There's no other way to say it. Always so smooth, always so crisp, always so sick, always laying in the cut! Ladies and gentleman... The funky drummer!!
Oh yes he is!
I like how you leave a little dead space between the end of one musical phrase and the start of another. It’s like the drum set is catching its breath
Just imagine a drum off between Max Sansalone, Dan Mayo and Jojo Mayer 😀
I subscribe to your channel for a reason. No talking, no stupid drum solos. Just beats and grooves. Nothing against drum solos, just as long as there not mindless. And they make musical sense.
oh the humanity!
Niiiiiiiiiiiice🎉🎉🎉
great
I started yelling "WOO", "GET UP'AH" and "YEAH" continously. My neighbours must love me, for sure.
oh yeah this is tight
Your favourite drummers favourite drummer.
no other drummer impresses me and inspires me so consistently. literally every video theres something that blows my mind like the entire section at 1:28 where the ride comes in is completely insane.
🙏
I believe that's a Rogers Dynasonic, I have one as well and would like to know how to achieve that tone ? So nice !
magnificent
A man after my heart. If I could eat a breakbeat for breakfast, I would. If I could be the breakbeat then my drum career reached it's peak
I LoVe this Max.....took me right out of my negative funk for 3:05 minutes!!! 🎶
Hi Wendy! ♥️♥️♥️
Ooooooo this SNAPS!!!
I like it!
I quit drumming in 2006 because of a back injury. There’s not many drummers that amaze me. Carter Beauford blew me away with hi-hat syncopation/Morgan Rose for his showmanship/Stewart Copeland for his mixture of reggae/punk grooves/ and dimsunk for the amount of insane originality grooves.
Dude seriously…I could spend hours watching your playing and listening to the sounds you create.
So many people play with speed and power as if that’s the only thing…your approach is so beautiful man.
🙏
That Rogers snare drum sounds fantastic! Is it a Dyna-Sonic?
Yes it is :)
Bald man starts day like a champion & eats beats for breakfast.
I need a Spotify playlist of all your beats.
Coming soon :)
The tone on that snare is sweet and lovely and so authentic. Mmm mm.
Intricate snare / hi-hat patterns there after that space portal opened at 1:58 🌠🥁🌠
And nice mix putting that snare and hi-hat more in the forefront where the action is, and the bass drum a bit behind as a supporting element.
Dimsunk, the Modern Drummer / Producer / Space Portal Traveler.
😁
.
That hi-hat pattern after you've sent us in outer-space 😳🌠🌋
excellent, this my favorite of style of drums to play.
Everything is always excellent, but man, the way you speak with the hi-hat. Unlimited vocabulary.
Hell yeah Max, yeah !!!!!!
Woo!!! At it again… you just keep on giving. Thank you!! 🙏🏽
They are hard to play but when u do it it sounds very smooth and cool!
Oh my DimSunk! Beautiful
have mercy Max, tissa- vrrrrrp
Wow! That snare placements are so tight and excitingly placed thats dope. Sounds like a computer programed but flow like a real drummer. Smart as max bro. Next level
Appreciate it!
loved the space haha
Great great snare sound on this one. It’s a great tuning. It sounds full with a lot of room. Not even slightly choked and still maintaining a slight ring but not too much. The snare tension is dope too. Very nice snare sound on this one max
Glad you like it!
Some of the fills reminds me David Garibaldi style. Very nice ;-)
it's amazing!
Just perfect groove. Thanks for share your music.
Thank you too!
James Brown had 6 large coffees at Starbucks today ☕☕ ☕🥁☕☕☕
It looks like he had so much caffeine in is body that he spaced-out for a second on that cymbal hit at 1:58
🌠🥁🌠
😁
Thank you for these amazing fills. What a sound, what a pace!
Always a pleasure to watch your inspiring videos. It helps me a lot to improve my technique, so keep drumming like you do!
Cheers from France
Thank you very much!
I don't know how your drum sticks don't have lint on them as you're always sitting so deep in the pocket!
❤
How do you always manage to keep it so creative tho? Like fr, every time I think a drumming concept’s been explored to hell and back I open youtube and voila, there’s a new Max video to prove me wrong. I’d be salty if this wasn’t so damn TASTY.
🙏
What snare are you using in this one?? Sounds fantastic!
Rogers Dynasonic COB :)
Do you have any tracks or albums available ? Would love to listen to an album based on your beats . I can imagine you doing something in a dj shadow kind of style
Not of my own stuff yet... coming very soon :)
Floorless as always but was there a cut in there? I used to put cuts in my pockets when I was a little boy, my mum told me I would go blind??
Thx! Yes there is a cut.... I edited 2 performances together. They are full performances but cut them together because the camera ran out of battery on the first one.
Nice snare sound, the snares sound rich, crisp, and clear. 💰🥁💰
Did you put a 2nd mic under your snare Max? And if so, did you invert the phase on it?
Thx! No 2nd mic, just a 57 on the top :)
@@dimsunk Well, good recipe, it sounds nice and crispy! 🥧🥁 🥧
😁
.
@@dimsunk The crispy snares sound reminds me of a mic technique I saw a top engineer do when I used to work with him, an engineer that records and mixes for ECM Records amongst others, so we're talking top level productions, and that engineer was usually using 2 mics on the snare, one on top, and one on the bottom close to the snares, and he would flip the phase on that bottom mic, and then would blend those 2 mics during the mix and it would give a nice rich and crispy sounding snare.
Your crispy snare sound today reminded me of that.
Another interesting thing, despite that engineer having a bunch of top notch and expensive condenser mics on hand, he would use a simple $150 dynamic mic on top of the snare, and you guessed it, the almighty Shure SM-57. 🎤🥁🎤
...
Excellent. Love your high hat work but wish the volume on it was a bit higher so we can hear it better! Always fun to listen to your drumming!
