- Here's another teaser form a recent workshop, "Border Ballads." "Sir Patrick Spens" is a ballad from the English Scottish border, and it tells the story of a sea captain who goes on a dangerous voyage, knowing it is doomed to end in tragedy. I am playing in D-G-D with a capo on the first fret.

your music is so enchanting, I'm transported to another world where the spirits of the forest dance around a bonfire in the night
Sempre gosto de voltar aqui e ouvir vc tocar...
Just lovely!
Thank you, and many thanks for listening! :-)
Beautiful music... just discovered your page as I am introducing my cousin to the mountain dulcimer.
That's wonderful! Thank you for stopping by! :-) Enjoy the journey, both of you!
Thank you, Jessica. The mountain dulcimer is a perfect instrument for these old Celtic and Irish tunes. I think they’re beautiful. I have begun to learn to play my new dulcimer and hope to be able to play with a style similar to your own one day. 😮
I agree that Celtic music is very much at home on this instrument, Dr. Michael! I am happy that you are discovering the beautiful potential of the mountain dulcimer!
I love this song!
Thank you! More, please!
Wow beautiful as ever!
Thank you so very much for blessing us with more of your amazing talent,!
Beautiful!

Everything you play sounds like gold. Have you ever thought about doing a cover of Ashokan Farewell?
Wow amazing! I’m a guitarist and I just recently bought a dulcimer (transfers over quite well actually) but I was wondering. Where did you get your capo? I was looking around but the ones I found didn’t have great reviews. Rn I have been using a pencil with rubber bands to hold it on the fret 😂
Thank you so much! I have been very pleased with my experience with Ron Ewing capos; they are sturdy, and the part that grips the instrument is made of solid wood. You have many options to choose from, some more ornamental than others: ronewingdulcimers.com/Capos.htm
Just discovered this channel, noticed this video is a year ago and seems to be the last posted did you abandon this endeavor or move to a different service?
Neither! :-) I've been busy with other projects including writing a book and offering online workshops! I've just been asked ot film another video recently, so perhaps I'll start doing more filming again! Thank you for stopping by!
@@JessicaComeauDulcimer Yay, thanks for the reply I'm glad you are still kicking!
I apologize if leaving a share link isn't allowed here, I was only seeking feedback from a fellow player. Ciao
@@fueledbylove I was wondering also. I have a huge library, and she holds her own with artist in it.
Que c'est doux, dansant et plaintif. Magnifique performance. Quel est le mode utilisé ? On est dans quel siècle ? Ah Jessica, comme tu nous fais voyager! Thanks you.
You are very kind, Marc! Thank you! :-) The tuning is in the description: D-G-D, capo 1. The Child ballads (collected by Francis J. Child) often have medieval roots, but the versions collected by Child were from the 19th century... so we are definitely taken back in time one way or another!
