Extremely helpeful! Thanks for posting.
Great video and tips! Thank you
Excellent video. I now feel equipped to tackle my five new pocket doors. Thank you!
Good luck. Take your time and be careful.
Thank you so much for your help. Not much out there for steel frame pocket doors and how to attach your trim.. Lori E. Very easy and understandable.
Thank you. Good luck with your project!
Looking up how to trim our pocket doors out in our reno and this video was the best! Perfect mix of instruction, tips, and showing the work. We'll be linking to this video as our How To when we get to making the video on our door installs. Thanks!!
Awesome. Good luck with your renovations. Hope you found a good price on lumber.
Great tips Doc, especially on the removable head trim 👍
Glad it was helpful!

The little things make the difference...
Broke it down and really clarified the process. Thank you!
Thanks. It's easy if you go one step at a time.
Your video is awesome! God bless you.
Thanks.
@@HouseDoctorRay Thank you! You are calm, explain things clearly and properly. The piece of wood that can be easily removed is the solution I was looking for. You saved my project! God bless. 🙏🏻
very good. thanks!
Glad you liked it.
Black paint behind latch- nice.
I'll be stealing that one!
Thanks. I also paint the stud bays behind return air grates flat black. It makes a huge difference.
What did you use for the door stop trim where the door meets the strike plate? We hired a contractor who had limited skills and there’s a slight gap when the door is closed. I tried adjusting the door with the wrench and even unscrewed the track a bit because I believe the track is not level. Thank you!!
It's called 'Door Stop' molding. Don't put it up tight against the door since they can swing a little on that end.
which jamb kit you used?
Wasn't a kit because the wall was so wide. See my other response.
Why did you align the door to the solid jam instead of the split jam? You can then shim the solid jam so that it is parallel with the split as well as the door
You could do it either way. The result would likely be the same.
I chose to plumb the solid jamb for convenience since it is one piece.
where did you get the jamb and the trim? what does it call?
I just bought off the shelf lumber and molding. I made the jamb from Poplar and the trim or casing was finger jointed Pine.
Poplar is a great wood to use when you are painting. It is durable, cuts easily and takes paint well.
Why isn't the door lined up in the center of the frame ?
On the install I decided not to reframe the wall. ua-cam.com/video/NTOseZcR2z0/v-deo.html
We’ll I’m done immediately. Number one. Continue the jam up with a notch into the upper hardware space.
If you're talking about the first piece extending up into the hardware space would mean you'd have no way to remove the trolley if it needs to be changed later.
@@HouseDoctorRay that is true.
