Why does it take so long to sew a Bimini top?

you will always be asked how long something takes to make or when it will be finished.
My standard answer is "longer every time you ask". And unfortunately that's exactly what happens. I pattering issue, material not long enough, one mistake cutting something, sewing something wrong and having to go back tear it apart fix it clean all the thread... You have to have total concentration on the next five steps and make sure you have every piece set and stapled exactly or something won't be right.
A big piece like this has to be moved hundreds of times to work it all through the machine.
sorry for the poor sound.. I have constant problems with it..
