I am LOVING the renewed interest in gardening by everyone watching these videos! I’m a little late this year getting seeds started (quarantine delayed all of my orders for fresh seed so I’m using old stock and praying!) but I am looking forward to the squash this year!

I used mushroom compost and black cow, and did your dead fish and lime, plus some epsom in the hole and I have to tell you...I started my seedlings in the garden in SC in late April. Now, since late May, every single day I go outside, I've got 2 or 3 new huge zucchini. I am also using the Alaska fish emulsion every other week (2 tbsp./gallon). I am feeding our family, and 3 of our neighbors. WOW. Never ever thought two zucchini plants could produce so much! They are coming in like popcorn. The leaf growth was huge, so I've had to continuously prune off the lower leaves so pollinators can find the flowers.

Thank you for watching!! Yes indeed, we are so thankful for everything God has done for us. He healed Nancy of her cancer. We are very thankful for the medical staff God led us to and that they all use their skills with Gods help and guidance. Having a Christian medical team was a great comfort to us.
So glad you stumbled on to our channel. Welcome to the family 😍😍🐶. I have never tried to grow squash in containers but if I did I would use 3 equal parts of potting soil, Black Kow and dry compressed peat. Mix in a generous dose of Bone Meal to help the root development in the containers.

My father-in-law and I are doing a garden in my backyard this year.
I tried crooknecks last year in pots, and MAN! were those things good! If you do a how-to for growing in pots, be sure to add that you need a good sized pot/bucket or they're roots will get so big that they'll choke themselves out and die. These videos are super helpful with our earth garden. God bless and keep crankin out the videos. Hi from Texas!!

I love how it can thrive with enough organic plant food. I was discouraged to grow thinking I needed a fancy plant bed with extremely rich multi nutrient soil etc. But this is the 2nd video where the dirt is fine in texture like I have in my backyard and they flourish. I'm growing mine vertically in bins to save space. 3 weeks in and they do grow fast.

I recently ordered baby Pak Choy Seeds after watching Nancy's soup video and your video on growing this gorgeous vegetable! I am currently growing tomatoes, cucs, squash & peppers in containers and I'd like to try growing the Pak Choy in a partially shady area so that I have leafy greens throughout the hot Georgia summer & fall since my lettuce didn't do very well in the 90+ heat. Thank you for sharing your gardening success & projects with us! BTW: Burying dead fish underneath vegetable plants is BRILLIANT! My husband won't be giving away his catch anymore! Lol!

    Hi Hollis and Nancy,
Just one question on the fish. Do you use them in raised beds or only in earth gardens? Also does the lime affect the soil pH? God bless you both and thanks! ☝️🙋🙏

I use the fish under anything I plant as a starter plant. The lime raises the Ph slightly but it is needed with the decomposition of the fish

3 or 4 wks ago, I stumbled upon your video, watched it, and got inspired. I saw an onion bulb in my kitchen and tried to plant it. On our nexr trip to the grocery, I was already looking for seeds I can plant in containers. It started with one pot, now I have more than 20 pots and a seed tray. Thank you for the knowledge and inspiration.😊😊😊

Michael Kowalczyk he's said in another video that he does it to make it easier to cultivate between plants and allow better airflow.

What could be the cause of plants not making female flowers? I had about 10 plants last year and ended up with 1 tiny squash that started to wilt at about 5 inches long. All the plants were full of male flowers. I tried cutting off some of the male flowers to encourage more flower production but all I got was more male flowers.

He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; Paslms 104:14 🌱
Several years ago we were going to the flea market.
We drove past a field that had tomatoes growing in it. 🍅
There were also some Oak trees dotted about. 🌲
I looked at one of them and thought " that tree should live a long time it has plenty of water and sun."
I only thought it I didn't speak it.
On the way back we drove past the field and that same tree had fallen it was on the ground I was shocked ! 😨
The Lord God our Creator was telling me that the tree was standing because he was keeping it in place not the water and sun he is in control of everything ( he causes the grass to grow.)
That tree was standing there because He wanted it there. 🌲
Of course he wants us to water and so on but he doesn't need water and sunshine to grow things he's God.
He's been trying to teach me that for years it's still a work in progress :D
That was my first lesson in who's really in control of EVERYTHING.
In that we should be truly thankful that he blesses our gardens because he loves us and wants to bless us so we can bless others and praise Him. 🍅🍆🥕🌽🥔🍓
Our God is an AWESOME GOD. Peace 🙂

I can't eat store bought, it always looks like it is about to rot to me. Funny, it never bothered me until I grew my own and saw the difference. And the cost!!!!!!
