not just one.Do you understand how hard it was on them to take him out?I think they did the right thing...

Meanwhile Dayside still remained when they've demonstrated unsportmenship-like attitudes.
Stephanie Blanco Since he was signed under a contract, it wasn't really his choice...
hi do you know what a contract means
Srishti Lakhotia +
josh is in ryan's vids now
Fair is fair ? Then Kyle should have been eliminated at the first challenge, when he DIDN4T actually complete the challenge... And his videos aren't great anyways.
But really, Fu lusic's video was my favorite so far. Such an amazing work :O
OMG THE DISLIKE BAR xD
Still mad about the Justin thing.
Love Kyle hatch
It's really sad for Justin... the decision was hard for the judge :(
but that's not a reason for the 16000 dislike, not cool from you guys...
omg I think I shed a little tear when Justin didn't make it...he was the sweetest one and really understood what being an icon was about. And I think him not canceling on the tv show just shows how he trys to please everyone. I know this wont be the last time we see Justin james hughes
I noticed that whenever people say something like "i feel good about this video" they do bad or lose and when they say "my video is horrible" it is always in the top 3
"We can't set condensions for some people and not for others. It's unfair" Yet KYLE didn't complete the challenge TWICE and he's STILL IN!
Honestly, it was Justin's vids that I always looked forward too.
What happens to the jump rope in some of them
I think it's really sad that Justin got eliminated because he obviously is very talented and makes great videos, but I see where the judges are coming from. Competitions have rules, and him leaving on that project was a personal choice. However, Justin's video was like one of the best ones, and it was made in so much less time. What a shame.
Oh, i had to see the full music video. Thanks! :D
This video was GREAT! I don't know why everybody hates it.
AWESOME
The fu brothers stop motion video was awesome, great job! :))
The tall brother with glasses from the Brothers Riedell remind me of Sheldon Cooper..
Professionalism is one of them, and personally I don't think I can sympathize with someone who is divided on how much he wants to be there.
omg!!!! is that the song jackpot by block b for the brothers rydels video WOW that made things a whole lot better 16:01
what did Justin go to film?
I guessing it's "Bones" because it's the only show that he was on in 2012. (When the show was) Also it was just one scene he was in, so that goes along with what he said.
Jason B Thanks
did kyle use the wig
Emma Louise i dont think so
Emma Louise ya he did... his imaginary frnd was wearing an afro one
Paco SUCKS69 Yes he did, how could you miss it?
I think considering this is a challenge, that it was fair that Justin got eliminated, but based off of his video, he definitely should have stayed. For sure. He was definitely one of the top contestants left.
what song was it that fuu music used?
their own
..... they made it up -.-
Yes they did cut it short for here, but you can watch the full video on their channel and there should be a link in the description.
Yeah, and Christine said, "Fair is fair." Ahem. Giving Kyle 3 chances and giving Justin one is not fair.

Of course the vids are cut short! Each vid is cut into hightlights to make sure the show doesn't strain too long.
There are multiple times when celebrities win an award and cannot make it due to prior engagements, though. They don't cancel because it's their responsibility to do what they promised to. I still feel like he should be commended for making such a great vid in a VERY short amount of time, and completing his other jobs.
The end of Kyle's video should've been "Kyle needs friends" instead of "Kyle needs a hug" IMO
