I appreciate all of the instruction you give to Houston and to us, and I love listening to Houston repeat it back. Loved getting to see the duck hunting footage. That's a new thing for me.
Thanks for the video, and Happy 2024!

Not sure if this has been said yet so apologies if it has. First off the trap that was pulled up and set off was most likely a deer. Also try putting a can or golf ball over the dog proofs or the rain will ruin your bait and it serves as eye appeal. Trapper J and growing deer tv would be good channels to watch for trapping tips. Great wing shooting Houston!

Enjoy watching Houston and dad trapping together. When my son was young we trapped together. Made enough money to pay for his Oklahoma lifetime fishing and hunting license and pay for our traps and supplies.
A tip. You may have to dye and wax your traps to catch coyotes and bobcats.
    Good luck Houston.

ATTENTION DANIEL : Please teach Houston to always hold that shotgun barrel upwards over his shoulder & never carry it downward. Because I noticed in your pasture going to your creek at the gate Houston had the barrel almost touching the ground. Here’s a true story U can share with him why to never ever carry it downward !!! When I was 13-14 years old my neighbor and my best friend the same age, we was hunting some quail That always would be in coveys below my parents garden in the bottom edge of pasture near the woods. So we walked across my mom & dads garden that had just been plowed over and had heaps of dirt in rows that was rolled over. My friend/neighbor was walking to my right and slightly in front of me and we walked over the garden and down the hill to the broom sage to flush those birds. A covey of quail flew up and we both slung up to shoot and as we shot his 20 gauge single barrel Harrington and Richardson Topper model, The barrel literally exploded 💥!!! He had accidentally jabbed his barrel down in that red clay dirt in our garden unbeknownst to him and it put a 3 inch Red Clay dirt plug in the end of his barrel. When he shot at a quail it peeled that barrel backwards in 4 pieces that looked exactly like a banana 🍌 peel. Needless to say the 7.5 ounce bird shot came backwards on us. It peppered his face and mine & pierced one of his ears. We was both looking at each other with bloody faces after the explosion 💥 in disbelief as we felt it and our faces became wet quickly. It was only by the grace of God none of the shot hit our eyes 👀 or went thru our skulls! Our foreheads cheeks & necks both had embedded bird shot just under the skin & he pierced let earlobe. So scared to death we ran to my house quickly and my Mom picked the shot out of us and washed our faces with peroxide and man that stung like crazy. We was very lucky not be be blinded. But thats what can and will happen if Houston jabs that barrel into some mud and don’t know it and shoots that shotgun!!!! Trust me i was there, been there seen it happen and was peppered good because of it. So please by all means share this story with him. My friends dad took my friends once 26 inch shot gun to our local gunsmith for him to fix it. The gunsmith is long been deceased but he done a wonderful job at sawing off the banana 🍌 peeled barrel and reinstalled a ball site on the end of the barrel. My friend now still to this day still has that shotgun & he’s almost 60 Years old. But instead of him being a proud owner of a vintage Harrington and Richardson Topper Model 26” barrel 20 gauge.... He’s the Proud owner of a 21 inch barrel 20 gauge! We still laugh about that but we both could’ve been blinded or worse! 😂
He & myself included never carried another gun facing downward again when we went hunting anymore after that, for very good reason & lesson learned. Just thought I’d share that story with ya for a safety reminder. 😉👍🏼
