    That is a great tip about packing a smaller bag to change just in case your hotel room is not ready. I recently had a situation where I go to a hotel too early and had to take my entire suitcase into the small bathroom to change. I did it but wasn’t fun. Anyway, the resort looks great and I’m definitely curious about the dolphins!

      Yeah, such a pain right? I don't know why they don't make the lobby bathrooms larger knowing how many guests will need that feature, but if we travel smarter it doesn't really matter I guess. ;p

    I have never had the opportunity to go to Hawaii ... but the more I see pictures and the more I learn about this place, the more it makes me want to go! 👍
    Well, it's not nice to make fun of those who are on the stage dancing ... never something planned in advance from them I guess and then it must be rare to see people comfortable in this dance 😊
    Thank you very much for the tips, really a very big hotel with nice amenities, I was very impressed by the choice of transport ... trains, boats, buses ... woahhh and so on food ... it made me want to eat immediately 🤣

      Marco, Hawaii is gorgeous!!! You should def plan a trip. Haha, I wouldn't have done any better up there. They were amazing sports about it all. We stayed at the Waikoloa to see the dolphins and for my daughter to interact with them. My favorite things to do were riding the train, riding the boats, viewing the Asian Art, swimming in the great pools, shopping nearby and breakfast. Aloha, Mahalo, Ke Akua Pū.

      We did change finally change in the restroom. I just thought they would get us checked in much earlier but that was silly. However, the restroom was super tiny so it would be helpful to pack a small backpack with the items rather than trying to open suitcases in there and find what you need.

    Love that hotel, going back next month. For the life of me I don’t understand the complaints about the size of the resort, it’s amazing. The fact that it is so spread out keeps it from feeling the the Hilton Waikiki, which always feels congested. The Ocean towers, although far, are quiet and serene.

    The Hilton Waikoloa Village has always struck me as resembling Disneyland. Hilton Waikoloa Village resembles Disneyland in many ways, including, but not limited to:
    1. The monorail 🚝 that moves people inside hotel grounds from place to place
    2. The river channels and the boats 🚤 that transport hotel guests inside the hotel grounds from place to place
    3. In some parts, small little islets inside the boat channels where there is at least one resident crane that lives on its own islet inside the boat channels
    4. The very large swimming pools and large water slides 🛝
    5. Best of all, last but CERTAINLY NOT least: THE DOLPHINS 🐬!
    The Hilton Waikoloa Village definitely sounds like one Disneyland-like hotel, doesn’t it?
    I’ve stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Village twice before, when my parents & I took two vacation trips to Kailua-Kona in the Big Island 🏝️ of Hawaii back in 2000. We went there in April 2000 and then again in late-July/early-August 2000. I got the personal up-close encounters with the dolphins 🐬, although unfortunately I didn’t get to actually swim with the dolphins 🐬.
    I have VERY fond memories of the Hilton Waikoloa Village. 😊🎉🎉🎉 I LOVE this Disneyland-like hotel!

      How many times have you stayed?

    • @lizzie9300
      @lizzie9300 19 днів тому

      @@RadiantRealty My folks & I have only been to the Big Island of Hawaii twice in my life as a family of three (a couple-which are my parents!- and their only-child- which is me!). My Dad has been to the Big Island of Hawaii several times before I was born and before he and my Mom met each other, because some of his cousins used to own land and property there back in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Both times that my folks & I have taken vacation trips to the Big Island of Hawaii and stayed at the HWV (Hilton Waikoloa Village) were in the year 2000. Both vacation times that we spent on the Big Island of Hawaii we went to Kailua-Kona, and both vacations we have stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Village.
      In April 2000, and then again in late-July/early-August 2000, we went to Kailua-Kona- that is, we flew Hawaiian Airlines flights into Kailua-Kona, albeit with a layover in Honolulu, and then after arrival in Kailua-Kona we rented a car, drove from Kailua-Kona Ellison Onizuka International Airport to our hotel 🏨- the Disneyland-like Hilton Waikoloa Village!- which was our home for the vacation both times. Yes, most of the days we remained in the hotel enjoying the amenities and all the on-site activities, as you advise us viewers in your video above, as Hilton Waikoloa Villige is a top-$ hotel and therefore quite pricey. The only times during both vacation trips back in 2000 that we did leave the hotel were to go and visit some relatives of ours who live in Kailua-Kona. We toured Kailua-Kona itself, had dinner with those relatives of ours at a Chinese restaurant in Kona, and visited those relatives of ours at their home in Kailua-Kona.
      So, short answer to your question: I’ve stayed at the HWV (Hilton Waikoloa Village) 2 times- TWICE. And I’ve only been to Big Island of Hawaii two 2️⃣ times in my life- both times in the same year (2000). And both times I’ve been on the Big Island of Hawaii were on the Kailua-Kona side of the island.

    • @RadiantRealty
      @RadiantRealty  18 днів тому

      @@lizzie9300 wow thanks for sharing Lizzie. It's nice that you have some relatives there on the island. The resort is definitely on the pricier side but if you utilize the amenities like you did it makes sense. Hopefully you get to visit again soon. That was almost 25 years ago now. How time flies. ;)

    I just stumbled upon this video and it was absolutely informative.
    My husband and I are going to stay at the ocean towers in September of this year. I see that there's a loo out when the grounds which is good because the 2 things that I want to book ahead of time is the manta ray swim, which ive booked, and a luau. So it's good to know that there's a luau on the grounds. Even though you're a video was from several years ago, Did you feel the need to have a rental car the entire time while you were there question? Mark we are staying for a week and I know a few of the days. We are just probably going to stay at the resort and if need be maybe catch a trolley that you mentioned In your video if we wanna go to stores, etc. We do plan on doing some sight scene so a few were those days. We both have a car but I feel is though we won't need it The entire time. was there a rental car facility on the resort? Or did you do that at Airport? The days we decide to rent a car will be the days we decide To Do most of the driving and venturing out but with how much stuff is available at the resort, We may spend half the time there in the other days venturing out. We are part of HGV as well. Were you able to swim at all of the other pools in the village or just at your specific hotel?
    I just wanna get stuff taking care of ahead of time So that I don't run into any major issues when we arrive.

    • @RadiantRealty
      @RadiantRealty  Рік тому +1

      Hello, thanks for watching. I think you will have an amazing time during your stay. We didn't have a rental car during our stay. We took an Uber from the airport to the resort and back. But, if you are staying a bit longer a rental car for a portion of your stay to sight see would be ideal. I don't remember a rental car facility on the resort but that would be worth a phone call to inquire further. Yes, we could swim at any pool on the resort during our stay. Have an amazing vacation!!!

    Good resort for a few nights (stayed twice for 6 free nights [12 nights total] back when Hilton HHonors offered good rewards - 15+ years ago), but it's a royal PITA to get out of there - the restaurants suck and they appear to still suck and are overpriced. The best parts of the island are outside of this place, so if you stay there, only stay a few nights to experience the resort (which is beautiful) and then get the heck outa there and stay in a condo. BTW....the lagoon is full of sunscreen oil on the water surface and there is barely any fish. Much better snorkeling elsewhere on the island. Trust me.

      @RadiantRealty  3 роки тому

    I have stayed here a number of times over the years and my most recent stay was not good. Its a big place and it requires a lot of employees to have it run smoothly. Since you can earn good money collecting unemployment - it is difficult for them to recover from covid and bring back employees.Some of the food places were closed, trams not running as often, hours shortened - you get the picture. Hopefully they can get it back up to speed soon.

      Oooh, that's exciting. The Lagoon tower is probably the most convenient location but each tower has it's perks. Some a bit further from the action might be a little quieter if you don't mind riding the tram or boat or enjoy a good walk through the gardens.

    Not for host of this video ( b/c you have kids and were looking for a “ Disneyland”) but for others who are watching who may not have been to Hawai’i . The locals would want you to see REAL HAWAI’I and would want you to know that the resorts are NOT the real Hawai’i. They would want you to contribute your vacation dollars to mom and pop establishements and to get away from the more plastic and packaged Hawai’i. I LIVED on Kaua’I , Maui, and Ohau. In case you are curious, Kaua’ i was my fav, the far north part of the island at 12 o’clock on the dial. But I do NOT have kids ( thank God!! love dogs) and prefer peace and island beauty. I recommend going to the local farmers market on each island. I went to one Luau , and I HATED IT!!! I only went to take my Mom , who was visiting. I am a vegetarian and I do not drink. There was little that i could eat. BWT in this video the luau dancers were doing a New Zealand style of dance NOT HAWAI’IAN!!!! Look at Merry Monarch videos that you can see on You Tube or buy at the Walmarts on the islands. Most island people DO have Aloha spirit. Going to the resorts is only hurting the locals, that is if you care. I understand that kids are a major anchor in traveling and therefor limiting one’s options.
    When you travel anywhere, do a little research first and respect the locals. Remember, as far a Hawai’i goes, they were INVADED by non Hawai’ians beginning with Captain Cooke. Hawai’ians are trying to hang on to their culture and language. Funny how people in MT and ID complain about being invaded by those from CA, OR, and WA.

      Generally, I love to travel more locally but if we do pay big bucks for a more all inclusive type experience then we usually spend the bulk of our time there for obvious reasons. We will definitely make it back to enjoy the real Hawaii also. Looking forward to it. Thanks for watching. :)

    • @RadiantRealty
      @RadiantRealty  4 роки тому

      I believe the trolley goes to the beach. Just a 5-10 minute ride if so. We didn't visit the beach because we had so much fun snorkeling, but I believe it's a public beach so I wouldn't count on any lawn chairs or towels being provided. You may want to call the hotel directly for beach info since we didn't make it there firsthand :) When are you visiting the resort?

    • @RadiantRealty

      We took an Uber or Lyft from the airport to the resort. I'm not sure if the resort charges a daily fee for parking. If you don't plan on sightseeing other parts of the island I think an Uber or Lyft would be the more affordable option. If you plan to sightsee I would ask the resort about daily parking fees. If they have them maybe Uber to the resort and spend your time there then move on to a less expensive accommodation that doesn't charge a parking fee for a car rental during the remainder of your stay? Unless money is no object, in which case, just rent a car and pay for valet ;p

      @@RadiantRealty I have been in all three towers and like them all. Drinks are expensive so I stop at Costco first to stock up on snacks and alcohol/soda pop. If you want a reasonable meal you can always go to the Queens market. I usually book through Costco and get a great package deal which includes flight, hotel, and includes no resort fee and breakfast every morning and a rental car with 2 drivers. Since Covid I notice the breakfast are not included. I am staying there again in October for 15 nights so if the Costco package doesn’t include breakfast within the next couple months it looks like we will have breakfast at the Queens Market (ABC store) and they have a good variety.
