- D.B. Woodside reacts to the series finale of ‘Lucifer’ in a new interview with ET’s Katie Krause. The actor shares his thoughts on Amenadiel becoming God and what it was like filming his final scenes with Tom Ellis and Lauren German. D.B. also reveals his 11-year-old daughter is a fan of the series and reveals which character is her favorite. All seasons of ‘Lucifer’ are now streaming on Netflix.

DB was so good at being the God character, the entire last season was terrific, and Dan ending up with Charlotte in Heaven was the cherry on top!

Amena-god. Couldn't have picked a better person to be God than previous God's favorite son. Amendiel's journey from feeling like he failed his father's purpose for him to actually becoming God was amazing! And damn, he looked cool as shit on that throne!
Also, just saying, we need an Amenadiel Police Academy Antics mini-series, you know, with something like him failing to understand why he would need a gun if he already has wings.

He was such a great balance for Lucifer character, you couldn't help but love him . As the seasons went by I felt they were real brothers. Wonderful acting ,so enjoyable ! They will be missed.

Amenadiel as God made perfect sense. I was rooting for it since s5 when they started talking about Lucifer becoming God. I just felt it was Amenadiel’s perfect ending. So I’m so happy about the finale and everyone getting a great wrap up

@@harshittrivedi3293 yeah Lucifer is my favorite show too. It’s just very special. It’s funny and well written and the characters really draws you into their family. The actors all did a tremendous job and the writers too. Cause when they messed up sometimes - they found their way back

I do like Amenadiel. He is handsome, I love the way he struts. He is a true Warrior. He adds something special to scenes with the character of his brother, Lucifer. When those two get together, I tend to root for them to succeed. Great actor, D.B. Woodside and Tom Ellis. I do hope that they all get another project together.

All I miss was that Amena-god talked to Lucifer it seems like an interesting conversation (Former "Evil" person becomes a healer and the former Angry Angel becomes God the person the Devil had hated for millennia.)
You do get they let the devil off the hook and basically we send ourselves to hell to be tortured by demons...lol

Good thing I refrained from watching this until I finished the show entirely, because there are huge spoilers near the beginning of this!
Just finished the final episode and Loved how everything got wrapped up nicely. The proper ending was just magnificent; good job with the entire cast and writers!

I do think it was a good ending I just wish it didnt feel like a giant U-turn from the huge buildup of series 5 which built up all the reason why Lucifer should be god and him earning it. It just feels a bit like Jon Snow becoming King in the North only for a few episodes later for him to give it up.
This is exactly how I feel. It was very obviously tacked on at the last minute. The small stories were great and the conclusion was phenomenal, even though I predicted it ages ago. (My friends are sick to death of me telling them that someone was going to end up being "Kwan Yin" to console those trapped in Hell. They've had to hear it for over a year now)
But the U-turn was ridiculous. It made me so sad to see them completely trash the central message of season 2 (There is ALWAYS another way!) with a very clear message of "This is the ONLY way!"
If they'd have removed Rory, have Lucifer figure out on his own that he needs to go back to hell instead of manipulating him into it (which he hates, by the way!) it would have been epic. But now it's just another Torchwood, creating a daughter (grandson) just so she could be abandoned (murdered) by her father (his grandfather).
If u actually payed attention to the show it was Amenadiel being set up the whole time being God from the beginning with him being Gods warrior always following orders trying to make his dad proud or get attention from him,then we get to Amenediel who wants to stay on earth and learn how humans work and how he wanted to make the world a better place for Charlie to even becoming a cop just to help out a lil.Lucifer never really cared about humans or making the world a better place all Lucifer cared about was having fun,protecting his love ones and punishing evil.Even when Lucifer was supposed “to become God” he was still calling himself the devil and realized he doesn’t even want to become God ,it makes sense that the most responsible angel and the one who actually cares about making the world a better place and connecting with humans was Amenadiel

There has got to be more seasons, cause I LOVE THE SHOW & ALL THE CHARACTORS!!!!! One thing that bobbles me is WHY wasn't Trixie at her mothers death bed? What happened to Trixie? What happens next that baby Charlie has wings now? Still so many questions on everyone!!! NEED another season!!!!! LOVE THIS SHOW!!! Can't get enough of it!!! I've watched Lucifer over,over,over again & again, Lost count of how many times I've watched it!! in fact watching it again!!! Going on season 4 already!!!

They ended the show really well but have left me wanting more. Hope some spinoffs are given green lights around Rory and Charlie

For me the show could not have ended in a better way.
Maybe I would have wait for a better villain, but the ending for each character was great.
This was the one thing on the ending I loved...he deserved it and linda deserved being with god lol..and charlieeeee getting his wings..that filled the end with joy for me..less tears just happy lol

I appreciate the DB is aware this is not a kids' show, full of violence and scary scenes as it is. A lot of parents don't realise that some content is just inappropriate for kids, but DB got it right.

I love how because of Rory and the whole time travelling nonsense, I really thought lucifer was going to die but then they managed to make it where he doesn’t see Rory even thought he wanted too. And his purpose in hell was good. Also remember when Lucy went to hell and came back and it had been thousands of years for him but about a few months for earth? Think about how 40 years for Chloe was probably 100 thousand years for lucy
He makes the most sense for the job.

DB did a good job with this show. He kind of started out like Captain America did, a bit lame, but blossomed into a phenomenal character.

It's on Netflix here in America and many other countries. They picked it up after it left Fox after season 3. They also have it on other streaming platforms depending on where you live.

I can tell you I and extremely glad that Netflix pick the series backup and y'all were able to come to this ending it's a million times better than the ending you were forced to go with originally. Someone mentioned something about the animated part of one episode create a cartoon version of the show going forwards I would not be opposed however I would also be perfectly fine with the show just being completely over at this point. Much better this than going the Game of Thrones route where you just go too far and destroy the show all together

Ending kinda sucked they had all this build up previously with Lucifer's fight and sacrificing himself to save Chloe basically setting up Lucifer to become god, but then Amenadiel can just take the role like that? there's no rules or anything? he can just say he'll be god and it works and everyone accepts him?

My only complaint is I wish Chloe on her deathbed had told Rory to go visit her dad as he’s missing her. And do I mean only complaint as otherwise I thought it was perfect

Lucifer should have been able to change the Future. Didn't like him having to abandon his Family. If there would be a hell, they don't deserve therapy. That's what I think anyway.

Maze and Eve became bounty hunters working as a team - poor Trixie disappeared after Cloe came home with Rory, would have been good to have seen what happened to her.

@@Maatbeuker I disagree. Chloe and Lucifer get to spend an eternity together helping people break their hell loops. They are still partners and they get to help others. You say "ended up in hell" like they will be tortured or something. Lucifer was the king of hell and now he's come full circle in now helping instead of torturing. It's a great ending honestly. He controls everything so it's not like he's being forced down into hell like he was in the beginning. He now chooses to be there and he gets to live out his true purpose.

That's the "beauty" of running hell. He's been so many places that he can recreate them from his mind with no issue. He's not suffering down there anymore. Chloe accepted him as the devil and the fact that he runs hell. He's redefined himself as well. I like that they didn't change that He's the devil. He hated heaven because he found it boring so him being in heaven with Chloe for all eternity seems unrealistic
@@Maatbeuker They didn't stuck in hell. They can visit everywhere like Silver City or Los Angeles again. IMO, they ended up in hell is pretty great than ending up in Silver City because seeing Chloe that she wants to go to the hell because her love is there. It's just beautiful :)

DB ended well.... The series no... Lucifer Cant leave hell but Amenadiel God can have a wife...lol DB as an actor wow man amazing! Tom too but Lucifers last kiss with Chloes looked fake. DB brings emotion but they really Botched the ending storyline for Lucifer and Chloe. They left a ton unexplained.... Like if Lucifers daughter can fly to hell... Why the hell would she not just go see him? LOL
If Charlotte was Gods ex and left with God, how can she be in heaven with Dan. What happens to Trixie ? And if Ammenadel can go up and down to celebrate his sons birthday, why can’t Lucifer do the same thing? I actually liked season 5 ending better.
Charlotte was not God's ex, the Goddess was and she possesed Charlotte's body. It is Charlotte's soul that is in heaven with Dan, not her body. Lucifer could have visited LA, but the point is going back would have destroyed the time loop since Rory would never have felt abandoned by her father and therefore would never have been angry enough to manifest into the past and help him find his purpose as a healer. Besides Rory made him promise that he wouldn't change anything.
Why can't Lucifer do the same thing? Because they wanted a super contrived time travel plot that trashes the central message of season 2. They replaced "There's always another way" with "This is the only way".
It's really a copy of that Torchwood story where they created a grandson for Harkness just to have him murder the grandson. They specifically wrote a "no way out" situation negating the need for Lucifer to come to his own conclusion of needing to go back to Hell. Five seasons of choice being the central theme flushed down the toilet for a finale of "You have no choice!"

They established PERFECTLY that Lucifer would have NEVER abandoned Chloe and Rory by himself, which means Rory would have lived through a timeline where Lucifer was present. In that case, the timeline they were presenting would NEVER happen. Weak Plot hole that even half ignorant people like me can see.

you want my opinion D.B.? i hated it :) amenadiel becoming god is just the most boring and plain choice for this character and having him on earth would have been so much better ending for him. why? because that really closes his path not in an obvious way, but it would felt like it brought something new, something fresh. and that's only one thing i hated out of... well, basically any thread in this show (except for dan's last moment - not his journey tho - and mazeve)

To be honest... Adding time travel to the plot has done nothing other than destroy the entire series... If time travel is/was possible, then why hasn't anyoen done it before... There's a MULTITUDE of events in human history that could be remedied by time travel.
You know this Lucifer is based on DC Comics Lucifer right?
In this show Luci got Nerfed to the ground, in the comics Luci can time travel
@@Kizaoners1 Yes, i do know .. It still doesn't change the fact that the time travel element in the last season in my opinion pretty much blew the entire tv series apart. Also - since Lucifer (The tv series) doesn't know at all how it works, it suggests that this iteration of him has never heard of the possibility. Of the ways this tv series could have ended it was - again in my opinion - the weakest way possible.
@@eidodk Not the series, just the season. If we look at the point of that we have seen Luci - his father, Luci - Trixie etc, we have not seen Luci as Father, on that I like the decision to bring a kid in, how do you "force" a kid into the present from the future -time travel.
I would have been fine with it if Luci decides to be there for her when she grows up, with this way how ended he made the mistake what his father made, and promised wont do it...

For her to become so mad, she time travels, she would have had to have experienced her dad as missing, yet she claims to be the reason for his disappearance.
That's what peels the story apart. They establish that Lucifer wouldn't have left on his own, which means Rory would hve lived through a timeline where Lucifer was present.
If that is the case, then how does she ever become mad at him for leaving, so that she can travel back in time to "help him find his calling", which is what makes him leave in the first place..
The logic doesn't add up.
