How about if the computer automatically deletes text as you type it in. ( nothing to do with Inset)

If you have an HP envy x350 keyboard they did not make an insert key on the keyboard. None of the tips work. Simply power off your laptop and power on, it resets the overwright feature back to its original setting and then you will not have typing overwrite words.
