      Back in 2000 that same van they wanted $55,000 for a vortec 350 engine. Cargo vans have never been cheap look at them just a few years old there still commanding $40,000.

      @@ironhorse6688 but you're not going to have a 401 horsepower for 400 small block in that ProMaster and Dodges well known for breaking all the time their pickup trucks won't even get 100,000 miles before the engine blow up every single one of the 2023. And that's religiously changing your oil every 3,000 mi until following everything to the tea they will still blow up on you

    To be honest, first time driving this van version of van around this past weekend because I rented a U-Haul van and I fell in love with it. I am so getting one of these real soon.

      Don't matter, cheapest maintenance and best reliability. Compared to even the transit or especially the promaster shit boxes (I love renting them coz they do slightly better on gas

    Want one of these so bad! The pricing is just so far out of reach. Same with used vans right now. $15k+ for a van with well over 200k miles is insanity.

      Without question the world has been turned upside down on vans like these and not just with Chevy. When I made this video we had the only one that was not pre ordered in the lower 48 states. I have never seen anything like it.

      We have not run into the paint issue. I will have to do a deep dive into this question to get you a more definitive answer.

    These prices are insane! Especially for a stripped down model. I hope Chevy doesn't go
    under. My express has 200,000 miles on it and needs to be replaced. Not for $41,000!

      These are purchased by businesses mainly and 40-50k on commercial vehicles is no big deal. To a homeowner working at the grocery store it might be a big deal.

    If you get one of these, get the V8 or the 6.6L Duramax Diesel. They have much more power for what these HD vans can offer.

    I'm going to buy a new one..my.husband and mom both passed away a week apart..from two different things in two different states..me and my.brothers sold my moms property she lived in a different state..also my husband had life insurance at his work I did not know about..his friend coworker for over 30 years told me about it....I know these Van's are expensive but I absolutely in love with them..I want one for road trips..think I am going to put a good down payment on one..and take a loan out for rest..i will baby this van..if I get one..i can thank my.husband..who I miss very much..

    I have a 1998 Chevy express 1500 4.3l v6 cargo van with , 275,000.00 miles on it , transmission rebuild once , these van are a beast but Chevy needs to move with the times on their designs, compared to the 2023 dodge promaster n the ford transit high roof, long base cargo van, Chevy is outdated

      Mercedes has a sheet metal mono frame, a stressed small displacement engine, sky high maintenance costs.

    That's not a unicorn. The 6.6 l V8 is the unicorn. For some observed reason Chevy stop making it unless you get a cutaway or a passenger van. In 2024. I absolutely refuse to even consider a V6 3/4 ton van..

      The express starts at $33,000 and goes up from there based on packages and if it is 4wd.

      I'm actually in the market for one of these right now and am going to eventually give it a light off road conversion with a slightly raised suspension, winch in the front and some all terrain tires.
      I guess my questions would be would such mods be possible and can a roof rack be installed ?

      The original announcement said 2026 was going with an EV Van. Now GM Authority is saying 2027 will be redesign with gas engine so I have no clue which or if both will happen. gmauthority.com/blog/2023/01/chevy-express-may-get-2027-model-year-redesign-keep-ice-powertrain/

      Sheer luck. We had placed an order roughly a year before and it was picked up by Chevy. When I did a search nationally for another commenter on this video I could not find another one with in 3000 miles.
