Thanks for the video! I have one on the way, and this was very helpful in giving me a jump start.

Hello mister . Thank you for these videos are great . i wanna build a self service wash with easy , can i add a external timer ? to show customer what time he has .

Yes, the EATON Easy Intelligent relay does have timers ... however ... if you want to display it on something besides the small LCD screen it'd probably necessitate some expansion outputs. When I return to the PLC playlist I'll cover timers.

How do i set up a single pulse program with 1 input and timed for an amount of time?

    • @bigbadtech
      @bigbadtech  Рік тому

Use a rising/positive edge triggered one shot timer.

I know the EATON Easy Intelligent Relay offers this type of timer but can't recall the specifics off the top of my head. Check the manual.

Hey guys been trying to find an updated version of this kind of video for Eaton EasyE4 using their cruddy EasySoft version 7.41 for a dual dual pump alternating design. Had not done any programming since e 2007 something used to be easy but this new software is horrible. IMHO. Can't figure out a simple timer in it. Guess I will have to program it from the display. 🤔

I feel your pain. I'm bummed that Eaton discontinued the Easy Intelligent Relay line. They had a reasonably powerful product that was simple to use and tossed it!

@@bigbadtech I just bought 2 NEW ones the EASYE4 versions from distributor. Took me 2 days and a weekend worth of YT surfing to try & get the program running halfarsed . Last time I used them I think it was software ver 3 or so. From memory they were way more user Friendly back then.
Went to upload now the "hardware version" is too outdated for the software... tomorrow I either have to update the firmware in the controller or start over in the software with an older firmware version... Can't just switch them once you start the ladder program, when using the EasySoft... ugh 😑 😒
At this point if Eaton did kill it it was a mercy killing! 🤣 🤣

wow, learned more here then a live course of 3 hours...only comment...you stated at 12 min...Don't use the screen, use a computer to program...but then start using the screen?
    Did I miss something?

Yes, the next lecture: ua-cam.com/video/NkP4nYl_a8E/v-deo.html shows how to use the software. Once you program with the software you'll realize how ponderous programming with the screen really is. Reason I show the screen is you don't always have access to the software.

The small screen and 300+ page manual is not easy at all.
When I show this video to my boss he will believe me when I tell him we are screwed.
    No cable or software.
A single sensor to trip an alarm and a push button to reset should not be this hard.

All is not lost my friend! Check out hard wired relay based ladder logic version of an alarm circuit: ua-cam.com/video/Y_P5s5hvmUQ/v-deo.html
This should actually be pretty easy to implement even using the small screen and manual entry. In this case the role of the control relay would be assumed by a "virtual relay": ua-cam.com/video/OcjZIC6aNjI/v-deo.html
Beyond these hints all I can say is good luck!

I'll cover PLC timers and counters when I return to the PLC playlist. Right now I'm working on the AC circuit analysis playlist.
