***** Avril Lavigne is a very successful rocker from Canada like Fefe is. That is the comparison. She never reached the success level of Avril though she was just as good. Just didn't play any instruments.
She definitely has the voice for this type of music genre, and I absolutely love the way she looked in the music video. She's one of the few girls I've seen who look gorgeous with an eyebrow piercing. She can really pull it off. Wish her newer songs were similar to this one though. I love it.[=
It's kind crazy the way; the music business, is. This c.d. is hardcore. Should of been released; not dropped. Just because, she is black; doing hardcore rock. The Isley Brothers; were throwing down in metal funk. In the 70's. Hendrix; was even in their band. Prince/Andre Cymone/Funkadelic/Living Colour/Chaka Khan/Slave/The Time/and many others. Have a legacy in rock. It's time to let music be music. I play bass. with a flav of metal mixed in with hardcore funk. Fefe Dobson; is the best.
Im just in disbelief, on WHY she didn't totally blow up. Incredible talat and energy... The music industry is largely controlled by corrupt, power mangers and perverts... They don't deserve her anyway.... Pigs. ~ Big Love and Huggiez to the spectacular Fefe Dobson!
2020, I still love this song. Underrated, but it was a BIG personal song for me when it came out in 2006. I remember the Sunday Love album/project kept being pushed back and not released for a very long time and she was having troubles with her label at the time. I was a HUGE fan of her first album and this song was a GREAT follow up. Shame the label fumbled such a great song. If it were released by Avril or whoever, it would've easily shot to the top of the pop charts at the time. It really typifies the sound of that era. Loved her music during this period.
I stumbled across this in part because this song appeared on Jordin Sparks's sophomore album... but this version (the original) is so much better. This was song was meant to be pop/rock!! I really like her voice too, too bad her record label fucked her over, I wouldn't mind hearing this on the radio!!
Still a Fefe stan in the year of our lord 2023. Remember when I was on a Fefe forum & made Fefe sweaters and couldn't figure out how to mail them & I cried because I didn't mean to commit fraud.
Maybe she isn't as famous as Avril Lavigne, Ashlee Simpson nor Kelly Clarkson, but she inspired and influenced several artists that are more famous than her: Rihanna and Selena Gomez.
Reminds me off early pink and no doubt I could defiantly hear this on the radio and enjoy it.I remember when fefe came out I was in my 20s and I thought bout time.a chick with attitude that was back in the much music days how I miss those days props to her still going at it!!!
I miss this Fefe so much. It's been years and I've still not grown tired of this song. Fuck her record label for not liking that Sunday Love wasn't "black" or pop enough.
It is harder for a person of color to make it big in rock/metal and all its sub-genres. It also fid not help that she came out at the same time as avril lav.
Fefe is an amazing artist! Her record company totally dropped the ball with her, I love her music and her style! Fe, you're always in my heart, thank you!
OMG I forgot this song existed!! I keep coming back to it eventually though, cause it's just sooo goooood. I remember hearing this when I was like 13, that was over 10 years ago now!! I used to love it, still do. I kind of wish she stuck to music like this, instead of generic pop stuff that she does today
I liked to consider her mixed even though I connected with her through her skin tone, i always look at her as a black female. even though she isn't what i would define as black because lets face it her culture is very white. either way she multi talented and deserves more recognition then her counterparts.
Who do we have to campaign to get this album released on streaming? It's so good....probably one of my fave pop-rock albums ever! Deserves to be heard!
@@simonc4510 Oh, that blows! Her entire discog is on Spotify in the US, including Sunday Love and the single version of This Is My Life. This music NEEDS to be global!
i absolutely love this girl she's an amazing artist with a unique personality and i think she should be more famous than she is :)
She didn't get picked for the contract with the 😈 that's when you become a household name!😂
I agree with you, 100% I loved her in the 00's and now. I blasted her out ofy head phones and speakers until I had to get new ones 🤣🙌 @Drew Disaster

true talented singers can change their voice in what ever style they want. Her sound is way different from then and now. I like then better then now. But both are good.
Love this song.

@Jannaa no it's fefe she sung back in 06 and she also wrote it. Jordin said she loved it and wanted to record it

Fefe deserves mad credit for trends and her songwriting. Jordan Sparks covered this song on her second album
Ikr
also Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus!
I love how Jordin removed all the sexual tension from the song! Boo!
@@abdulal-shaikh648 - also Lilyjets
but Fefe has the best hands down!
@@lucystoner i agree with what you said. jordin sang with elegance and class on her version!
A TIMELESS BOP
❤️
Do not call this song a fucking bop. It’s a CLASSIC.
THANK YOU FEFE FOR THE PUNK/ROCK & EMO BLACK GIRLS COMMUNITY! ♡♡♡
Now Willow Smith also makes pop punk
Oh high school, such great memories of a punk/scene awkward black girl! :-D
That's actually the best part about her. Made her stand out from the Avril Lavignes of the world.
***** Avril Lavigne is a very successful rocker from Canada like Fefe is. That is the comparison. She never reached the success level of Avril though she was just as good. Just didn't play any instruments.
***** anyway you slice it she has black roots.
***** It's not shameful to be black. she's part black and other things as well, there's no denying that
***** you do know being black has nothing to do with your current location right?
She definitely has the voice for this type of music genre, and I absolutely love the way she looked in the music video. She's one of the few girls I've seen who look gorgeous with an eyebrow piercing. She can really pull it off. Wish her newer songs were similar to this one though. I love it.[=
Left eye from tlc looked pretty with an eyebrow piercing.
fefe fefe we still love you
Raven Roars FeFe the best
I miss her. 😥❤️
She's the best!
dark skin emo 😍😍😍
Mmmmm... And she's older than me. 💖💖💖💖
This song should have been massive. Such a phenomenal pop song💗
The world was busy listening the garbage from Britney.
Absolutely phenomenal!!!
This is alternative pop rock, not merely pop.
Facts
actually, black people created rock '-'
It's historically and spiritually accurate. And it's a hugely important genre of music. 😀
Yes Amen.
Truth!
This video was found when fossils were discovered. I was there.
Who?
Cause rock began back in 1956
I'm not entirely sure who did tbh...
This girl is ridiculously beautiful wow
Sunday Love was her best album. I miss badass rocker Fefe.
Her style reminds me of Joan Jett in this video.

So this is the girl that inspired rihannas look....i can see that
Oh well, thats kinda messed up tho
Basically. #fefediditfirst
She didn’t inspire shit
@@_ekb_5686 I guess it was the goth look dark red lips and a short hair do the look was more popular on Rihanna.
The embarrassing part is you won’t think she’s inspired other women singers of other races, because she’s a rocker, that is black.
Definitely see where Rihanna style came from . DEF JAM
Rihanna definitely stole her style
2014 and I STILL listen to Fefe's stuff. God damn shame the radio/mainstream didn't embrace her. She had hits!
Hey! She's been on the radio recently, just saying.
2022 here!
I agree. Her albums were so solid.
I hope you caught her newest ones from last year...
I hope she makes more newest ones!!

jeez she really influenced a ton of female performers style and performance wise
Rihanna in particular from 2006-2010
Katy Perry as well
This song was too far ahead of its time. And its still🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The whole Sunday Love..

Just wanna let Fefe know I still love her in 2022!
Fefe is such a severely underrated songwriter, it takes massive chops to make a song in this style actually catchy
Tru tru
2019 anyone? 🤷♀️
So ahead of the crib. I dont think the industry realized how many black alt kids are in the world that easily gravitated to you. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
this will always be one of my favs
Freakin awesome!
One of the most underrated artist. Love her songs
Still a Fefe stan in the year of our lord 2023. Remember when I was on a Fefe forum & made Fefe sweaters and couldn't figure out how to mail them & I cried because I didn't mean to commit fraud.
Its like "Hot Topic: the Band"
One of my fave songs ❤️ Her voice, style and everything is so unique.

we miss you Fefe! don't let Canada be the only country who gets to see you in concerts!
Almost 16yrs later and still an absolute gem 2021

Early Pink? Surely you mean later Pink? Early Pink was all Rnb-ish 🤷🏽♀️
She gives me Joan Jett vibes here.
im sorry but that toilet scene is iconic like who else can look that good sittin on a toilet
This song is painfully underrated
Fefe Dobson - Rock version,
Jordin Sparks - Soft version,
Me : Love both of them :D
My favorite song by Fefe Dobson 🖤💋🤍💋❤️🖤💋🤍💋❤️🖤💋🤍💋❤️
reminds me of Green day
Her style looks more like Joan Jett
Ah, kidhood nostalgia. It still affects me till this day. Safe and Healthy travels to all. 🙏🏾

how come she never blew up????
Others in the industry thought she should not play rock n roll! racism basically.
bullshit were the proof?
We all know why she did not blew up. The wrong skin color for rock sadly.
Ok. Wrong color of skin for rock? Really?
It is harder for a person of color to make it big in rock/metal and all its sub-genres. It also fid not help that she came out at the same time as avril lav.
It is so weird when you come across a song that you forgot about and it takes you back to that time and all the memories from that time.

2024 legends!!!! Fefe, Please come to the US!!!!!! This song was on repeat my entire freshman year of college!!!!
Fefe Dobson or Jordan Sparks did both a great job with this song.

I learned about this song from Jordin Sparks, she covered it on her album and when I looked it up one day I saw this was the original. 😍😍😍 Love it.
Her vocal tone is EPIC here 🔥
Bloody brilliant song! So many memories :)
They should play her more on the radio.
found this song by mistake, best mistake ever!
Wholy Wow! New fan. Slightly Joan Jet with some Jene Simmons lip sync. Great pop song, Easily to relate to. Talented woman. Hot too.
Ugh this is so good. I remember hearing this for the first time and relating to it so hard. What a classic🔥
