A friend of mine had a 1965 Biscayne with a 283. We had a lot of fun in that car way back then.

Was driven by a little ol lady only on Sundays.
And these window vents. Did I tell ya about these window vents?
I love these 13 minute videos that are really just commercials.

Loved watching that vacuum gauge when I was a kid!

My first car was a hand me down 4 door 1965 Biscayne that came with a 327, 2.02 heads, a 4bbl carb and a three on the tree shifter.
The interior had police and taxi seats that could handle all beverage and body fluid issues a high schooler might encounter.
My parents didn't order any high performance add ons but maybe the high altitude where it was delivered had something to do with that (7,000 feet).
I went though many clutches and transmissions and the local home boy trans shop would throw in whatever gears they had laying around so the speedometer could not be trusted.
Where the Impala had a tach, my Biscayne had a factory vacuum gauge.
The factory AC was very cold.
I did have a pushrod knock a hole in a rocker arm and get stuck there. It still ran but had a loud backfire. The pushrod didn't even touch the valve cover. I took the rocker arm with the pushrod wedged on it to the local Chevy parts counter and said, "I need a new one of these". Everybody in the shop came to look at it.

Who cares about the guy driving the car? We needed to see the engine and a good walk around the four sides of the car.

You can drive it on “cold” and it was a green light when on , no warm up was necessary in normal driving

If I win the lottery, this would be my dream car. Only changes I would make: a Silver Sport Tremec 6 speed, hydraulic clutch, and Wilwood four wheel disk brakes

Damn COLD Light lol. I remember waiting in the freezing cold with mom waiting for that light to go out. Meanwhile I suffered through the COLD and about 3 cigarettes.

I’ve gotten so use to temperature gauges. So, lights don’t help me anymore. I need to have advanced warning if something is going wrong.

Yeah, the 454 wasn’t king of v8’s, not even at GM. The Buick 455 was lightest and most torque.
