- Spring time is a great time for Milky way shots! However the early time it rises forces you to either camp or stay up all night in order to get the shots.
In this video I document my trip into the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland to camp and shoot the Milky way, I also add in my own views and tips on simple stacking techniques, aimed towards people just beginning to try astrophotography!

Nice one man, love the shot you got even though conditions weren't with you ok this one! Keep sharing
Thank you bud! Yeh I'm still super happy getting that shot with the conditions! Definitely need to get a camping session with you sometime! 🙏
Just found your channel the other day, nice to see the local area being promoted. Great videos and your final shots are excellent, so massive 👍 on the Photoshop work, especially the detail you were able to extract from the milky way. Might need to pick your brains about that some time. Been toying for a couple of years with heading up the mournes for a night astro shoot. Any recommendations on a decent, not too expensive tent. I'll probably only use it a hand full of times in decent weather.
Thank you so much! 😁 Glad you enjoyed it, definitely the mournes is a stunning place for astrophotography, only thing is there is light pollution in most directions there unfortunately, but shooting east from the western mournes ie Meelmore etc is the best direction to shoot for least light pollution! 😊 Tent wise there is definitely a few good options for lightweight one man tents on Amazon etc, I need to get myself one, I brought up a 3 man tent for myself that time, way too much weight 😂
