I was on a US Navy ship, one of two that went into the port of Miami for "Fleet Week". Most of the ships we were with did go to Ft Lauderdale but the USS Garcia (DE-1040) and the USS Edward McDonald (DE-1043) were tied up where the cruise ships dock. This was back in about 1967. At that time we were told that we were the first US Navy ships to come into the port of Miami since World War II (but I cannot verify that statement). So the ships that came in now are NOT the First. I may still have a few photos to prove this. Dawn Hebert
Awesome! I had an awesome time making a video and learning the ships and helicopters!
