I am white, and I grew up knowing only America, and I do my best to understand others experiences, and nothing gives me goosebumps and feel like I understand (as best I can) like Ariana's poems
(if this is a bad take, please let me know and I'll delete the comment, this is not about me)

Breathe taking. The shame of the egg resonates with me, you see my mother practices this hybrid ceremony passed down by word of mouth from generation to the next. I come from a long line of curanderas. Until recently I had turned my back on these teachings; because when I translate them into the Colonial language I now speak. It doesn't make sense. It resonates more now because It connects me to my Amerindian ancestors who built the most complex pyramids in the world, it connects me to my African heritage. You see during the colonial times the Afro Mexicans were famous for their knowledge of natural remedies.
Curanderiamo comes from the intersection of the three cultures in my Homeland of Mexico.

This poem is a testament to identity its complexity and why America will always be and why trump will never win. You can not deport us into a land that is always us.
