Wow. Every few months, I remember how dominant Tim Lincecum used to be. This game describes his overall playoff performances perfectly. Anyway, I’ll kind of miss Joe Buck on the World Series broadcast. Sure, he may be “boring” but the nostalgia is there. Things like “3-run home run Rentería!” stick daggers in your heart with their simplicity.
With time (and really over the last year unfortunately given the timing of his move) I've come to love Joe Buck. He was the voice of the sport for so long. He's been calling the World Series since before I was born and I'm not ready for a new guy. Hope Fox asks Matty V to come back.
Speaking of Cliff Lee and the Giants, there was a 'forgotten classic' I fondly remember. Cliff Lee went 9 shutout innings and Matt Cain went TEN shutout innings. I think it was in the 11th inning, and the game wasn't even close to 3 hours long at that point. It was a pitching duel I haven't seen since.
This era of baseball is so nostalgic for me. I was winding down my unimpressive Little League career at this point and was just starting to get into paying attention to the big leagues, particularly because the Giants made the World Series right after my family moved to the area. Not as much a fan of theirs any longer after a move to KC a little bit before the 2014 series but this one will always be nostalgic for me. Thank you for this episode and this series, it's all been a fun watch.
My high school science teacher, Mr. Vansambeek had a paper in the front window of his classroom saying, "The shot heard round Texas" signifying the impact of the Renteria 3-Run homer the next morning when I went to his 7:00 A.M. class. I saw this live and did my best to not get too loud after the Giants won as to not upset my mom.
I said this on an earlier video but I’ll say it again. I wish I was invested in baseball back in the day like I am now. Would’ve loved to see these games live.
finally, a forgotten classic that the giants WIN. i kid. thanks for all your videos in the offseason!! EDIT: buster posey was a rookie. a ROOKIE. and he guided that pitching staff all the way to a championship. 28 forever!!
I really enjoy your work in general, but I appreciate you even more for this playlist. I’ve had three strokes and don’t remember why I walk into rooms anymore, so refreshing my memory of these games is super fun. Might I suggest Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS (BOS v NYY, in which the Sox became the first MLB team to overcome a 3-0 series deficit); Game 4 of the 1993 WS (TOR v PHL, an insane 15-14 back and forth contest); Game 7 of the 1992 NLCS (PIT v ATL, because Sid Bream); Game 2 of the 2013 ALCS (DET v BOS, with His Papiness’ grand slam that changed the whole series) or Game 7 of the 1991 WS (ATL vs MIN, a 10-inning one-run masterpiece)? I’d love to see how you’d edit those together. Thanks so much for letting me relive these cool moments.
Makes you wonder what would have happened if the Rangers kept Lee for 2011? 2011 was mainly an offense battle (Hamilton, Cruz, and Beltre vs. Pujols, Freese, and Molina) but the Cards had an ace in the form of Carpenter which was crucial for Game 7. Even in their WS years, the Rangers never had a good rotation or consistent pitching.
Timmy’s hook, 4 seam, 2 seam the the dreaded circle change. Nasty to watch man. Love that boch let him throw as many as it took for those two no nos with a 89-90 fb. Both just shy of 150 pitches if I’m right. Both against sd. One to hector sanchez the other to buster. He and buster were just coworkers from what I hear.
As a life long Giants fan this was my favorite WS win. They really were a completely average team that should probably not even been in the post season. What a win!

It's easy to forget how fantastic Tim Lincecum and Cliff Lee were in their primes.
I really wish Tim’s prime just, lasted longer.
Also Madison Bumgarner
can't imagine what the giants would've looked like with a longer prime for the freak, fucking scary 😔
@@appletrader888don’t be sad it’s over, be happy we experienced 3 World Series, 2 cy young’s and 1 Freak 😎
Tim lincecum was a fkin dawgggggg 💯 😈

This game was on my 8th birthday living in Northern California, and this game is the reason I am a Giants fan to this day.
dude same with me lmao, it wasn’t my 8th birthday but I was 8 at the time, where are you from
I am gonna miss the forgotten classic thank u exe for these vids

Tim Lincecum at his absolute peak in the 2010 postseason
I said this on an earlier video but I’ll say it again. I wish I was invested in baseball back in the day like I am now. Would’ve loved to see these games live.

This game is special for me, a San Francisco Giants fan since 1976. At last, The Promised Land.

I know right? Hard to believe they let him go after 2010.
@@baseballsoffury642 It was resign Lee or get Beltre.
Lincecum will forever be my favorite pitcher. Absolute money.
13 years later, Bochy would lead the Rangers too their first World Title in franchise history

Both just shy of 150 pitches if I’m right. Both against sd. One to hector sanchez the other to buster. He and buster were just coworkers from what I hear.
And now 13 years later, Bochy wins his fourth ring against the team he beat here with the Giants.
Gosh do I miss seeing the old rangers stadium filled
I also Miss the Batting gloves,
David Murphy
Nelson Cruz
Josh Hamilton
Elvis Andrus
All of those have some of the best looking Batting gloves ever
Reminder of just how elite prime tim Lincecum was
3:09 Cruz should have caught the ball like that in 2011 world series game 6
Facts
Rangers fan here… I was 7 in 2010 and this was just the beginning of the disappointment I would go through with the rangers in the next 11 years
13 years later...Boch would bring 1 to Texas!!
If only Cruz makes that catch next year
Dammit.
As a Rangers fan I've tried my hardest to forget this one
Orioles vs KC game 1 2014 ALCS is an insane game
Who’s here after the Rangers just won the WS?!
It’s oddly fitting that Bochy’s fourth ring was with the team he beat here 13 years ago.
As a life long Giants fan this was my favorite WS win. They really were a completely average team that should probably not even been in the post season.
What a win!
I love this game so much
Appreciate you man keep on creating good content!
Its crazy cuz Bruce finna Win one for us tonight 🙏🏾🏆💍
I really enjoy this Series, here’s an idea, 2020 ALDS GAME 5 TB/NYY
Goosebumps
Lincecums prime. Short but dominant
Holy shit I forgot how good Timmy was
I know how this story ends. But I wanted to comeback and remind myself of the joy that you're all experiencing now DFW.
Respect for Renteria for not showing it up.
Tim Lincecum !!! What a legend
pain.
2010 I saw those were a bunch of crazy guys that played for the Giants I tell you
Poor Rangers…I was rooting for them to win at least one of the World Series they made. The Giants and Cardinals always spoil the fun…
@Kstutzin no sir. I ain’t a Rangers fan either.
@Kstutzin if you say so
MLB 2022 season opening day is on April 7th 2022.?? Right.?
Yes
Great.!!
Watching Nelson Cruz making a fine catch off of Freddy Sanchez Rangers fans are wondering...why it didn't happen in 2011.
2016 NL Wildcard between Giants and Mets.
Connor Gillaspie being the one to beat Familia says all you need to know about Familia’s ability in the clutch.
Did this guy just say this is “San Frans first World Series”…
They won in New York but had never won in SF up until that point.
2006 NLCS
2015 postseason ?
Bochy would win one for Dallas/arlington 13 years later
Forgotten Classic number 31 plis
Giants !!
why do they keep hitting those low balls wtf
ㅋㅋ
I don’t see this as a good game quite boring if I am being honest
It’s a pitchers duel. Games like this feel a lot more intense and closer than an 11-10 game or something like that.
@@baseballsoffury642 this is an amazing game. One where one at-bat can change it. In a very high scoring game, this won’t happen.
Yuck
