This looks like a safest rack for carbon frame because of the mounting sistem on the seat stays - there is no clamping. Would you agree?

Hi! Will this Tour rack work with a vintage road bike? The frame is rather skinny and the angles are different.

Ha! I tossed the instructions with the packaging by mistake. That whole unlocking and ratcheting didn't even cross my mind. I had to go to the Thule YT and see how to install it.

And don't loose the 'key' for the locking mechanisme. Ik taped it into one of the yellow bags.

Any comment on how this setup holds up on rocky and rooty descents? Does is shake apart or remain relatively composed?

I didn't take much fast really bad descents. When i am at a rooty descent i slow down a lot. For the short time on rooty descents with speed it was holding without any problem. i was affraid it would break, but afterwards it always looks pretty ok everything still at it's place.

Hi. Did you use a sadle bag on your trip or was that bag on top of the Thule rack as well? And also, how much weight did you take in the panniers? Thx for this helpfull video.

Hello, inalso used the sadle bag, it was not om the Thule Rack. You van carry 10kg with the Rack. Ik started at home with 8kg in the bags. Sturing the trip i somethimes carried more when i bought some food and drinks. I was really positieve surprised by the Thule Rack. It works very good and is very stable.

I think I I would have placed both the carrier and the panniers on a soft mat for assembly if I bought them 😮
