Who Is Saint Justin Martyr? | The Catholic Saints Podcast

Dr. Ben Akers sits down with Dr. Elizabeth Klein to discuss St. Justin Martyr-an early Church martyr who lived from about AD 100 to 165 and wrote several significant Christian apologetic works. St. Justin was a convert to the Catholic faith, philosopher, and is famous for his idea of the "seeds of the Word" found throughout all of God's creation. St. Justin explains that all things are created by God and that there are seeds of God's truth found in all things. This allows Justin to confidently seek the truth present in other philosophies and even the pagan myths and draw out what is true and good and relate it to the Word-Jesus Christ.

Jesus sacrifice is our only hope, jesus agony in the garden of Gethsemane does not encourage martyrdom at all. He refused 3 times to drink the cup.

@@wingchun1963 jesus sweated blood thats a medical condition due to very extreme stress.why should he be stressed if its his true mission. Socrates died without fear and welcomed it. Because in his belief our physical bodies are a prison that prevents our divine spark to develop.

A "saint" ? A production of Catholicism. No doubt venerable people. However , Our Lord rejoices unto them His grace. The proclamation of holiness is not for another. For His works are of His design. As such it is not for man to glorify. One can use as example , however , no man truly knows another's heart. No man !!!!
