just bought a like new gently used t3i starter bundle online for $200. wow it is still an awesome camera in 2021. I want to shoot the moon and your video is very good information for first timers like myself trying to combine the dslr with a scope. this video doesn't overwhelm the newbie and the 3 options you showed helps us understand what accessory we are buying to attach camera correctly. good job keeping it informative and also simple .
Photography advice for the novice1. Get the focus as close as possible then shoot at a high fstop (f22) This will help your focus 2. The noise in the pictures is more likely caused by his high ISO. See 10:30 mark. He is at ISO3200. For time exposures use ISO of 400. A few more minutes of the lens open won't hurt anything if it is secured to a tripod and give you a less noisy pic......Great video on the scope. Thx for your help.
Thank you very much for this tutorial you are very nice and you are worthy of a very good trainer in any case it gave me the desire to immerse myself in the photography of the universe ... Thank you again
Excellent tutorial! You made it so easy to follow and understand. I'm glad I saw your video because you gave me exact information I needed. Thanks for sharing!
Great video, I am just getting into figuring out how to mount my camera onto my telescope but another thing I would recommend is using Aperture mode, it will judge the exposure length based on the light levels. You would have to play with it to see how it will work with what you are doing, but it works great for the other photography I am doing. Also i you kick the ISO back from 3200 to a more normal number like 400-800 the resulting images will be less noisy. You will still have a few stuck pixels (as you always get those) but it will result in cleaner images.
Thanks for the great video. I get a lot out of your efforts. I have an 8SE and will be borrowing my wife"s camera :) Have a T-ring and adapter but I did not know of the long extension. I shall have to look that up. Also just picked up an nextimage 5 for planetary but of course with new toys comes cloudy skies.
Nice video. You were scaring me a bit with attaching the camera on the tele-extender tube. I'd suggest unscrewing the ring on the telescope first, attaching the camera to the tele-extender, and then re-attaching the whole thing to the scope. It just seems less likely to slip out of your hands.
Another informative and helpful video Baltier. Thanks. Really liked the sunspot you could see alot of detail within the spot. It was not just simply a black smudge. Really hoping to see some DSO pictures or videos from you. I am close to deciding on whether to head down the DSLR route (I am using afocal at the moment) or going CCD with a Hyperstar, downside to the Hyperstar is it is very expensive when you factor in a CCD camera too. Oh and a laptop thown in as well!
Very nice video. Thank you for doing this. I am thinking the DSLR setting for this be equivalent as attaching a manual lens that doesn't provide any feedback to the camera. The fstop on the telescope is f10, so taking it on shutter priority should be easier.
There are several adapters you can buy. ua-cam.com/video/wJsBBcbDWcQ/v-deo.html The ones I like the best are the ones that have the thread (T-Thread) on one side and eye peice adapter on the other side.
Yes you are right. Indeed you have to perform a "calibrate GoTo" after attaching the camera so the telescope can compensate for the weight of it. Thanks for watching, and have clear skies!
Hello Baltier, excellent videos, thank you very much for your help. I'm wondering if it is possible to attach the t camera adapter with an eyepiece..., or the only way it is with the tele-extender....
Thank you for the video and the time to show everyone the tricks of the trade. I'm in a process of trying to capture Comet Lovejoy and was wondering, would it be recommendable to use the UV/IR filter with my Canon 60D? As I use this filter with a Philips Toucam SPC900NC for imaging planets ie Jupiter, Saturn.
Hahaha! Believe me, I wish I was rich but I'm not. I had to save for a long time just for the telescope, let along the Camera. Thanks for watching though!
Hi another great vid Am I right in saying that once you set up your camera or web cam onto youe talescope you must run the telescope setup so that the telescope can adjust the weight of your cameras Mike from Scotland UK
While there's certainly some abnormal strain on the motors, the tracking is based on the actual movement of the arm, not just an applied voltage for an assumed weight, so tracking is as good as without the camera attached. There is some play with where you lock the telescope into the arm, I always try and push it a bit forward to help counterbalance it a bit. But to be perfectly honest, that's just to make me feel better.
Telescope: NexStar 6SE Camera: Canon 3Ti Adapters: Celestron Universal T-Adapter Canon T Ring Orion Tele-Extender Orion Digiscoping adapter The telescope is mounted on a home made wedge for better star tracking. You can get an expensive wedge at Celestron for about $400. Thanks for watching, Clear Skies!!
do you think its better to use a standard 1.25" T-adapter or the special Schmidt-Cassegrain T-adapter for celestron Telescopes? I think the SCT adapter is more sturdy, but the downside is that you cant fix a barlow to it
Thank You for all you Great videos Baltier2705, I also am in Indiana. The Extender is a very cool set up. I now know another way of doing it. Don't Forget The 2012 Orionid meteor shower will peak this weekend! Look for the greatest numbers of meteors to streak the sky in the dark hours before dawn on Saturday, October 20, and Sunday, October 21, with forecasters giving the nod to Sunday. I will be out Both mornings about 3 am looking SE at Orion.
Could you / would you please make another clip showing that extender piece once more? WHat kind of piece is that? I couldn't find it on the German market ... so where did YOU get it ? Can you tell me more? Thanks
Hello. Thanks for the video. Please can you tell me if Do you take some long exposure pictures with the equatorial wedge in your celestron nexstar 6 se? How was the results?. Thanks, Regards from Colombia PD: Tienes abandonado tu canal en español sobre el nexstsr 6 se :(
sir,i have 3 short question?1st and i put 20mm lenc in front to camera when i attach to telescope and 2ed is can i connect canon eos 3ti to my leptop?and do u know how to make radio telescope or where to buy it?
Thank you. Has been in the Orion website. I can not find it which is similar to yours. Do you have an item number or link? How long is the extension tube?
Very nice video. I have the exact same set up as yours with the exception of the wedge and I have an 8Se but yesterday I attached my 3ti to the telescope and I was getting no images at all, the screen was all black and it was pointed to the moon. I wonder what I was doing wrong.
at 15:26 what is the tel extender attachment your using, do you have an item number and name ? so we can get a similar attachment and where did you purchase it ?

Brilliant. Thanks so much. I get my 5SE next week and this is most helpful. Thank again.

This video is awesome! Thanks a ton.
Great video. I got the idea of using my Celestron 4SE and Canon 600D!
That DOG IS HAPPY !!!
Back in the early 90s we had to use black and white Tech Pan film and shoot 90 minute exposures guiding by hand.

Thank you very much. It was just what I needed to find it :-)

Hi Baltier2705.
Your videos are excellent. Can you post what you use to capture your videos?
With the weight of the camera, will the telescope still track?
While there's certainly some abnormal strain on the motors, the tracking is based on the actual movement of the arm, not just an applied voltage for an assumed weight, so tracking is as good as without the camera attached. cool video
Also use mirror lock up to stop vibration from the mirror moving
Telescope: NexStar 6SE
Camera: Canon 3Ti
Adapters: Celestron Universal T-Adapter
Canon T Ring
Orion Tele-Extender
Orion Digiscoping adapter
The telescope is mounted on a home made wedge for better star tracking. You can get an expensive wedge at Celestron for about $400.
Thanks for watching, Clear Skies!!
Please Can I use mirror 2 inch to celestron nexstar 6se
can u link the product info for all the parts of the 2nd option? and maybe where u got them

Where did you find the long extension to connect your camera to the end of your telescope?
Do you need to install a lens in the T-Adapter? What is the locking screw on the adapter for?
Hello. Thanks for the video. Please can you tell me if Do you take some long exposure pictures with the equatorial wedge in your celestron nexstar 6 se? How was the results?. Thanks, Regards from Colombia
PD: Tienes abandonado tu canal en español sobre el nexstsr 6 se :(
I would also love to hear about that. I'm guessing by now you have some answers and i'm hoping you'll share it! :)
What is the thread on the extender? I was wondering if it could be used to adapt a video camera with a 37mm thread.
Hi , nice video! could I use this telescope for terrestrial pics as well?
sir,i have 3 short question?1st and i put 20mm lenc in front to camera when i attach to telescope and 2ed is can i connect canon eos 3ti to my leptop?and do u know how to make radio telescope or where to buy it?
Hi there, Was just wondering if these same adapter and tube will go on the NexStar 5se without any problems...
Hey bud thanks for the info I myself have a cpc1100 celetron with a Sony cámara I get some amazing pictures, I’m in California in the inland empire
Baltier, Any chance you could list the equipment you used in a comment or the description? Would be a great help :)
Great video very helpful.
Can you tell me what model is your finderscope? Thx!
Where did you buy your orion extension tube?
I can not find the one you have.
Are you taking your photos in .RAW? If not, you should. World of difference for post processing.
Why did you choose the Celestron SE6, as opposed to other makes models?
Thank you. Has been in the Orion website. I can not find it which is similar to yours.
Do you have an item number or link?
How long is the extension tube?
can this adapter ,this T ring and this camera be used on a 4 se??PPPlease answer
Where do you post your pictures?
I have the exact same setup. However with the camera attached I get zero image?
Very nice video. I have the exact same set up as yours with the exception of the wedge and I have an 8Se but yesterday I attached my 3ti to the telescope and I was getting no images at all, the screen was all black and it was pointed to the moon. I wonder what I was doing wrong.
I hope you have it figured out by now, but you probably had a low exposure, so not enough light was coming into the sensor.
Hello Tiago. Thank you for the reply. You're right, I had to point to something a lot brighter to be able to view it on screen.
I don't see an item number on the website. Look for it as the 1.25" Orion Standard Tele-Extender.
How do you set your f Stop with a tee adapter?
balitier can I use my cannon t4i the same way as the video?
at 15:26 what is the tel extender attachment your using, do you have an item number and name ? so we can get a similar attachment and where did you purchase it ?
Does the Tele Extender attach to all eyepieces? I have a Celestron Nexstar 114GT. Thanks for the vid.
Lupe M just seen your comment. Did you get the camera attached to your telescope after 5 years?? Ahaha
Good

buenas noches amigo, te saludo desde el Perú y a mi pregunta; ¿Cuál es su precio de ese telescopio allí en lo EU?, gracias por la respuesta
I got it from the Orion website.
Anyone done this with a Sony mirrorless? I have an A7Riii and am curious as to your experience. Thanks so much.
