Just sorted out a similar issue on my 272. Rebuild soup to nuts, ran great then started running lean. Found a bad leak at the throttle shaft, picked up an aftermarket carb...still lean. I remembered your video about Tillotson metering lever adjustment...raised it a bit and it runs much better!
Love your stuff watching from Bristol England rebuilt one of these last week got it cheap crank seals were gone and burnt it up lovely tool now love um all
Hi Tinman, nice topic on the 372. I have had issues with saw dust getting into the little breather hole on the top side of the carb and causing runnability issues. I now attach a small piece of blue filter foam to the bottom side of the air filter so it covers the air hole thus keeping the saw dust out. No more plugged screen in the carb.
She is a sweetie. I think your right, compound issues. You have way more experience than me i would lean more to carb issues. . Nice to see you're young family doing well. .. Cheers man.
Good mention on the work ethics of your profession. I don't care if a man works as a laborer w/ a broom or he's a pipe welder at a power plant. Do your job to the best of your ability. Be punctual etc. etc. And I'm not seeing this in the newer generations. Anyway good mention. Don't forget the carb kit 🙃👍.
How indeed did you father that cutie? Nice detective work. Nobody’s perfect. Hopefully that saw will rip trouble free until you have another brainstorm to make more power.
On a 372 I like to take an old crusty hi-top air filter and cut out the flocking and glue some uni foam in it's place. Works well for me, and in a commercial setting, between the air-injection and the oiled foam I don't have to maintain it very often and absolutely nothing ever gets past.
Tinman, you mentioned the 460 spraying you, Stihls have a flat disc check valve that lets air in the tank but let's it build pressure in the tank, I suppose to keep it from venting vapor for emissions. They will build pressure in the tank when sitting in the heat.
I had a saw that gave trouble for a year. Always suspected air/fuel problems… one day I thought to check the coil clearance with a feeler gauge, and it’s ran like a top ever since. I always just set them with a piece of paper before🤷♂️.
Hey Tinman- maybe off-topic but here goes… have you noticed that cutting (bucking) trees that have been felled for a few weeks or months is harder on chains- dryer wood makes chains dull quicker- than bucking a tree that is felled almost immediately? This has been my perception-
Hey Tinman been a fan for a while now finally got my hands on a 365 x-torq it’s a 2016 model. I think I prefer the low top for it but I was just wondering if I should put the hd filter adapter on it and run the high top with the bigger filter what’s your opinion?
Did you try out Bellhopper's sonic solution. He mentioned it in a video to share when he was fixing the carb on a friend's nail compressor. It works great but something in the concoction eats magnesium he made sure to mention that. I love you guys you share to guide and teach. Not all secretive like some others. I emailed it to you.
What rpm u running on that? And that series is my fave saw 371-372 saws i have a 372xpw i built from a crushed saw from a logger! And now im working on a 395 and 288
My ms460 is blued on the upper end of the rod. No idea how long it was like that before i got it, but I slapped a new piston and bearing in and it hasn't blown up yet in the 5.5 hours I've put on it. Just wish I could get the damn thing to run better.
HI TINMAN U need 2 check the sparplug see if it is bright blue if not clean W a flat file and wire brush check again 2 see what spark looks like when the spark plug is gone its gone most of the time they wont even start a chainsaw much less run throw it away its time 4 the trash can put a new spark plug try it again take the fuel filter out of the tank clean W carb cleaner and clean W air hose the next 2 check the screen in carb clean it its better if U can use non E gas 😊😊 OMG 7 17 2O23
Bought an old ass stihl 009L would start 1st pull til it warmed up would not restart found the coil kill wire would get pinched and grounded where it passes through the case halves it didn't get de-flashed by stihl would bite right down
Can I ask a questing got a 365 x torq and top end was scored when I got it so flung on a aftermarket cyclnder and piston the compression is so much I can't actually get it to start and fuel starts to leak out the decomp valve when I'm pulling it over 😊
Hi tinman I’m having trouble with a husky 55 I just picked up the saw is in awesome condition it’s got plenty of compression spark and it’s getting fuel but it will not fire like the kill switch when your pulling it it just won’t fire any ideas?
Not even a pop? If it's got spark, is getting fuel and has enough compression, maby check the flywheel key to make sure it isn't sheared. If intermittent or no spark, I'd disconnect the kill wire from coil and retry. Great saws! Good luck with it!
Flying Radio Control airplanes with basically the same engines, and specifically the same carburetor….the diaphragm is the most common guilty part. Thanks to the petroleum industry! Greedy punks selling garbage.😢

Thanks for answering my question Tinman! Don't know how I missed it first time around. Well done sir!
Great diagnosing Tinman. That cutie pie is growing like a weed

I have to watch the 460 videos I can't decide. I love your 266 builds and the 372 builds.

The 272 series is super simple saw to start with! The 61 is a great saw to mod too!
She is a sweetie. I think your right, compound issues. You have way more experience than me i would lean more to carb issues. . Nice to see you're young family doing well. .. Cheers man.
Hey Tin Man, just watching the video… don’t rule out a bad tank vent. I have had that before, and you can chase your tail trying to tune a saw.
Your little girl is beautiful family first brother and cherish the time with her 👍👍
Listening to this while I assemble a MS441 with a Hyway big bore.

Thankyou for you support Mr Ozark!!
Fingers crossed the carb kit and cleaning fixes it!

A lot of great thoughts. No carb metering diaghram…… try to keep tuning carb because forgot to add gas. Lol. IT happens.
She's adorable tinman
Great job tinman ❤❤❤
Cute. Time flies

Throw the multimeter on the coil, should be less than 8k ohms i think that's the upper limit on those if I remember correctly.
she is growing like a weed. Enjoying her while she young they grow up super fast.
Good strong content, love it.
I’ll keep listening, but she is really pretty.
do you have clucth drum olympyk with kunya by oleo mac chainsaw what its look like, old chainsaw here no clucth drum and no guidebar and chain. tnx

Check the metering lever in the carb. It's probably too high.
what a cutie, oh tin man your gonna have your hands full--lol
Coil is bad, or the crank seals are shot
Go with a foam filter no?
Halo bos 👍 apakah mesin 365 bisa pake sylinder tipe itu
Your fuel filter might not be filtering properly.

Thank you I was thinking it might be a timing issue I’m going to check the flywheel and coil position
Had to put a carb kit in my 562 because at full throttle it would stall from lack of fuel.
Mine did that years ago to
I just picked up a absolutely minty 365 special from it's original owner for 400 bucks
Those are great saws
Diaphragm. 2 minutes in, best guess. Ultrasonic and fresh rubber. 😊
Flying Radio Control airplanes with basically the same engines, and specifically the same carburetor….the diaphragm is the most common guilty part. Thanks to the petroleum industry! Greedy punks selling garbage.😢
If a Stihl doesn't spit fuel at you you have an issue 😂
How's the tinman famley
Doin great!!
@@tinmanssaws Did you ever get that cs590 running right?
Must be that goofy pipe
Yah , those pipes are rubbish 😉
