Imo no, it was good IF you match the ele of the boss it's weak against otherwise it gets completely outshine by playerstat ele kn especially when 9th anniv just dropped.
@@Strainf1232 Ic, if you have a statter I highly recommend getting ele knuckles bcz even at 1 slot it's on par with chestnut and doesn't get locked to heavy remodel builds. Also summer is coming soon making it a tad bit more accessible

And it's also simply more efficient to gain maxhp through equipment or passive due to how abundant they are. Tho disclaimer, if you're looking for a normal tank build for reference. I suggest checking other people's build bcz this build is a bit unorthodox and may subject to changes.
Yes! Matter of fact, I highly recommend people using DX before fully commit to this build. Bcz DX is still the most cost efficient knuckle due to it's versatile stat.
bcz this build is using chestnut, it'll lose a ton of damage and is forced to use ele playerstat kn which I do not have. Even without chestnut, sub str still has the upperhand in overall damage output only the exception of mid flee bosses (No graze is really strong).
Im using chestnut bcz of its itemization synergy (Dual shield, evil lefina) that it offers, being able to spec into heavy remodel allows to reach atleast 100% guard power which is the threshold needed for 100% guard ailment resistance and it also improves the recharge rate of guard gauge. Chestnut stats are also nothing to be scoffed upon as 500 base atk with atk up (200% str) is a ludicrous amount, able to compete even playerstat ele knuckle (10%~ lower dmg output). Additionally, with the recent buff atk/matk up (stat%) got from the last adjustment, chestnut's performance skyrocketed due to it having a high number%, closing the gap further between it and ele playerstat kn. Also most importantly it is cost efficient (so I won't have to get 6+ 2s ele playerstat kn...) sry for the late reply.
alta would force the build to spec into light remodel which makes chestnut, dual shield, evil lefina and evil tiara obsolete. You can make an argument that~ Ele kn (Pomie 2+Kissa) Don shield Dte fc (Alta+Zapo) Scale horn/evil tiara (Gordo+JIbril) Steel ring (Sica+Domi) Have better total dmg output, but dual shield mechanic and the durability it offer is pretty hard to pass on.
