Would Adam the Warlock have sounded better? Is this the best deckbuilding shenanigan hero released to date? Answers on a postcard.

I'm thinking of putting Groot in when they release it in the states. Healing him for one might make a difference? I never thought to go to fifty before but I'll try it out with Warlock. Putting cards like Combat Training and God Slayer might give him more of a punch.

I suspect thats really good value, 5 attacks so long as you don't risk defending with him, but then again "technically" 1 incidental damage allies can be infinite but Groot probably adds that welcome bit of utility and risk/reward when defending.
Putting aside my reluctance to try 50 cards from the consistency angle, at some point the card pool will be big enough that even with singletons you won't need to bring average or subpar cards.
I think Combat Training is the auto-include of the basic power buffs, mainly from it being the most pro-active but taking all 3 would never be a bad choice. Godslayer's a good shout, especially in low minion scenarios but the fact that it exhausts means it can't benefit from the cape without outside influence, but defending, hero ability and then swinging with Godslayer seems like a good use of the hero phase 😉

I feel like Adam has the potential to be pretty broken if you play your cards right. i know he's one offs but... they're still powerful.

Agreed, I'm not sure if I'm statistically accurate when I say this but with a bigger card pool as more packs come out a singleton deck should benefit even more with filling in any weaknesses there might be.

How on earth do you have a true cost 2 card that does 5 damages with pretty much no actual extra conditions and a no-biggie-additional cost being inferior to a true cost 3 card that averages at 6 damage and has a once-in-a-blue-moon chance of doing 8 damage. Your maths are just off on that one. Also, in a deck where your playing one-offs from all colours, you dont think Combat Training, Heroic Intuition and Armored Vest should at least be in consideration, thining his deck to make it cycle in to those events you liked, so maybe having a built in stand effect might be pretty efficient as well if that's on the table.

So for some context 😉 and this is why I shouldn't do flippant one-liners near the end of a video, I do absolutely get where you're coming from with Magic Attack and Karmic Blast and you've somewhat convinced me but when I say inferior it was in the larger context, I very much like that Magic Attack has a predictable upside and you're probably right pound for pound in isolation its statistically a more reliable (or at least predictable) card but would you rather have 3 primary damage dealing cards that were still top tier in your deck or 1? I think in that context its swings and roundabouts but I'd probably take the 3.
I think Combat Training, Heroic Intuition and Armoured Vest should all be in consideration just because they're such staples, the issue that left me to say the card was uninspiring (not bad) was that I'd rather have those +1 buffs on a natural 2 basic power hero than a 1. Thats why I like the luxury it gives you to defend and damage soak each turn as an option, as well as being proactive on your turn.

@@DicevsCards After some testing I tend to agree about the Cape being slightly underwhelming due to the weird timing in respect to the leadership battle mage ability. You are absolutely right about it bing most use full for getting to punch/twart after having defended. When it comes to your point on Magic Attack v. Karmic Blast, of course I'd rather have 3 of Magic attack, it is well over curve for any aspect attack card. Thats why it is restricted to one per deck. Now, normaly I strongly dislike this design approach, making over curve cards limit 1 per deck, it makes for swingy decks. Here though we have a hero built around the idea of 1 offs so it kind of makes sense in this particular situation. However, Id say that Karmic blast is quite underwhelming for attack cards in hero suites, this would be a card I'd rather not have 3 of. Since its not of an aspect and it is an event it stays in rotation making the other copies of it self as well as the somewhat stronger Cosmic Awareness weaker.
