I think something got lost in translation here. Other than involving lye, this has absolutely nothing in common with German Brezen, and this video os the only result for “Chinese brezen” that isn’t about German-style Brezen, so I don’t think it’s a standard translation of the Chinese dish’s name.

The tea seeds are from the plant Camelia sinensis and then Grandma separate the husk and seed and burn the husks.
