My grandparents had a house here in ransburg I would visit as a child. Going to the old saloon and general store to get an ice cream Sunday was the highlight of the weekend. They have old cowboy shootout shows and the original jail at the begining of the town. You forgot to mention that the town was buried a while ago and then excavated to preserve the history.
I highly recommend a trip there. It's like walking into the past.

Excellent presentation. Thanks. Did Dr. Rose Lamonte Burcham have anything to do with the naming of the town, Lamont? Would love to hear more stories about these amazing "pioneer" women in Kern county.
