It was pricey for sure but we thought it was worth it, especially after we went to one on Maui last year, the price was double this one and we didn’t think the food was as good. I don’t remember it ‘being in the parking lot’. They had a stage area and a grassy arena area when we went, but maybe that’s changed? We were there in September and it was warm but not hot 😊
You went all the way to Hawaii and order Bar-B-Que chicken to eat. I think you can get Bar-B-Que chicken just down the street from your house. How about Bar-B-Que squid or something more Hawaiian. Looked pretty good though.
Even when living in Hawaii, to be able to experience all of this you'd need money or luck. When I lived there in my early years we got lucky a few times and we would win or a wealthy friend would give us tickets to performances. Of course there were lived performances on the streets often felt more authentic as it was more story and learning rather than flashier moves to attract visitors. Whenever we got to see the priced performances, mom would manage to scrape enough money to get me and my siblings some cheap food, but often it wasn't enough. She wanted us to see whatever we could so we'd often keep our mouth shut. There are also events that would give out feasts just for taking part in education events. Mom always made us go often since we would be able to eat authentic great food as much as we want. Even though the educational aspect or religion teachings got boring after doing it a few times, the food was always fantastic and the staff was very understanding. We weren't the only poor people to do this but as long as the program got some tourists to take it, we were always allowed back. It was mostly government funded anyways.
@InsainCat Productions of course! We actually just met a native Hawaiian on our trip to California a few weeks ago that had to move because everything is just too expensive in Hawaii. It’s really sad that it’s come to that.
@@AbbieandWiebe so it's gotten worse huh? Most Hawaiians live on the streets. There are efforts to get their land back for them but it's still difficult and the more tourists attractions the more likely they are to be kicked out. Much like native Americans.

@Willy Benavides awesome! We had the premium tickets as well. The biggest thing is getting the seating right up front and getting to skip the longer general admission line. You also get a free photo of your group. You guys will have a blast! Be sure to drink a blue Hawaiian for us! Lol
