Thank you for not espousing the Sephora sale. Many of us are not 'rouge'. 10-15% is not so exciting; use someone's code anyday. And honestly, I often get better deals at brand's own website
I appreciate you not making Sephora sale videos!! I always thought that if you are not willing to buy something at full price it’s probably not worth getting it on sale! ❤
Not a bad point. But I restock some of my pricier must haves during the sale. That said a lot of the companies have parallel (better) sales during the Sephora one
I really don't agree with the second half of this. Yes, I think sales can sometimes trick us into buying things we don't need and won't actually like that much, but ... here's a real example from my own life: I really want a le Creuset dutch oven because my current dutch oven is kind of crap and I want to get something that will A: last forever and B: make me feel fancy. But I'm not willing to pay $400 for it, I'm waiting for their big autumn sale to get it for $250, and I absolutely think that's worth it. Yeah, that's kind of an edge case, but depending on your budget, waiting to buy the more expensive foundation that looks better on your skin when it's on sale might also be worth it. Just don't get lured into impulse-buying.
@@MissaBrevis I totally understand that feeling! 👍 can I suggest a different dutch oven for you… I only use cast iron in my kitchen and to be honest the brand lodge id amazing! I have had their pans and Dutch oven for over 20 years and they are still in amazing condition… I am pretty sure that the price on their pans are under $400 without a sale! I am not sure if you are looking at a 7.5qt because those are in that $350ish price range… if you are looking for a 4.5qt or 6 qt definitely go with lodge brand 😊also it’s an American brand so buying American made really helps our countries economy… I think that maybe why those le creuset ovens are so expensive is because of import costs? Not sure but look into American made if you can 😊 also assuming that you are in America… lol Good luck finding your perfect Dutch oven!
@@KZ-pt5qk I appreciate the thought, but I know what I want, I know what I'm willing to pay, and I'm fine with waiting 6 months for those two to overlap. No judgement to Lodge, I'm well aware they do make quality cookware, but I like Le Creuset better for several reasons, and since this is something that I plan to use weekly for hopefully several decades, I want to get the one that I like the most, not the almost-as-good one.
I support leaving your phone behind! I recently switched to a dumb phone, the light phone 2. LIFE CHANGING. but it is very dumb, I still have an iPhone and switch out the sim when I need google maps or have a video call or something. The phone was a huge source of my overspending, just getting lost all night researching and buying. The barrier of the dumb phone paid for itself the first month by stopping the overspending. But the presence and clarity of mind that comes with living without the dopamine machine in your pocket is truly priceless 😊
I skipped the sale and we got a new rescue dog instead. I personally recommend doing that to anyone who loves animals and has the extra space and love! 🐕💜
It seems like Groundwork palettes are meant to be for make up artists rather than the common consumer. It seems like it fits a pretty narrow consumer who knows how to use the unusual formulas
I have the original and I love it, but I’m a huge contour and bronzer lover, so I can make a whole face with a so many neutral day and nighttime eye looks from it! Really depends on whether it would meet an individual’s needs though
It's actually very easy to use and so versatile. She's just using it wrong. The quality is great too. It's different is all, so a little insight on how to use it wouldn't hurt. The way she's using it, really doesn't say much. A lot of makeup products wouldn't work that way. lol
I feel like with the DM groundworks 2 (like many other palettes) you have to realize if you (or at least me) just like the colors aesthetically or if you actually want to use them on your face. Yes, the palette is extremely aesthetically pleasing and sexy, but realistically for personal use, I would use maybe 3-4 of the shades on my face. I’d rather just buy those colors as blushes or separate eyeshadows. But also ive seen ppl say this is a good palette for ppl why like cool tones and I’m like ”bitch where?”, half of the palette is burgundy. Its like were so starved of cool toned palettes that if 1/3 of the palette is cool tones its a ”cool tones palette”
In regard to mixing the YSL lip products, I’ve done a lot of tinkering with mixing custom shades of various things and find trying to put it back into the bullet just gets messy and isn’t as effective as one would like it to be- what I end up doing is taking an empty pan from an empty Salt NY product or eyeshadow etc. and melt the mixture using a candle warmer (could use anything to heat it up- this is just what I have) and just use my fingers or a brush. This is what I had to do with my satin Merit lipsticks because the product got wiggly in the bullet and I also like using them as blushes and that method worked beautifully!
I do this all the time! Hot (literally) tip : get a small microwave-safe container (I have little ceramic condiment bowls with a square lip; the corners make for easy pouring), nuke to melt it, mix whatever you're mixing, and pour into a cleaned empty chapstick-type tube. I've never gotten good results trying to "remake" a traditional lipstick bullet -- I feel like that's a losing proposition unless you can totally take it apart without breaking it, remove and clean the base that holds the bullet, and happen to have something the exact right diameter and depth to serve as a mold. Regular balm tubes are much easier, tho they don't look as nice. Plus, you can turn the dregs of your old fave lipstick into a tint by adding beeswax or soy wax, mango seed butter, and a little coconut oil (go easy on any oils/butters that're liquid or very very soft-melty at room temp).

I love both DM palettes. The putty is perfect for laying down the base of a look or a simple one and done. I am enjoying playing with the mid and darker tones for contour and brow and lip colours. I use the powders to fix and special shades for accents and texture. I have started to mix and match the palettes too. I use synthetic brushes on these. I am excited still to play and explore. It’s pushing me to look at colour in a more artistic way. I feel a new appreciation for impressionist palettes and cubist lines.

Hiiiii!! I bought three Dior items I have been eyeing and I love my picks. Your comments about the groundwork palette is where I tote the line. I looove the color scheme. However, at that price and puddy ratio… I don’t even like puddy THAT much. They would be beautiful as blush colors, which I already own in powders. 🙈 and liquids. Even a couple in puddy form!! (MAC Glow Play) 😭😭 there, I talked myself out of it for the 8th time.
Received a bunch of gift cards for my birthday, so purchased the DM groundwork pallet- I’m in love with it. I mostly use fingers or a dense brush. Also, I fully support HLP ASMR 😂💛
If i had a channel...I wouldn't do the Sephora bit either. But then I got alot of great products from those recommendations. I use the Groundwork pallet for my brows and I'm a pencil girly. The powder is great for brows. I really do use it for many things.
oooh, I love the eyebrows exactly as they are, even without other makeup to balance. I'm always for a Major Brow--perhaps because I am 10 years older than you are, and the (white) supermodels who were everywhere when I was in middle and high school often had major brows in those days (before the 90s plucking trend that I proudly ignored). Cindy, Claudia, Brooke, Paulina, Isabella Rossellini, Andie Macdowell, even Christy Turlington and Tatjana Patitz's late-80s brows were Major. I think the Black top models had less leeway for sure. Also, I'm from Northern CA, and the natural, sporty, not-trying-hard look was very chic for the ritzy girls at my prep school. And that YSL 202 is glorious!
Ulta is so much better in every way but some of my favorite lip products are only available at Sephora 🙃 just need ulta to get those brands and then I’ll be done
They should do a 6 shade palette foe this minimalist ladies like me who don't want lots of colors. And maybe have a cool tone option, too. Maybe for each skin undertone. That would be brilliant. This palette is good for dancers who have to do stage makeup or makeup artist who need options.
as others said, even if you were joking HLP ASMR would be to die for 💜 the glossier suits you so well! & i wish to humbly repeat my request for some kind of review of the isamaya balms, although from what i can tell they really run the gamut pigment wise
I have yet to stumble upon a single person who enjoys those DM groundwork palettes! It's so interesting! In my mind, mob beauty seems to be doing something similar, but in better formulas (& colors!) than what DM is doing. I've been very interested in the cream clay products they have & they seem to be such a huge hit within the indie community specifically!
Oh I've had my eye on the MOB cream clay shadows at Beautylish forever, but then some of the reviews are like "this creases like craaaaazy" and as an oily-lid crease-prone person who's also allergic to something in a LOT of eyeshadow primers, ehhhhh. :|
Thank you for turning me off of the DM palettes lol, the gray quality of the colors is so beautiful, but seeing/ hearing about the putty―I just ordered the first one and I will be returning it. I also realize that I only really want like 4 colors out of each of the DM palettes. ALSO very excited to see that you finally tried the Glossier bronzers! I was the one who said Swept was like A Royal Scandal (though I did not give you that deep dive on Sail). I've been dying to see if Swept did it for you lol, glad to see it did!
That's a shame about returning the DM palette. It's actually great. She's using it wrong is why it looks so bad. use a firm brush, because the pomade is more firm, then set with powder. It gives some of the most beautiful looks if half a thought was put into it.
Jones Road just came out with new lip balms that look to be lightly pigmented. The packaging is very old school balm, think metal chapstick, but they have a cool town light brown called "Me" that may be what you are looking for.
I was also let down by the Danessa Myricks palette. Had high hopes but didn’t enjoy working with the putty either. You described it perfectly, feels like I’m just picking up the dye from the putty and it’s such an anti climactic application. Womp womp wommmp
i would love to see you review some products from ere perez! it’s a high end clean beauty brand that’s sold at credo, detox market, and some of the products are at ulta (only online though)
Have you ever had an official color analysis? That might really help you out in your color choices! Not that you aren’t doing a fine job figuring that out on your own, but it might be a nice shortcut.😊❤
I couldn't echo your opening statement any stronger! Whenever I colour my brows I instantly feel better, but when I look in a larger mirror I'm like "Oh hello BROWS for days!" lol. Yours look fantastic :) xo
I have a handful of the Loveshines and most of them are very very nude and lightly pigmented. It looks like you ended up with one of the darker ones, which have a little more pigment.
I wanted to love my original groundwork palette because I love neutral cream shadows. Disappointingly, I quickly realized that these are not creams and they do not set down. Even pairing them with the powders left me with a very short wear time and a creasy mess. Unfortunately, I didn’t love the colors for a face palette on me, so I sold it! I don’t miss it at all. But the rose one is so beautiful. I admit for a moment I forgot why I didn’t like it!!
I wonder if a drop or two of Inglot’s duraline would improve the texture of the putty. The mascara reminds me of the super thin k-beauty mascara wands.
Please start an ASMR channel. First order of business: A compilation video of all the times you've put eyeshadows or lippies in order, the sped up ones where it's all clicky clacky
It sounds like a lot of people would be super into that, so obviously go for doing ASMR content if you think it would be fun, but please keep ASMR content and normal content at least clearly labeled if not on separate channels? Most ASMR stuff sets off my misophonia like WHOA and I love your content as is!
I appreciate where you’re going with your channel and think it’s important to keep reminding us about not overspending. I will say though, that even though you find it difficult, you do receive PR and have a business budget, so it helps with your not getting caught up with the no buy. Just my personal opinion.
I just brought a YSL Loveshine because when I swatched it in store I loved the colour, got it home and put it on and the reason I loved it was because it was the exact same shade as my lips. The exact same. I would be better off putting on a regular lip balm because at least then I'd get some hydration :')
For anyone who it might help glossier cloud paint in sail is very orange! at least on my pale cool toned skin. This video reminded me to reach out and see if I can exchange it for a different shade, so thank you!
When you said, “..this ridiculous business” about the Refy mascara, I fell off a stool from laughing and screaming how much I love your pragmatic honesty…😂😂😂😂
Oh my gosh....if you did an ASMR channel my mind would explode 🤣 I already kind of associate your channel with ASMR in some ways hahaha Love all your content!
I know this isn’t really your kind of wheelhouse but do you think you would ever be willing to do a video swatching and reviewing all of the glossier cloud paints and bronzers and talking about their colors in depth? Since they are such an online brand it’s sometimes hard to get that information and you do it so eloquently!
I covet that DM palette but I keep telling myself that I don’t need it because i can happily play with the summer unrated pallete and my salt new york cheek tints and just pretend ❤
Hi I am searching your posts to find out who makes your necklace. I have been looking for something very much in that vein and can’t find anything that doesn’t look cheap. Thank you!

ok i dont mean to influence your opinion but wow, i looked away from this video for a moment and when i looked back your eyes were the largest, most doe-eyed i have ever seen. i had to rewind to check if you added anything else other than the refy mascara!

Hannah, have you looked into Effortless Lips by Ravie Beauty (Allie Glines)?
No FOMO on Sephora sale for me!
@@MissaBrevis oh for sure. Honestly we just need the one video comp of all the clicky clackies, and only if Hannah feels like it😂👌🏼
I appreciate where you’re going with your channel and think it’s important to keep reminding us about not overspending. I will say though, that even though you find it difficult, you do receive PR and have a business budget, so it helps with your not getting caught up with the no buy. Just my personal opinion.
I want some Hannah alchemy! ❤
Your lashes are so beautiful with that mascara!
Thank you for this! I was almost sold on the groundwork palette but now I’m out 😅
This video successfully stopped me from buying a dang thing at this sale. The items remain in my cart and the money remains in my wallet. Thank you.
When you said, “..this ridiculous business” about the Refy mascara, I fell off a stool from laughing and screaming how much I love your pragmatic honesty…😂😂😂😂
I love the DM palette
The eye look you've created looks stunning!! It gives flirty spring vibes ❤
Try the Kiko lip balm in the colori almond. It also smells like almonds
I love your videos!
Glossier I am buying Swept because of Hannah, thank you for your attention to this matter.
Oh my gosh....if you did an ASMR channel my mind would explode 🤣 I already kind of associate your channel with ASMR in some ways hahaha
Love all your content!
How does the groundwork putty feel on the lips compared to that rouge lip powder palette??
I think your eyebrows look fabulous!
I just wanted to chime in and say that I, too, picked the YSL Loveshine in 202 Peachy Glow! Fortunately, it works for me and I like it quite a bit.
Did you watch Hannah’s glossier compilation? It won’t have the newer shades but some of the blushes are the same.
I do this type of thing sometimes, and I actually did it for the original glossier bronzers when they launched! I'll keep it in mind
I’m here to say YES, start an ASMR channel!!!😍
Great necklace!!
Commenting before watching to boost
I am mad at myself for buying that mascara!! It is way too much work!! Reinventing the wheel doesn’t always work out.
I would subscribe so quickly to HLP ASMR
Literally sitting down with a sephora box to open while watching this, isn't it ironic??
I covet that DM palette but I keep telling myself that I don’t need it because i can happily play with the summer unrated pallete and my salt new york cheek tints and just pretend ❤
I prefer the SNY formula for sure!
"check yourself before you wreck yourself" HLP on the Sephora sale 😂 always here telling us what we need to hear
Hi I am searching your posts to find out who makes your necklace. I have been looking for something very much in that vein and can’t find anything that doesn’t look cheap. Thank you!
Hannah I started reading Julia Hungry last night in bed. Wow you are such a talent! Absolutely beautiful work. There were many lines I read that gave me full body chills
wow, thank you SO much!
Yay! Not sure if this is the right place for it, but I'm not on Instagram to send a DM... Any chance you would be willing to review the new-ish Salt New York concealer?
Is there a difference between the Eros cream blush and the Glossier bronzer you just tried? They look a bit similar to me.
I think the Eros cream is darker. But I don't have a side-by-side!
Sephora in general has been specializing in 'meh' more and more these days....I think I'm becoming more of an ULTA girlie.
Do you prefer the Glossier cloud paint bronzer over the neutral Armani Neo Nude blush?
ok i dont mean to influence your opinion but wow, i looked away from this video for a moment and when i looked back your eyes were the largest, most doe-eyed i have ever seen. i had to rewind to check if you added anything else other than the refy mascara!
The formula of the mascara is maybe similar to LE new one?
I am enthralled by your goose (?) lamp shade. Where is it from?
I got the shade at Anthropologie YEARS ago (probably ten years!)
😊
❤❤❤
