    Tip: place the cardboard on a wet washcloth for about an hour, the pans pop out and the glue peels off effortlessly. 😀

      Yessss, I thought the same thing when she pulled them all out.
      Dunno if it's just me being a basic bish, but.... palettes with inside backgrounds of strong/bright/loud colors around the pans (blue, red, yellow, orange, pink, etc) always end up turning me off to the whole palette - it makes it difficult to 'see' the true eyeshadow colors in the palette overall, because it feels like the tints of them feel heavily influenced or are completely overwhelmed by the background color around the pans...
      Kinda wish some brands would stick to black/white/neutral inside backgrounds so the shadow colors are easier to visually interpret >_

  • @jennawar13

    I wish all brands used magnetic pans in their palettes! It makes it so much easier to depot and keep the packaging. Sometimes I just want to swap shades around between palettes, or pull a shade from a palette temporarily and then put it back. Idk it makes it easier for me and so that’s a major plus for a brand/palette as an incentive for me to buy in addition to color story, formula, and packaging/theming.

    • @michmash7888
      @michmash7888 3 роки тому +7

      I think I’m allergic to something in goo gone, because my fingers itch really intensely for a few days after I use it...so I’m not putting it anywhere near products I use on my eyes! Rubbing alcohol, although drying, doesn’t cause an allergic reaction in me. It is also cheaper per ounce, and it leaves no residue.

    • @suhseal
      @suhseal 3 роки тому +1

      I chip as much of glue as I can with an exacting knife. A little bit of goo gone on a paper towel dissolves the rest and then I polish off the residue with rubbing alcohol and it’s pristine.

  • @koinijikoimizu
    @koinijikoimizu 3 роки тому +2

    Someone else who uses a butter knife!! YAY!!! Those palettes are all so pretty though.
    As someone who depots nearly every shadow I buy, for cardboard palettes like those, a butter knife is amazing to work the base loose from around the shadows. Also once that's removed, the knife's teeth are good for -gently- sawing through the tiny gap beneath the pan to loosen the glue. The knife is also great because some of the palette deporting tools can deform or put too much pressure on one part of a pan and cause breaking.

Now I have around 30 but I can't bring myself to depot, they are all cute in some way like colourpop (though those pop right out), or some cute theme I want to keep. I do have a few magnetic palettes, plus magnet stickers in case needed,since I do have some singles. Even if I depotted I could not do it if it destroyed the cute packaing (yeah I'm a bit of a hoarder). Most palettes have at least a few colors I don't use, I can easily create my own color stories. Sometimes I think I like looking at palettes more than using them.

    I got all the ice cream palettes for the same reason you're depotting them, to use them all together. I don't mind having all six open in front of me and honestly if I wasn't so attached to the packaging I might do the same lol.

    Honestly I'm always amazed how great BH shadow quality is!! I love the palettes I have. Seeing this collection depotted makes me want them. Similar to what you were saying they were almost too monochromatic for me so I skipped but I might need a few now 😉

    I love watching your videos!! I always learn something. I just recently depotted a BH neutrals palette and I lost a few. But it's okay, I wasn't mad. Learning how to depot and use eyeshadow that I love is an ama,amazing, feeling. I did not know about the alcohol to clean the bottom, I will definitely be doing that next time!

    The thumbnail got my attention real fast. I recently consolidated my small pan juvias place palettes and I love it! I just wish I could depot my ud naked heat because I only want the shimmers out of it.

      I tried to depot one of my older UD palettes and it was HELL, but if you use a blow-dryer to the back of the palette it makes it slightly easier to wedge the shade out with a depotting tool or a sewing needle.

    I depotted the Tiny Marvels because people and the brand kept saying they were magnetic and able to be taken out, but a few shades broke and the palette broke too lol so unless anyone never wants to keep them in the palette again I'd suggest not to💔

    • @jennawar13
      @jennawar13 3 роки тому +2

      Did you use a magnet to take them out / how did they break? Super curious bc I think that color story is cool but I hate the packaging 🙈

    • @alexahowmanyhamsters1312
      @alexahowmanyhamsters1312 3 роки тому +3

      @@jennawar13 No I just used a little depotting tool that is shaped like a long needle, the cardboard is really strong and they are super stuck in there. I hadn't heard of using magnets to take them out, that seems much easier lol😺

    • @suhseal
      @suhseal 3 роки тому +2

      I use a pretty strong magnet and they pop right out. You almost have to guard the shadows with your fingers and catch them as the magnet pulls it out cuz so sometimes it’s so strong the quick click will break the shadow. But it works like a charm. Sometime the Sydney Grave cardboard packaging is really tight around the pan and kinda holds it in. But I insert a needle in the very corner to try to wiggle it up slightly. That with the magnet gets them out perfectly. And the palette stays unblemished. I’ve been so stoked to feel like my Sydney grace palettes have extended my singles to mix and match.

    • @jennawar13
      @jennawar13 3 роки тому

      Yeah magnets are a life saver the only time I felt like I ruined packaging was with my melt Gemini bc I heard the palettes were magnetic but I swear mine are glued in I couldn’t get them out so I stopped trying 😅

    • @suhseal
      @suhseal 3 роки тому +1

      @@jennawar13 yes the original geminis weren't magnetic. They started doing it with the smoke show palette and then the re-release of gemini. :) Man...I love the color stories of melt but most of the time, their formulation disappoint me. But i hold on to the palettes cuz no one achieves the level grunge melt does.

    I like doing exactly as you're doing with those palettes. I have 5 ColouredRaine 96 pan magnetic palettes. I've depotted all my 9 pan ColourPop and a bunch of other palettes. As of right now though, I need more of those magnetic sticker things so I've slowed down on the depotting.
