Debbie has been honest, kind, truthful, and upfront from the very beginning and reaction is valid. Also, how can you say Debbie didn't loose anything?? dude... she packed up her WHOLE life, went against the advice of her children and relocated to another country for a man who lied about how they intended for the m to spend their lives!! She also lost time, she's super old and doesn't have much time left to find love.

I think she handled it so well, I would be livid. What a colossal waste of energy, money and time. Like he's young, he has the whole rest of his life to whatever his silly ass wants. But Debbie is getting up there and what if she passed away a month(God forbid) she would have spent her last days getting her heart broken on national TV by a lying loser that didn't even care about her as a friend enough to not be a complete douche her whole trip. He acted like everything she said annoyed him and constantly talked down to him. Maybe if he wouldn't have been such an asshole and treated her like a friend, which is all I think she really expected, she might have hooked him up with a green card. When Big Ed (54) and Rose (23) were dating it was simple to see Ed was predatory in wanting a woman more than half of his age and even younger than his daughter.
And also Michael (43) and Juliana (23) were scrutinized for their age gap. Lets not forget many Westerners practice X tourism and use their passport and foreign status to have power over younger women and men in more empoverished nations.
I don't feel bad for Debbie because being a YtAmerican made her think shes Margot Robbie in a foreign country. I see the same power dynamic and exploitation of foreigners in Angela, Jenny, Danielle, Emily, Big Ed, Cesaer etc
If a man Debbies age is predatory for wanting to date women in their 20s so is Debbie.
They are not even in the same stages of life she is retirement age and he is just starting his life. People from lower socio-economic status countries have more pressure to make something of themselves, provide for their families and change their families economic status which is nearly impossible in their home country. What do you expect a young man/woman to want from a senior citizen?
Even within Western nations we know the sugar mama/daddy dynamic is older women and men using younger people trading intimacy/affection for wealth.
I am even sure Oussama is younger than Debbies son Julian. I'm not sure what she expected but its delusional and not as innocent as people claim it is.

I'm a US citizen, and I honestly don't understand our obsession with romantic love for marriage. We have so many aging women dying single on low income and little family support available after a lifetime of working and raising children. It's better to marry someone to be a life partner, and help pay bills and be there for important medical decisions than put it all on our children. It's impossible for most US citizens (especially women) to be financially stable completely on their own without support. I think the idea of marriage for stability is much better. I dont see anything wrong in foreigners wanting to come here and marry someone for that purpose as long as they committ to the partnership. We in the US have a growing issue of families breaking apart and many of us will die alone or stress our adult children making all the decisions. We could benefit from going back to more realistic purposes in marriage. I'd rather marry someone overseas who is committed to wanting stability and a better life who views marriage as a business transaction and partnership then spending the rest of my life chasing American men. Growing old and single because we didn't find our "soul mates " is one reason why nursing homes will be filled and depression from isolation and loneliness is becoming the norm for older adults.

Most of the women (and men) I know my age work round the clock, are single, have broken families, and most of us cope with American life by turning to alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, Marijuana, shopping, or eating unhealthy foods. There's no future here looking for love. No one has the time or mentality to sacrifice what's left for romance in the US. It's a joke that Disney and the church brainwashed us into believing. We dint realize it until it's too late. I totally support US citizens and foreign partnerships. At least US citizens have a better chance of finding better partners to help us succeed and foreign people who have real commitment, drive, and responsibilities, and values can help reshape our culture. The divorce rate and mental health rate in the US us terrifying. The majority of aging single people (especially minority women) have very little chance of finding a worthwhile partner here. Our culture wants us to keep breathing this illusion until we all wake up in a government run abusive nursing home with no family support.

in my opinion. It’s not Picasso’s cubism. He would be better off looking for alternatives
to sell his work online, at fairs, to tourist, on Etsy, etc. Create a specialty of his work so
people are curious. Join art groups, gave exhibits. there are plenty of ideas to try. But
he prefers to stand in one spot and have customers come to him and prove themselves art worthy.
If you want to survive and need to make some financial gain in a very difficult area, art, you need to work at it.

The whole Deebie/Oussama debacle seems scripted. Debbie probably did know Oussama through the internet, forming a friendship through their art, poetry. Somebody got the idea of suggesting, hey, we can make $1000-$1500 a day for this made up story. Now, in Oussama’s defense, he’s young, immature, no real life experience, living with parents on the farm, no job or work experience. He may have indeed felt he could “make a lot of money “ in the USA from his art and poetry. Debby seems rather callous in the end, though she has been entertaining. She knew better from the start.

Oussama looks like there's someone just off camera with a gun. His posture says "Is this hell? Did i accidentally go to hell? Ugh..."

You've got a point about feelings not changing suddenly like that if they're genuine. When I left my first husband it took me a year or so before I got bitter and could be mean to him. I was too heartbroken and still loved him and wanted the best for him.

It was clear he never loved her so she realized quickly and was hurt so she knew the reason he wanted her and that killed her feelings right away. She still loves the fake guy he pretended to be but not the real one.
