I have always been a fan of this song by Dire Straits but think Home Free did an excellent version of this song. Tim's natural breathy bass was awesome along with Chance's smooth baritone & loved it when all the guys were doing 5 part harmonies. Who would believe humming could sound so good. They gave it a very solemn feeling. I love that they don't overproduce their songs. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there.
Great reaction Kabir! Home Free killed it. I agree it’s brilliant and loved Tim’s low bass voice. The boys looked ghost like in the windows. Loved the echoes too. This is a Dire Strait’s song about the Falkland’s war in the 80’s. That’s guitar based where this is voice based. Both are excellent! 🥰😃 Home Free just released a pirate song that Chance (second singer in this) wrote for the Ubisoft game Skull and Bones. It’s a banger!
Their most hauntingly beautiful performance. Home Free is the best in my opinion. Thanks for the reaction
One of Home Free's masterpieces of 5-part harmony. Hauntingly beautiful.
FYI--the original was written and done by the Brit group DIRE STRAITS.
This is a cover of a dire straights song about the Faulklands war.
Beautiful tribute to fallen soldiers 😢
Good reaction! As noted, this was written by Mark Knopler of the British band Dire Straits about the 1982 Falkland War. The song has a beautiful guitar solo. The Finnish a capella group Club For Five arranged it for a capella and graciously allowed Home Free to use their arrangement. Home Free only added the echoes to the arrangement.
And, yes, you really should react to the official video of Home Free's Skull And Bones that was released earlier this week!
Another one with haunting vocals is Helplessly Hoping cover by Home Free
Home Free did an amazing job with this song. It gets me every time. The line, We're force to make war with our brother's in arms. It brings tears to my eyes every time ☮️
The line is "We're Fools To Make War".
You can really get the feels from this amazing video. Its one of their masterpieces
Great reaction, Kabir. If you get a chance, Home Free just released a new video- Skull & Bones. If you like bass, you're going to love it! Subbed for more Home Free.
Harmonies are incomprehensible!
If you like perfection, try Home Free's "Helplessly Hoping" .... could listen to it all day long ... no beatboxing in that one either..... eppic.... keep it up man, doing a great job 😊 ... greetzz from The Netherlands
Absolutely love Home Free!! Thank you Kabir! 🙂❤️
This is probably my favorite.
I always liked the Dire Straits version, but I only got really interested in this song through Home Free. (Although I have to be honest I think Dire Straits guitar playing is phenomenal)
Yes, this version of Home Free will send shivers through your entire body! This is so emotional. Beautifully sung by Tim and Chance, but the background and harmony of Adam, Rob and Austin is also so beautiful. It looks like a choir or actually a kind of church organ sounds. And the whole setting of the video is just amazing. Simple but with so many details that makes it so profound
Song always gives me chills as well. Great reaction as usual!❤
Hauntingly beautiful
❤🎉 This is a Masterpiece.
Skull and Bones ☠
Great reaction if they do any concerts near to you this I say go see them live.
Very moving reaction. Check out their recent releases, Stand by Me and Colder Weather.
Thanks Kabir! This is a stunning example of their talent.
Wow! Neat boy band......... phych!.. this is awesome!!!🔥
This is a good cover of a fabulous song that was written and performed by Dire Straits in 1985. Its a reference to the Falklands war in 1982 between Uk and Argentina. The Dire Straits video is phenomenal (in my opinion) and the song lyrics are very poignant. Dire Straits can also smash any live performance, including Brothers in Arms. Give them a listen...it'll be worth it.
Great reaction! In my opinion the last 2 chords sound like a pipe organ. Love this cover.
Saw them in concert a couple of months ago and they sound just as good in person. If you like bass be sure to check out Voice Play and the Bass Gang as well. Both are also acapella groups.
This is one of my favorite songs by Home Free, one of my favorite bands. And yes, Tim has one of the lowest bass voices out there. And he has a 5-octave voice -- he can do super high notes just as well as the super-low ones.
You should check out more of there videos they just dropped a new original this week they dropped their song that their baritone Adam chance wrote called skull and bones.
My fav from the boys!! A masterpiece!! HF is #1!
More Home Free!
Wonderful reaction Kabir! I have loved this song since Dire Straits released it eons ago. Yes i am that old!😊
Home Free are so good! I can take or leave Pentatonix, usually leave. I find them rather boring and somewhat pretentious. Home Free don't just sing they make you feel.
There is another Aca group called VoicePlay that i suggest you check out. Their songs include a lot of Disney covers but all genres are covered. Their tenor Eli (pronounced like Ellie) has a fantastic rock voice. Their beatboxer Layne is so good you forget it is him and not a drummer. He also sings and adds violin when it adds to the song, like covering a rock guitar solo.
Their bass singer Geoff has a 5 octave range and is sometimes referred to as being part dragon. He also has his own channel called Geoff Castelucci.
As for a song suggestion, listen to 'Vahalla Calling', 'Drunken Sailor' or 'Nothing Else Matters'. In some videos they enjoy themselves and are funny and light-hearted but others dramatic and serious. Enjoy!😊
Home Free was how I discovered you bro, it's been awhile since. You should check out the new Pirate song they wrote for the game Skull and Bones that just released 😊
More HF reactions, please! Thanks for this one. Cheers!
This is such a hauntingly sad, beautiful rendition of the song. The singing & harmonies are incomparable. Although there's an American slant to the video ('cuz of the flags), the song itself is applicable to every military service in any country. BTW, Tim, Austin & friends do fund raising for at-risk veterans. Great reaction.
P.S. - Their video of "Everybody Walking This Land" will blow your mind.
If you like this you should see the one that made for ubisofts new game skull and bones they just dropped the music video
ONE FOR THE ALGORITHM.
🖤🍟
They are better then PTX. Since Avi left them they lost their Basso Profundo
There are two different camps when it comes to our accapella groups. Both Pentatonix and Home Free are good friends. Fans tend to favor one group over the other.
I'm a Home Fry - not a fan of Pentatonix at all.
Same.
Same! I love Home Free but Pentatonix... not so much. I also love VoicePlay. I listen to Home Free for their beautiful covers of country songs like 'Cruise'. I don't know how many times I've listened to that song by them. VoicePlay, although they do a lot of Disney music, tend to be more rock related.
Same here I love Home Free not a fan of PTX
You should check out "Texas Eats with Tim Foust" for some food fun.
You should react to “Hoist the Colours” by the basses of TikTok
It was written by Nine inch nails and is about the Falkland War
It was written by Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits.
Dire Straights did it better man
