1936 RL #102 WL 45ci Flathead Bobber Bike Assembly rebuild 41 WLA Harley by tatro machine
bike was a 1929 Harley 45 flathead POS with a new style WL motor.
kept the 1929 fork and gas tanks. sold off all the other junk.
frame is a 1932-34 Harley RL frame modified to take the later 40's 45ci WL motor and 1935-52 star hub 16" wheel with a real drum brake. look up what they used before drums came out.
    transmission is a 1939-40 style 2-bolt 3-speed.
foot clutch is the 30's style and the brake side is the 40's version.
handlebars are some VL RL leftover parts I welding together back in the early 80's.
the dual headlights are some 4" custom jobs I am going to make work.
this bike has been a very old project bike that I took over from the owner quite awhile ago and am going to get done this year.
the gas tanks with the custom oil and gas lines is the last big task to get done. the handlebars and headlights are next on the list. the rest is your normal stuff to get a bike rideable.
    see as I go.

If ever I realize my fortune, I will follow Tatro's example of resurrecting these wonderful old motorcycles.

These are such restfull, amusing and informative vids. Makes a change from having someone endlessly and aggressively repeat the same thing over and over and over again...........

I see the intense work you are doing! Although That chunk of finned cast Iron Looks curiously like an old Motorcycle Shop Doorstop! Funny how what was Junk 30 years ago is now being appreciated, inflated and capitalized on! Sandy Bagel, (Pardon the accent) San Diego must be the hotbed of Flathead Activity! Dig your videos ,not bad for a West Coaster: (land of fruits and nuts!) Greetings From New York!

I have a 56, 45ci G motor missing jugs, pistons, heads and rear lifter block and lifter. Is it worth messing with or does cost outway the value? I just want to use it for an unknown project.
    Thanks

That old block of wood is your problem reallly not square

    • @captaingroovy6434
      @captaingroovy6434 7 років тому

Tatro can confirm it but I think I remember someone saying something about that block of wood not being flat\square before and Tatro had said he had squared that block of wood up.
I have a block of hard Maple and a block of White Oak that I had squared up in "planer' some years back that I use on my drill press table and except for a few dings in the wood and odd drill bit peck or three on one side you can still lay flat edge or a square on it whatever direction you want and it still straight.

Camera man smacking his mouth while eating with his mouth open is just nasty sounding on the mic, must have been raised in the barnyard with the hogs.
I really like your videos, but really rough to get through this one with this camera guy wolfing down chips
The screeching from the reaming sounds much nicer.
