This video popped up in my feed today and so I watched several of your other videos. Not only are you incredibly talented in your artistry but also as an instructor. I do hope you continue to teach photoshop techniques for those of us who want to improve our craft. Have you ever considered doing a masterclass online tutorial? I for one would buy that in a second. Looking forward to more insightful videos. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
That's incredibly kind of you to say! I will definitely continue to make tutorials :), also getting nice comments such as yours always helps with the motivation to do so! In terms of Masterclass, It's not something I'm planning at the moment. As much as possible I like to pay back the UA-cam ecosystem for the many thousands of hours of free education I've received from it myself but If I ever were to go in that direction it's nice to know I'd have some potential customers! :)
As an individual with a somewhat "analog" understanding of the world I particularly appreciate how you explained the concept in a way I could easily picture (stencils), and then translated that into digital terms. Very helpful video, thanks!
One important tool with masks is alt-clicking them to see them isolated from the image file. So you can observe exactly what is masked. Nice to see you back 👍
@@JBColourisation im looking forward to all the videos ahead. maybe you can do an in depth tutorial with light and shadows, as thats really important and since youre great at it?
Welcome back JB! As someone who would classify themselves as a beginner to PS this was not only incredibly educational but very easy to understand. Thank you and looking forward to all the videos to come!
Thank you for your kind words! It's always a nice feeling to have, that you've passed knowledge onto someone else, so thank you for taking the time to let me know the video was helpful!
Thanks. Very helpful. Your microphone makes a weird noise when you talk. I think you can fix that with a “SoundCloud” which is a box that goes between your microphone and computer or sound board and acts like a non powered pre amp. One of those totally fixed my sound issues. I bought mine on Amazon. I forgot the cost though.
Thank you very much. And thank you for taking the time to leave some constructive suggestions! :) Sound has been a thing I've been trying to improve upon for a long time and certainly something I intend to financially invest in improving as I continue to move forwards, thank you for the suggestion. :)
Even though I use exclusively Gimp as a hobby photographer, I still thoroughly enjoyed this video. To explain the level tool I like to use the analogy of a lighttable, describing it as a "magic lighttable".
Thank you very much. I find comparisons such as that make the learning experience far easier, at least for learning how a lot of these tools work myself. :)
When we needed him most, he returned.

Very helpful video, thanks!
Thank you! I tend to think that way myself so I'm glad that putting together that animation helped. :)
