  • So in this video I restore and colour a Christmas postcard which is well over 100 years old using Photoshop. Please let me know what you think of this video, or future suggestions for videos, in the comments below. :)
    Here's last year's Christmas Special where I restored a historical picture from 1918 of a German WW1 Hospital: • A WW1 Christmas (1918)...
To see colourised pictures, including this one featured in the video, you can follow me at the following:

Unfortunately the Image of the couple was without a credit for either the Photographer or the Studio.
The picture of Abraham Lincoln was taken by Alexander Gardner and can be found here: www.loc.gov/resource/ppmsca.1...

I recommend to colorize Robert Cornelius, first selfie in the world. It's damaged a lot and it wild be a challenge to do it.

Hi JBColourisation, I'm big fan of your photo colorizations. I would like you to colorize Lithuanian presidents portraits, because I very love them in white and black. I would like to see these portraits come to life. They aren't as damaged as works you have done before.
P.S. our country just celebrated the day of independence. Thank you

I only found your channel recently as I wanted to learn how to do this for my grandparents Christmas presents. I'm still only a beginner and have a lot more to learn but I'm pleased to say they turned out quite well.
    Thank you and merry Christmas.

You should work on photos of Frederick Douglas, Susan B Anthony, a young Winston Churchill, Gandhi, Lloyd George. and some of the old popes.

Hello, can you please do a photo restoration tutorial on gimp. All the other videos plugins for gimp are outdated and unavailable. Also can you try to make one without a plugin?

I love your work, I have been dabaling in this my self, with old wedding photos etc, any advice on getting photos clearer as, the ones I have done seem a little blurred or the lighting isn't quiet right and which doesn't really work. I tried the Edgar Allen poe one you did and founf it quiet difficult to get the face right. Thanks

I operate with Gimp and I have done a little bit of work on a slew of old/antique family photos I have. I always scan them into .gif files that I first process in Raw Therapee. This is where I work out the clarity.
After exporting it to .jpeg for restauration, I also use the so called "hipass" sharpening method in Gimp. (tutorial available on yt). Something similar should be available in ps too, of course.
Both tools are open source and for Windows users there are even portable versions on portableapps.com
      Cheers!
