Hello Yoshi. Can't believe I'm first. 😅 in my Zen space stitching the blue Christmas Elf. Done all three red, and i think i am doing a second blue. 🎉 well, done on finish. I have been distracted by the need to make abed quilt for the great. Ephew, who is now three, so the baby quilt is way too small now. Hope to quilt it Thursday. 😊 wonderful blog thank you.
Hi Yoshi. Over the years ( I started doing cross stitch in the mid-90s ) I have washed projects with DMC floss with no problem. Use cool water and some gentle soap, like Dawn dish soap. Many people have videos on how they wash projects. So you will find good ideas as you search around.
Yoshi, congrats on your first finish. That’s awesome. I also wanna do a hawk run hollow. Are you interested in doing a stitch along maybe starting in January? I also have a friend that wants to do it fireball stitcher. Thank you for reminding everyone to vote.
@ well Yoshi I’m pretty open to whatever day I’m trying to use this next year and finishing a lot of my stitch along that I have started so I can start more😂🤣 if you wanna start in January, I’m down with that. I know I am gonna start my Santa Mirabella in December. That’s my current plan so far, but tell me a day and let’s coordinate.
Congrats on your first finish! 🎉You're making great progress on so many WIPs. I love your intentions to finish your pieces, those are always my intentions too. Still, its important for us to enjoy the journey. Happy stitching!
Thank you so much for the shoutout! I love all of your projects. I really want Wonderful World Map, but the size of the fabric really scares me. Maybe one day… I really like the Long Dog sampler you picked out. Can’t wait to see what fabric/floss colors you’ll pick for it
If you ever do get the Wonderful World Map, please make sure that it will fit on the fabric that they provide you with. I noticed that the fabric they provided me with was a little small. Luckily I caught this mistake prior to stitching.
Congratulations on your first finish. I suggest adding lacing for framing your next thing to try, especially if that fits in an easily obtainable size frame. When you pick a frame remember you need a little depth. Many frames are made for photos and flat prints and won't be deep enough for a piece of mat board with a layer (really two layers) of fabric.
Yep, the typing went again. Great Nephew needs a larger quilt. I do admire your colour ideas. They give me ideas also. Beading, it is a personal choice, for me it depends on the pattern and how many and where they are, so some are do as I work and others added at the end. Not sure that helps. Keep stitching please. 😊
I love how you slowly pronounce Long Dog so you don’t pull a Jenn and say long dong 🤣🤣 I suppose we could have our lifetime projects listed on our someday I’ll finish it list! Yours would be old world map and mine would be catching rays! It doesn’t have as many stitches as yours but it’s still over 1 million❤❤
About washing your cross stitch. I have washed many pieces with DMC without issue. Use cool water and a mild detergent like Dawn or Orvus quilt soap. I’ve even thrown in a color catcher with red floss. That said, I’m concerned that your fabric may NOT be colorfast. Most hand dyed fabrics are not washable. I would hate to see that beautiful piece of fabric ruined. You may want to check with the dyer to see.
I looked up 2025 Chinese New Year to see what animal it will be and it is The Snake! I don't have any snake patterns right now but I am willing to join a SAL if you decide to host one.
Congratulations on your first finish.🎉🪡🧵
❤❤❤ I voted last week!

Thank you, the idea of washing frightens me a bit to be honest. Have you had any issues with the fabrics bleeding?
Chatalaine is having a sale November 1-10. At European Cross Stitch
Thanks for the info, I need to finish kitting up!

My January is going to be filled with new starts, but I am so down for a hawk run hollow start. What date do you have in mind?

@ the beginning of January has a lot of new starts planned so let’s aim for the 18th if that works for you.

Thank you Yoshi for the shout out! What a nice surprise! You make some really good progress on your WIPS! Wow!

Thank you for the suggestion. I have actually started watching lacing videos thanks to you!
@TheCrossStitchGuy cool! It is a great skill to have and certainly cuts down on framing costs for many pieces.

@@jennthecaffeinatedcrafter5679 I did mispronounce it prior to that 😂 I just cut it out. I love adding new projects to the list!
Great job on all your conversions! My daughter is a Swifty too.
Congratulations on your finish!
Nice finish Yoshi!

Omg 🤣 why did I think it was the boar. I'm going to confuse so many people lol. A snake is exciting! I'll need to see whats snake patterns exist.
Yay! Congrats on your finish!
Great PSA and thank you for not making it a political statement.
